QE is monetization on steroids, so what happens when government spending is reduced (hint why is Obama so defensive about these debt ceiling debates?) reducing government spending will reduce the need to monetize, and then you have to taper. so Obama says GROAR the Economy, but the more he gives the big banks the more stagnant the real economy becomes.
Taper is when you take a train wreck and make a hard crash landing out of it.
