Reddit Censors Big Story About Government Manipulation and Disruption of the Internet
The moderators at the giant r/news reddit (with over 2 million readers) repeatedly killed the Greenwald/Snowden story on government manipulation and disruption of the Internet … widely acknowledged to be one of the most important stories ever leaked by Snowden.
Similarly, the moderators at the even bigger r/worldnews reddit (over 5 million readers) repeatedly deleted the story, so that each new post had to start over at zero.

why are you outraged w/ reddit when zerohedge does the same? including banning commenters, deleting accounts, removing comments? that's the world we live in. every site has its own agenda and taboos. for example, zh does not appreciate when commenters expose zionists in government and banking.

Trav777 was an over-the-top obnoxious prick and an egregious troll who repeatedly, if not usually, swarmed almost every thread and masterfully managed to utterly derail most of them with his filthy, racist, anti-negro diatribes. He was rightfully banned, and I fully support ZH having banned him, along with a handful of other malicious trolls (such as WilliamtheBastard, TexasGunslinger, etc. etc.) who not only added nothing to the conversation, but consistently undermined meaningful conversation.
The true troll ALWAYS deserves to be banned, just as the screaming infant demands to be removed from the wedding ceremony.
Sorry, akak, just can't agree with you on this one. Trav had strong opinions which he didn't hesitate to express, and those opinions were unpopular. That's why he was banned (read, censored).
I didn't agree with quite a bit of what he said, in fact I sometimes found him rather offensive (as much for his abrasive style as the opinions themselves). But I never once advocated silencing him, and still don't.
Francis was banned for saying the forbidden word one too many times. That word is Jew.
The Tylers are between a rock (having ZH dismissed as a watering hole for antisemites) and a hard place (censorship or chilling effect).
So far, the shoals and reefs of both international banking and Middle East politics have been reasonably well navigated.
We are still quite free to say what needs to be said..

Racism never bothers me because it only reflects the sickness and damage of an individual's heart and mind. Only the individual can choose to undo the poison they have swallowed. Some do. Most don't. To brand them "racist" only causes them to hold onto their views more ferociously so I tend to ignore and leave them to stew in their own bile. Hatred will never be mollified by hatred my friend.

Never heard of Reddit before reading your article. They, apparently, are not very honest. I read Zerohedge and Janet Tavakoli.
Reddit used to be very good. Recently it has suffered a bout of censorship that will only continue to escalate until users go elsewhere. Then the censorship cycle can continue anew similar to the exodus from digg to reddit.
Even Captain Kirk is trying to sensor moderate Reddit.

I have never visited Reddit, but this kind of heavy-handed censorship, and general intolerance towards non-mainstream views, closely mirrors my (past) experiences in the Kitco forum, which is as monitored, censored and managed a gulag of a forum as I have ever seen on the Internet --- aside, of course, from KKKarl Denninger's joke of a 'forum', in which any non-Karl-conforming opinions are immediately deleted, along with their posters. "I ban you!", LOL.
I remember reading a forum a couple years back, that had sprung up almost out of nowhere, and was just a huge, fairly professionally designed and operated site, abovetopsecret.com
Didn't take long to figure out the whole thing was operated by intelligence agencies. What better way to 'manage' conspiracy theories and disinformation, than to operate the very site where such theories are centralized, discussed, and propagated?
Which is also why censorship of user comments on ZH is of concern...
