The new Government Series II Les Paul guitar – produced in “government tan” color – features actual rosewood that was seized by the federal government during two raids in Nashville."
Some of you may recall my posts regarding this matter. Why is it so easy to harass a productive guitar company and not a parasitic racketeering TBTF bank.

Mmmmore flo white with unkown possible Les Paul " Stimulus, the Debtors Lament"yeah I was sorry for the by-the-hour guys on the production line when they were getting jacked by the gov't for the wood issue... Henry, not so much. I chalked it up to his "karma" at the time... another discussion.
My gtr buddy says to "really nail it" would be a speed-metal retro-punk band with jamie on "your" gtr, and the rest of the usual suspect-illums filling out the band.
I said we gotta write just the right song to carry the message, and just 3D render the live act on a computer complete with a 60's-rear-stage projection-screen montage of select haunting wb7 images. Maybe a cover of arthur brown's FIRE would be appropriate, but I'd rather write our own and not give that copyright any mech/sync royalties. Just spit-balling... but more than halfway serious. We do have the technology and the skills.
The gubmint never gave back the ebony fretboards, only the rosewood. If you can find a model with an ebony fretboard, you have a collectible. I have an ES 137 custom. Hoping that the pre-seizure ebony fretboard adds a premium.
I've always envied you guitar players... beautiful instruments... the sheer physicality of the shred... I'm unfortunately locked into the land of equal temperment, but I still wave my freak flag.
