The Biggest Terrorism Scaremongers Are THEMSELVES the Ones Promoting Terrorism

George Washington's picture

In response to the revelation that the NSA spies on Congress, Congressman Peter King says that the NSA should spy on Congress, to make sure congress members don’t call Al Qaeda.

King is a fine one to talk … he supported the Irish Republican Army for decades, even though the IRA was designated as a terrorist group.

The heads of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees – Diane Feinstein and Mike Rogers – are always yelling ooga booga … saying that the terrorists will get us if we don’t let the NSA spy on all Americans.

Feinstein and Rogers both support Al Qaeda terrorists in Syria.  Rogers supports torture, which has been recognized for thousands of years as a form of terrorism (torture also creates new terrorists.)  And Rogers supports the widespread drone war, even though indiscriminate drone strikes are war crimes – more here and here – oh, and they create more terrorists.

Another leading scaremonger is former NSA and CIA director Michael Hayden, who has compared privacy advocates with terrorists. Hayden was one of the main supporters of the torture program, and of the “signature strike” drone assassination program, where strikes are launched purely on the behavior of ground vehicles, with no further evidence of connection to terrorism. Hayden also supported the MEK terrorist group (more on MEK below).

This type of hypocrisy has been going on for some time. We noted in 2011:

The biggest scaremongers regarding the threat from terrorism are themselves promoting terrorism.

Don’t believe me?

Well, Pulitzer-prize winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh says that the Bush administration (and especially Dick Cheney) helped to fund groups which the U.S. claims are terrorists (see confirming articles here and here).

And as the New York Times, Washington Post and others are reporting, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, former national security adviser Fran Townsend and former Attorney General Michael Mukasey – who all said that the terrorists were going to get us if we didn’t jettison the liberties granted under the Bill of Rights – are now supporting terrorists in Iran.

If you’ve forgotten how shrill these folks were, here’s some background on Giulani (and see this), Ridge, Townsend and Mukasey (and see this and this).

As Raw Story reports today:

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, former national security adviser Fran Townsend and former Attorney General Michael Mukasey all attended a forum organized by supporters of Mujaheddin-e Khalq (MEK).

The MEK is a communist group that helped Saddam Hussein carry out attacks against Iraq’s Shiite population in the 1990s. The group attacked Americans in Iran in the 1980s and helped with the 1979 takeover of the US embassy in Tehran.

The US designated the MEK a foreign terrorist organization in January 2009.

Sadly, the U.S. has actually become the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism … but the hypocritical fearmonger blowhards who promote such terror only call it terrorism when the other guy does it.

First, thank you for the ^. I don't get many of those, and to have a solid reply as well is something of an honor. Thank you for the thoughtfulness and the candor.

As for "how could he do it?", that may not be as difficult as some think. I refer you to one single name for that:

Aldrich Ames. If you know the field, you know, or know of, the case.Certainly relevant to this situation.

Another case, one that brings a level of fire into the eyes of some, is Norman Pollard. Admittedly, it is much less directly relevant.

The other aspect, the piecemeal nature of the revelations, is a very valid point. The suspicion has to do with several possibilities. A steady dribble, by design, to keep the story alive? The fact he is in Russia under the watchful eye of the FSB - which would by necessity have final say over what was released after it had been vetted (which takes how long per item)? One interesting point, very little of what has been released is actually "new" information, simply other source confirmation - is the information being released simply because it is only confirmatory?

Your questions about and related to 'Omidyar' are interesting, and I have no useful speculation to add. Definitely worth consideration.

There are a lot of agendas in this situation. I'd say win, lose, or draw, we are all finding out a lot, more from the reaction than from the revelations themselves.

Thanks again, and take care.

A steady dribble, by design...

The magic words you just used!

I'll be brief with this to close our agreement on the words you used and how you can't help but feel you're being played.

I was in Washington several months ago for a Bradley Manning rally for his release right before his sentencing, and I couldn't help but ask the organizers of this event "why" none of his attorneys brought out the comparison to the BBC news report from 2003 that showed literally the exact same crime being comitted by a U.S. Air Force F-16 with cockpit video recorder of a pilot lighting up several dozen Iraqi civilians fleeing with bombs under it's wing in -the infamous "Oh Dude" video that was declared by the BBC as a "possible war crime" which obviously was a prelude many years before PFC's collatoral damage video made it's debut? ...

Strangely no one from the BBC went to jail for that report in 2003 unlike Bradley Manning

Please excuse the redacted login account version from youtube as the full BBC broadcast version appears to have been pulled.  Hope I had something to do with that...

Those of us that have a lingering memory of the these event(s) being played out through the MSM when the war was still new we may recall that the public was given regular doses of our happy boyz in uniform killing civilians unrestrained.  Who can forget the images of our marines firing rounds into a wounded Iraqi civilian on an MSNBC broadcast in mid November of 2004 which became a PR campaign (get used to it) for our brutality and then mysteriously when the DoD saw "blowback" the images like that went completely away until youtube arrived two years later. At that point it was up to the responsible soldier to carry the torch of truth and integrity that the AP and UPI would no longer touch!

Needless to say I'm in agreement with you that it's about a controlled drip, drip, drip message only when they want you to see it or know about it so that the messenger along with the message is controlled.

The question is, which "they"?

This is playing out internationally, with real international consequences.

All the other stories and all the other whistleblowers are effectively silenced. They told their tale and that, for the rest of the world, was that. The way this is playing out, the story has real legs - and the consequences are ongoing.

Are we  being played, or is something else going on here? When you realize our society is basically ADD, doesn't this make more sense?

L'Affaire (sic) Dreyfus?

I wonder how many CIA-equipped terrorists from Syria have shifted to Iraq - along with all their weapons?

In an interview with Alan Hart of the BBC, Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir actually threatened the entire world with nuclear Armageddon.

She verified the "Samson Option" without batting an eye, much less flinching ...

Hart: "I recall the words spoken to me many years ago by Golda Meir, Mother Israel, when she was prime minister.

At a point during an interview I did with her for the BBC’s Panorama programme, I interrupted her to ask, “Prime Minister, I want to be sure I understand what you’re saying … You are saying that if Israel was ever in danger of being defeated on the battlefield, it would be prepared to take the region and the whole world down with it?"

Meir "without the shortest of pauses for reflection, and in the gravel voice that could charm or intimidate American Presidents according to need" replied: “Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying.

Hart: "Within an hour of that interview being transmitted at eight o’clock on a Monday evening, the Times (pre-Murdoch and not then a cheerleader for Zionism) had changed its lead editorial. Its new editorial quoted what Golda had said to me, [adding] its own opinion: 'We had better believe her.' I did, and still do."

Martin Van Creveld, an Israeli military expert and professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, has been quoted as saying: "Most European capitals are targets for our air force ... We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under."

We must remember - there is more to this picture.

The feds in their entirety have become nothing more than a mafia, with 'protection' being the product. Even if you did not need protection before their arrival, you will once they're here.

But, George, the MEDIA is financed and maintained by these blow-hards... I think it is going to take more than that...
