CNN--According to a new CNN poll out Thursday, two-thirds of Americans surveyed agree that the current Congress is the worst in their lifetime. Nearly three-quarters of respondents — rich and poor, young and old, Democrats and Republicans — agreed this is a “do-nothing” Congress.

WB7--I disagree. I think this Vichy Congress does plenty in the destruction of civil liberties department and is the absolute worst ever when it comes to protecting our Constitution.

philipat: Not sure what the issue is either. I use the Tor browser with several apps that block flash & scripts. I had to allow certain settings for WB7's pictures to load on ZH. Never had this problem before until recently. Perhaps it's the Flickr site that has changed something??? I don't know at this point. I can tell you that simply refreshing the page sometimes works if it gets "stuck" while loading. WB7's pictures do take time to load also.

Can you see this? If the answer is yes, then you are having trouble loading "iframes" in your browser. This image is in simple html. Flicker is transitioning to iframes which are an active as opposed to passive embed (such as a slide show feature). In other words there is functionality embedded as opposed to just an image link. This puts stress on low bandwith set-ups.

This post has one image in an iFrame (up top) and I am interested to see if this loads ok for others and/or if others are having similar problems.

Possible sloution: Try clearing your browser cache and clearing out whatever cookies are on there. This apparently works for many people having similiar issues on other web sites.

It is probably a good idea to do this periodically in any event.

Adblocking functions can also cause a problem.

Please let me know if this works.

William, thanks for the help, appreciated. Yes, I can see the "Puck" Post and, no, I can't see the iframe image at top. So my problem is seeing iframe images? My system is set to reboot daily and run a system scan to clean cache, including cookies, which hasn't helped. I have also tried to disable "Adblocker" as well as all Tracking disablers but nothing seems to help. SO you think that it might be a "Bandwidth" issue? That would surprise me because I don't have problems anywhere else. It seems unique to Flickr (Apparently iframe) pictures.

Thanks very much to all the other posters who have tried to help, I do appreciate. I do use Avast AV and ASc for cleaning. I don't use CC claenaer because it always deletes Windows restore points. This is SO frustrating.

CrapCleaner is your friend, I sweep with it probably ten times a day and no problems, have you checked if two antivirus programs are running?- sometimes they slip in a "free" Mcafee sweep with updates, take a peek to see if you have two programs running in conflict.

I have noticed nothing unusual, I run FF, avast freeware and the Malwarebytes payed version with no problems.

trust me on this.
re install chrome after uninstalling it
and do not open ie. then you will have fixed
the problem if you have a 64 bit system.
strong hunch.
i tell you ie is impossible.

There is a boatload of internet posts regarding the iFrame loading issue. You may want to browse through them to see if a solution pops out.

Life is interesting ;-)

iFrame?

This is a reply I got when scribd stopped supporting flash and I tried an embed on a Ning network. (Ning seems to be on a steep dive slope)

Maybe it's a clue.

"Hmm, I'm not sure I'd agree that this is an oversight. We whitelist iframe domains when they get requested and then tested, and this is the first time scribd has been requested. Iframes can be pretty malicious (exposing people to phishing scams, redirects, trojans, and so forth), so we don't allow them in most places by default. You can still embed scribd code in a page or textbox, so hopefully you can link to those areas now that scribd has removed the flash embed option."

"I realize that isn't your ideal solution, so we'll see if we can't get a push on that whitelisting."

"Case History [helpcenter@ning.com 2013-04-05 23:34]
I'd say that is quite an oversight by Ning. Scribd is ranked #241 in global traffic??!!!??? So there is no work-around until then? This "whitelist" list thing sounds like something that takes forever to get changed. Thanks"

William,

Thanks for your patience. I seem to have found a "Workaround", FYI as follows. ONLY with Firefox, if I connect using a US-based VPN and set Firefox to "Select a Certificate automatically" I can view the iframes. It's a very clumsy solution and I find it difficult to believe that ONLY US based systems will allow iframes? I know you are in HKG so that clearly is NOT the case. This is an entirely new problem that I ONLY get with your pictures and only after Flickr started buggering around. I have tried to contact Flickr but never get any response.

Bill: I personally have no problems adjusting to any security/software upgrades. I've got the cleanest cache on the intertubes, lol. Cant say the same for blindman.

I use a shitload of adblocking and other functions with Tor. Tor is slow enough at peak times and it really helps to speed it up with all the ad scrubbing functions, yet I can still see all your art postings. Not sure what blindman's problem is. Perhaps it's his Google Chrome browser?

i have no problem other than the snooping nature of the
interwebs. i was referring above to the instances where
some emails i should have received, according to a i phone and
pad mate, have appeared to been "lost". whether that was avast
blocking or something else i do not know. i have no problem
viewing wb7 visual combat. chrome works, perhaps too well as
i'm sure it is recording my every stroke and recording it for
future trumped up vile prosecution if some nazi should ever
get that bee in their bonnet.

You can be sure all of these sites know or can know if desired, who is looking at whatever. That is the nature of the beast. And whatever meta-data is generated is facinating you can be sure.

The march of technology is one big Trojan Horse on personal privacy. Pretty soon they will be no more snail mail or deliverable print.

Al Q figured out long ago that there is no such thing as secure telecommunications. That is why Clapper can't point to any successes with AQ.

They are spying on all of us.

Moreoever, they are so busy spying on us that they forgot to make sure no one can spy on them. And neo-fascist morons like McCain and Feinstein think that is the real lesson to be drawn.

I think blindman is ok and it is Philipat who is currently having loading issues.

I just cleared my cachet, etc and everything loads faster.

I know where Flickr is going with this. They don't want other sites embedding their content without attribution of some kind for one thing. I suspect they will disable the ability of third parties to simply hotlink Flickr images, if they have not already done so.

I hope they will retain the simple html function as an option for members embedding their own content on other sites, but I suspect that will get chopped in due course.

In chrome when clearing cache also try clearing history "since the beginning".  Pain in the ass yes. Have found it speeds chrome up considerably.

Bill: I'll start raising money to fund your own site. Your art shouldn't be held hostage to the whims of Flickrs and other bandits.

Step up ZH'ers... Lets get WB7.com rolling. I'll start by adding $500 cash + a full tube of silver Maples. We need somebody in HK that Bill can talk to and set it up to his liking.

C'mon bitchez... step up!!!

As you know I am doing this on a shoe string and truly appreciate whatever support people have been able to share.

I am currently focused on how to take Visual Combat to the next level in the coming year.

I have to find an offshore formula that allows for simplicity, maximum security and media sharing flexibility, with some form of technical back up.

And I am on the case.

blindman, Thanks. I'm using Windows 7 (I never liked 8) and have tried IE11, Chrome and Firefox. Same problem in all with different messages. With IE the message where the picture is embedded is as follows:

"This page can’t be displayed
  • Make sure the web address https://www.flickr.com is correct.
  • Look for the page with your search engine.
  • Refresh the page in a few minutes."

It is ONLY a problem with William's pics and only since he started using Flickr. The pictures he posts with a static link, I can see but all others just show a blank space and a message, My suspicion is that it is something to do with Flickr's https code, yet nobody else seems to be having any problems, so I am at a loss.

i use the same windows 7 and chrome. it works fine.
explorer is useless.
i use ccleaner and avast to keep the thing running.
also i suggest making sure you have all the updates
from windows etc...
beyond that i can't say ...
except stay away from the other anti-virus
virus programs, norton and mcafee, ....

blinidman: Avast recently had a major program update that stopped all my emails from downloading (my websites & Yahoo dummy addresses). I've been using Avast for years but I think they dropped the ball on this latest upgrade. I had to shut off incoming mail scans because Avast wouldn't let any emails download. Could be other issues also. I haven't had time to check it out in depth.

let them know and get the latest update !
i think i have had some blocked also but in my case
it doesn't bother me much as i tend to annoy people
beyond belief with the things i link anyway and they
shy from responding. but seriously, i receive enough
email to keep me occupied. i don't have any clue how
these systems keep up with the evolved complexity and
suspect imposed simplicity will have it's day once
again.

The system of checks and balances worked well for hundreds of year......then Justice Roberts came a long.

Ohama and the NSA had a meeting with Justice Roberts....this is your life.....and this is what your life is going to be the future.

You have 6 hours to rewrite that crap......best get on it!

That is exactly what happened if i had to guess.  The opinion reads like the vote was changed at the last minute.  Roberts was threatened.  We live in dark and lawless days with a chief executive that has no sense of propriety - anthing goes, including what used to be considered high crimes and misdemeanors - yet no one apparently sees this or they do not see it as a problem.  This is not your grandfathers America.  I fear the important bits have been diluted.

with all the "law schools" in america, not a peep outta one of them about crimes of wall street, wars, drones, HLS/TSA?? what the fuck are all those lawyer phd's doing???? there was a time when they stepped up, but I guess they like the gravy much more than their legal oaths.

The Law Schools all depend on Bernanke bucks to finance their grossly bloated cost structures. They also do not want to antagonise big Wall Street firms. And, of course, their alma mater will never admit their obvious complicity in creating the giant sewer of modern finance. Behind every sleazy banksta is a hired gun.

Need I say more?

william you could say more about the legal mess of today, but just like myself it won't matter...justice is denied, the very judges and DA's and AG's across America are seen as corrupt, law is seen as corrupt..when the average person comes to understand this, then what stops the public from being lawless? it is amazing so many of us do not resort to crime, but we are guilty none the less, by omission, of our public responsiblity to demand justice.
