NSA Propaganda Backfires … Public Trusts Government Less Than Ever

George Washington's picture

Americans have doubted the NSA – and Obama’s intention to rein in its spying – ever since the Snowden leaks started.

People didn’t buy Obama’s “big speech”. And see this.

Polls show that – even after the speech – Americans ain’t buying NSA’s claims.

Indeed, the only effect of the NSA and White House’s massive propaganda campaign is to destroy what little remaining trust the American people still had in their government.

Indeed, government representatives have been caught lying so often – and have so blatantly disregarded what people want to help out the fatcats – that very few people like their politicians, and people are more afraid of the government than of terrorists.

The government or Washington D.C. has declared themselves as globalists and told the citizens that they are going to steal all they have and then fucking kill them. They then implemented policies to do exactly that and now they've started to kill us.

WTF are you kidding me "Trust less than ever." We are at war M'Fer. The big WWIII is here.

I don't get it...If the NSA has been spying on everyone and everything...how is it they didn't catch any Corrupted TBTF Banking or Political Terrorism?

Except a number of American Generals resigned this past year or so.....hmmmm.....maybe these guys were actually patriots about to Coup de Etat the Country back from the above corrupted entities.

They were the last of the group that would not fire on fellow Americans, now we are left with people like Patton, Eisenhower and MacArthur who did just that and were rewarded handsomely for it.

I actually heard the former NSA chief say on a Charlie Rose interview that NSA spying on American citizens is not illegal if the president tells him to do it. He said the president is elected by the people, therefore, if the president says to do something then it is not illegal.  No. shit. It was either Hayden or Alexander.

But the guy absolutely knows that is not true, yet he said it. He got no pushback from Bilderberger attendee, Rose. They are feeling the heat.

One of my biggest concerns about the NSA spying on Americans how much was being spent, because if we are spending a lot of money on this consider it a big red flag. It recently came out thanks to information leaked by  Edward Snowden that the "black budget" last year was a massive 52 billion dollars. This is the money used in "secret" spy operations, and it is enough to send shivers down the back of those that have read about the totalitarian society of Oceania described in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. In Orwell's novel, all citizens of Oceania are monitored by cameras and are fed fabricated news stories by the government. More on this subject in the post below,

In particular I found this quote very revealing:

“We have lost our gods,” says Laura Hansen, an assistant professor of sociology at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. “We lost [faith] in the media: Remember Walter Cronkite? ... We lost it in politics, because we know too much about politicians’ lives. We’ve lost it—that basic sense of trust and confidence—in everything.”

Whether the good professor realizes it, or not, she just made the case for more media/government censorship because "we know too much". How about requiring public officials be held to an extremely high standard of official conduct (avoiding even the appearance of impropriety)... or face prosecution for their malfeasance? Might that restore our trust?

We need more information, not less, Laura. And the only place for faith is in church...

but, goddamit if i'm not a tad disappointed...i mean to say, a cat 5 hurricane capable of destroying whole nation-states with a single burst is more apropos the august dignity of janus...but i let it pass (much like a storm); i accept the honor; and i go about my business.

okay, i am blushing...i took the night off to reciprocate -- so here's a song in the spirit of reciprocity, to all those in authority, who see janus ridin-high in the saddle, chest out and eye a'gleam, chargin at Destiny:

it has come to my attention that, should i endeavor to speak directly to the people, i may be greased.  WTF?  okay, this message wasn't delivered with malice, or ill-will nor was it predicated with "words" that would trigger in janus a recognition that i've provoked the ire of those who truly matter.

no doubt about it, i actively stoke the white-hot flames of fury in the hearts of my enemies; but they are themselves constrained by protocols and principals they've sworn to. so, for any of you concerned that janus is exposed (or will by speaking be perilously exposed) to harm, i want to assure you that the only fuckers that could possibly be loosed on me are the same hapless ilk that, for example, forged this 'birth certificate' we have from our 'president'...third-tier derelicts, junkies, faggots and feckless imbeciles.  i welcome their challenge; and, though i'm not a betting man, i'd put lotsa dough on janus in such a scenario. all the same, a real professional could (without doubt) get the better of me.  but no one nor any entity can sanction such an op...it's just not how things are done.  not even the president has a private army.  thank God, in some ways, this is still the United States of America.

besides which, i've breached containment...you derelicts, faggots and imbeciles wanted a huckleberry?....well, i'll happily be your huckleberry.

what if you miss?

here's the story of saul, King David and the mighty miss:

i expect you're all familiar with the david & goliath story; the philistines, late-antiquity, the Bible & its relevant allegory and all other such-like elements of wisdom?...right-right, very good then.

as you all know, david did with his sling exquisitely execute goliath; he returned to the city of peace a conquering hero; saul (the benjaminte king) gave unto him in reward for the blood of the giant from gath a princess for his first bride (who was a contentious and quarrelsome lass), micah.

as it stands, david is now installed in saul's court; he has the king's daughter (micah) for bride; and jonathan, his bestest amigo, is first in line viz. HRM in the realm of catholic israel...that is to say, the sovereign prince of israel is his closest friend and fiercest supporter -- back when all 12 tribes functioned as a single nation.

saul didn't know; jonathan didn't know; micah didn't know; nobody but david and samuel knew that the next king of israel wasn't gonna be a benjamite.  the next king was in court, strummin a harp, keepin all there listenin sweetly entertainted.

and then it came to pass....

saul, sensing something was amiss...knowing that the tectonic plates of fate were beneath his very feet shifting, trusting not whether left or right to favor...did then lift his royal spear, aim in anger, toss & did but pin david's un-ermined coat against the wall; a development that naturally startled the divine prince to scatter; and so the young king without a kingdom was forced to from there flee over acrost jordan...off unto a strange land...off to feign madness...hide in the cave of adullam...off to build rebel army...off to pray...and, ultimately, to wait on king saul's folly to collapse in upon itself.

ultimately it did.  david told saul he could'a killed him any time he liked...but he waited on God to do the dirty work for him...which God did -- and did He evah!...and in the Grand Style God's known for, i should add.  you see, saul died the coward that he was...aflight from battle and his own army, his flesh stung by a stray arrow, one aimed along the Divine arc of righteous judgement, at ole king saul, whilst he was'a speeding away heroically in the regal chariot.  after he was hit, he panicked, thought over his choices, accepted that he was a pussy, and optioned what came natural for one so tremulous & afraid of what the heathern may to him in captivity do; saul requested his steward's sword, and ran it up his own gullet.  suicide by dint of fear -- perfectamundo for the jack-ass tender spawn of benjamin.

saul deserved worse than he got...it's a good thing God has mercy; some of us, at least for the sauls of the world, have very little to none.

in summary, as storm janus squalls and swirls about, i'll say that Janus prays God's mercy for all you sauls out there; cause i haven't any...best hope He gits to ya before i do.

suicide is the easy way out,

Wouldn' t it be so sad for an NSA empolyee to doubt the constitutionality of what he is doing. Think how terrible it would be if he got it in his head that he, the individual, (you), is exactly equivalent to a petty bureaucrat reporting on human lamp shade skin production at Auschwitz. Can you imagine a NSA employee seeing linkages to his participation in a fundamentally EVIL effort, really thinking about it on sleepless nights?

Sure, it is nice to have a job but don't think for a minute that you'll have a seat in the life raft. The bastard you work for will bump you in a minute because you and he know that you are both scum and are actively destroying the idea of America.

Great.  Now if we could turn the American public's attention to CORPORATIONS (Monsanto, GE, Haliburton, etc.) and achieve a similar Epiphany, we're half way home!  Connect the dots -- GOV and CORP -- and we've arrived, finally.  Then what?  Suggestions welcome should this stellar, if low likelihood scenario plays out.  (Has GW figured out the WHO behind 9-11 yet?  Just curious.)

That is the way that I would guess too, PhilofOZ.

However, we can be more sure of which American politicians were necessary to cooperate in order to make the overall events on 9/11 possible to be carried through by whomever actually did those deeds. Furthermore, it is also a public record regarding who were the politicians, or people with politically appointed powers, that were necessary to make sure to participate in making the subsequent cover-up be successful.

There are two different, but interlocking sets of operators. The first were the people that were directly involved in what it took to orchestrate the actual mass murders on 9/11. Within that first group are those people who were indirectly involved in making sure that those who were directly doing that would not be stopped by anything or anybody else. The second group are those who participated in the cover-up, so that no proper investigations would ever be allowed to be done, while the official story would be repeated, as if it were correct.

After one looks at the available information, it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to believe in the official story, because the way that the three World Trade Center buildings suddenly collapsed violates the laws of physics, and common sense about the substance steel, in those steel frame buildings. AFTER one is forced to conclude that the official story is absurd nonsense, then one starts looking into what might have actually been a more consistent story with all of the available information ... However, in the end, we are stuck with the situation that the real world is controlled by the principles and methods of organized crime, while figuring out that the government participates in that system does not then provide much practical difference to that fait accompli.

Most N Americans have no concept of terrorism.

I grew up in UK when the IRA (who were good at what they did) were putting bombs all over the place.

In my home town there's a memorial to 2 kids blown to pieces while shopping for gifts the day before Mother's Day - the really nice touch was a second bomb a couple of hundred yards awy, timed a few minutes after the first.

Buggers missed me by about 15 - 20 seconds once - gives me the 'willies' still.

All you can do is carry on as normally as possible.

But then one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Depends on who you listen to and which side of things you find yourself.

We Vanquish Terrorism When We Tap Into the Huge Reserve of Courage Within Each One of Us, and Refuse To Be Terrorized pretty much nails it.

Wishing to avoid a fight is not always enough. The British atrocities against the Irish are legion…

“If the British would have stayed in their own land we would love them well, for we’ve much in common, but freedom we must have.”

Those are the words of young Tatton Chantry of Irish nobility in Louis L’Amour’s book Fair Blows the Wind who left Ireland to make his fortune and regain the land that was rightfully his after the British killed his father, burned his home and confiscated the land. The story, fiction based on research, takes place probably in the late 1600’s and early 1700s.

It’s hard to reason with an occupier who is trying to kill you, debilitate your youth by refusing them an education, banning you from speaking your native language and confiscating your land.

Ireland has had a difficult history. For instance, in the period above, young Irishmen of family had to leave Ireland, going abroad to join the armies of France, Spain, Italy and others. Having no future in Ireland, not allowed an education, not permitted by England to have an army, they fled overseas….

It was the Tudors, attempting to unify their realm, who banned the Irish from speaking their own language in the late 16th century.

Writes Andrew Carnie, University of Calgary and University of California, Santa Cruz, in a paper entitled Modern Irish: A Case Study in Language Revival Failure:

“The year 1609 marks the start of the plantation of Ireland, staring under the rule of James 1. English speaking Protestant settlers, mainly from Scotland, were settled in the rich farmland. The largest and most successful of these was the Ulster Plantation. The Irish-speaking Catholics native of the plantation areas were evicted and displaced to less hospitable land. These plantation areas became almost exclusively English-speaking. In 1633 the Cromwellian government cleared much of the Irish-speaking nobility of Leinster and Munster and heavily settled these areas…

“In 1879 primary schools were finally permitted to teach Irish, but only outside of school hours.  In 1900, primary schools were finally allowed to teach Irish inside school hours, but only if they met certain standards. Unfortunately, owing to the poverty and remoteness of many of the gaeltachtas, most schools did not meet these standards…

“1922 marks the foundation of the Irish Free State and the division of Ireland into two sections (the Free State and Northern Ireland)…in 1937 Irish was officially declared the south’s ‘first language’ in the constitution.”

Among the atrocities to keep Ireland in British hands….

On 9 August 1920, the British Parliament passed the Restoration of Order in Ireland Act during the Anglo-Irish War. It replaced the trial by jury by courts-martial by regulation for those areas in Ireland where IRA activity was prevalent.[18] To break the Irish Republican Army, Winston Churchill, then UK Secretary of State for War, suggested recruiting World War I veterans into paramilitary units. Lloyd George agreed and advertisements were filed in British newspapers. Former enlisted men were formed into the Black and Tans, so called because of their mixture of British Army and police uniforms…” (Wikipedia)

Several poets were among the first Irish leaders who took over the city of Dublin in April 1916 and subsequently were shot by the English.

Wrote Irish master storyteller Frank O’Connor  (born in 1903) in the book an “An Only Child” about his early year in the Irish rebellion:

“One of them, Patrick Pearse, on the night before the execution had written some poems, one of them to his mother – which showed him a man of feeling – and another, which contained lines I still remember:

The beauty of this world hath made me sad –
This beauty that will pass.
Sometimes my heart hath shaken with great joy
To see a leaping squirrel in a tree,
Or a red ladybird upon a stalk…

The beauty of this world”…his last remaining thoughts before his execution…

Parrotile,

i recognize what you're saying as truth...but, understand, that was hemispheric vs. genetic tensions twisting in the wind and flapping to some queer resolution...nothing good came of any of it.

perhaps we'll have a grand rematch of argentina & the UK in this year's world cup...jolly good show; and i'd from it expect nothing less.

please, however, concede that the faulklands were/are a small scrap in the grand scheme...you got the north-sea drill right about the same time -- twern't no accident.

and now we suddenly have venezula and argentina on the same side -- each of them surrounded; each of them crippled and stunted -- such that they'll fall together.

the hemisphere is now secure; the ME matters little (in a relative manner); the center of the board is now in play...and God bless us all as all sides scramble.

no matter & whatever, WE are always brothers...at least. that's my way of appraising things.

Yup, they missed me by about 3-4 minutes with the Warrington gas-works bombing, too. I was at band practice (bassplayer) at a studio across the road and my car was parked next to the fence of the gas-works. Had collected it and started loading my gear when the bomb went off. The blast shattered a cast iron waste bin that was right next to where I'd parked. If I'd been at the car at the time, would likely have shattered me, too.

The Brit's are pretty good at underhanded behaviour - they've been at it for a long time.

I'm guessing you've heard of the Enigma code machines used by Germany in WW2.

The Brits cracked it reasonably regularly after 1940 or there abouts, but this was kept secret for 40 years.

Here's the good bit.

At the end of WW2 they gathered up as many as they could and gave them away to lots of governments around the world (mostly Commonwealth countries - but some others) as a 'secure' method of communication. They then went on to spy on them!

NSA just has more tech (as does GCHQ, these days) - the intent, however is the same.

Without Snowden, none of this would have come out.

Whistleblowing would not have worked, since Obama (and GW before), knew and approved of what was being done, constitutional or not.

Whistleblowing only works if the person in charge does not know what is going on. Example - defense contractors billing the government for services not performed.

Boy do I know about that one. Imagine a computer company that isn't IBM but has a very similar 3-letter abbreviation... those fuckers routinely billed for physical repair and maintenance and virus/security checks on computers that didn't really exist. This was enabled by the fact that they'd VERY cynically stamped the serial number of the defence-specific machines on the (bog standard!) PC power supply rear panel, not on the case itself. So a bit of judicious power supply swappage and you could bill for 10 machines when only 6 were actually in physical existence; over time parts do legitimately fail, so it was easy enough to 'build' a new machine from dead parts with legitimate serial numbers that sat on the 'awaiting repair' shelf and could have parts billed against them - at the usual 650% defence contractor mark-up, of course.

The lack of credibility is so bad that conspiracy theories about the moon landing being faked are starting to make sense.  Yes, I rember the lunar footprints in the soft dust of the moon, you would expect there to be some small-craters underneath the lunar lander from the landing rockets slowing the desent.  Where are they? Damn spooky when things start making moar sense.
