One World Leader Still Endorses NSA Spying

George Washington's picture

All 3 branches of the U.S. government have concluded that the NSA has gone way too far … and that mass surveillance is unnecessary.

The U.N. General Assembly agrees.

But one government leader backs the NSA’s Orwellian spying … former KGB officer Vladamir Putin.

It is obvious that the former Soviet uber-spy’s endorsement is ironic.  But there is a second potential explanation.

Putin also has a current net worth alleged to be between $40 billion and $70 billion, and a palace to rival the old monarchs of France.

The real purpose of mass surveillance is economic advantage, diplomatic manipulation, and social control.

The multi-billionaire – whether commie or capitalist – may just want to maintian control and increase his wealth.

Of course, top experts say that mass spying by the NSA makes the Internet more vulnerable to bad guys.

And huge chunks of North American Internet traffic have flowed to Russia and other strange places recently:

Have NSA shenanigans helped Mr. Putin by weakening the security of the web to the point where he can grab our data?  Maybe that’s one reason he likes it.

Postscript: Given that the American economy has gone from capitalism to socialism, and that the U.S. used communist torture techniques specifically aimed at extracting false confessions, it has become admittedly difficult to identify the players from the baseball roster these days.

Relax, SoCN

I don't have a problem with your comment about the Franklin Scandal.  I have a problem with GW being lazy.

I want to read a story without the ol' trusty debbils he trots out with too great frequency.

Yeah, they're monsters alright.  "Constitution? What Constitution?"  Right with ya', pal.

"End the 100 year old FED?" Yep! I'll carry the sign at the next hometown protest.

See, I did some of that stuff already.  I know who's on the Dance Card.

I just want to read something NEW from GW.

'N I don't want to sing the Internationale anytime soon either.

All the best to you,

Wonder what Putin's assignment was there, security or spying (or both)?

The shirt and slacks with the cameras makes him look like a nice Dad, an accountant, pretty good cover.

The Constitution clearly states that what the N.S.A. is doing is illegal and unconstitutional; but since the Supine Court has trampled the document and the military seems intent on doing the same (rather than their duty of defending it) I don't see much hope or change in the future.

p.s. - I'm going to use my pressure cooker to make a chuck roast this weekend, it's the bomb!

you're looking at that picture the wrong way. Putin is "being recognized"...his "significant other" (in this case no less than the President of the United States) is showing an understanding that this "kid" with all the cameras has already been "groomed" for the Big Time. As any wizard will tell you "this eye can lead to problems": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBMiyEzOJmI

This is poorest stunt GW ever made. You might not heard about British royals, did you?

Pfffft, look at Blackstone etc...

End note, he is muuuch richer than that, but he does not need money, understand?

"All 3 Branches of Government Say Mass Spying On Americans Is Unnecessary

Get back to us all when they've found a copy of the Constitution and can agree that its ILLEGAL, un-Constitutional, and that OUR employees, the beurocrats that have implmented this nonsense have been thrown out on their *%sses and lost their pensions.

Until then, that headline is a back-asswards endorsement of the entire process as it exists-and places us as "the problem" here.

Yes, it would seem that fascism masquerades as socialism today.  To be clear Mr. Washington, were the U.S. a socialist nation, the people would own the banks, not vice versa.  Fascism is the cooperation of government with corporations, in the interests of corporate owners, not the people.  Obama, like Bush before him, and Clinton before him, is a fascist.http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2013/12/yes-obama-democrats-mussolini-style-corporatists-just-like-republicans.html#comment-1743910  And the U.S. isn't all that good a welfare state either.  Were its government to be interested in public welfare, it would have used those trillions it has spent to buy the mortgages of the proles rather than the MBS of their masters.

"...it has become admittedly difficult to identify the players from the baseball roster these days. ..."

it is much much simpler than you think....the wall street banksters - rockefellers, duponts, morgans, harrimans, dulles and other nazis started world wars 1 and 2, and put hitler into power....the same nazi shits who have brought more war and bloodshed in the last 100 years than the previous 6000 combined are going to continue ruling the world through spying.....they continue through the bush crime syndicate, the koch brothers and an incestuous nest of nazis...

david and nelson rockefeller ruled the soviet union with protoges henry kissinger and armand hammer acting as their legates....all of them were seen frequently at politburo and high level soviet meetings because they controlled the communists just as they do the fake capitalists....

a vote for democrat or republican is a vote for nazism.

They have probably got all those Credit Card numbers (and associated PIN data) from the latest Target fiasco too; traced back to the issuer's datafiles (e.g. user's registered e.mail address), so expect to be on the receiving end of even more phishing e.mails in 2014.

Feinshwein of course totally supports the spying. Of course, that is totally unrelated to campaign contributions and vested personal business interests.

Most voters are duped into believing that the alternative candidate of the other major party would be marginally even worse.

And that goes for both Democrats and Republicans,

and regardless whether one thinks of oneself as "progressive" or "conservative".
