I am not a classically trained man, having successfully avoided Shakespeare most of my life. But even an ignorant man, such that I am, is eventually exposed to Shakespearian clichés during the normal course of his life. The title of this piece is one such example that has crossed my path on several occasions, the latest being last night as Mrs. Cog and I watched the final episode of the second season of Netflix’s “House of Cards”.
What interesting propaganda that ‘programming’ is; the depiction of husband and wife sociopaths as almost human, possibly even endearing, certainly flawed and vulnerable at times. While sharing this series with Mrs. Cog over the last few weeks, what continuously fascinated me was how they both were able to near seamlessly cast aside the ‘normal’ confines of morality, duty and honor for political expediency and the pursuit of power.
This included at times an open marriage, though not necessarily simply in pursuit of mindless carnal pleasure. Each marriage ‘partner’ understood their own role in the marriage ‘business’, and while it was obvious that they loved and were devoted to each other, they both understood that ‘political expediency’ required certain sacrifices or undertakings unique to their sex, position or capability.
When called upon to do so, both understood that it was just ‘business’ (though there was nothing wrong with taking a little pleasure in your business) and in fact at times the act itself, whatever it may be, was discussed and planned between the two partners prior to being executed. Of particular note, there were often veiled references to an agreement between them made years, decades, ago that each would from time to time be called upon to step outside the traditional bounds of marriage, law, and what you and I might refer to as ‘common decency’, in order to further their shared goal………power.

If anything this non-traditional approach seemed to bind them even closer to one another. The very actions that might tear a ‘normal’ relationship asunder seemed at times to strengthen theirs, apparently because they both shared a common goal and understood that in order to succeed, or at least to greatly improve their chances of success, they would need, individually and collectively, to do what nearly all others would not.
Interestingly, what you and I might label as flaws of character they saw as assets to be used against those of us more encumbered by social graces and a disabling moral conscience. As I was once told by someone who was trying to ‘inspire’ me, successful people do the things unsuccessful people will not. Of course he wasn’t advocating transgressing moral or legal boundaries, just picking up the damn phone and making another cold call, thus the true reason for my abject failure in life. Clearly I have no killer instinct.
While most who watch this couple in action might consider them horribly dysfunctional, and I most certainly would not desire a relationship such as that with Mrs. Cog, the process as depicted of single minded pursuit of power by those whom we would label as sociopaths was fascinating to watch. And judging by what I see, hear and read coming out of Wall Street, Washington DC and multinational corporate boardrooms, as well as other centers of power all over the globe, this fictional portrayal is completely believable.
We morally self constrained peons are in so much trouble.
The phrase “Cry ‘Havoc!’, and let slip the dogs of war” was uttered by the principal character of “House of Cards” at a critical juncture, when it became clear that after years of careful planning, backstabbing, shifting political alliances and general mayhem, all in the pursuit of power, everything was in jeopardy of falling apart. The choice was clear; to throw caution to the wind and put it all on the table, or be cast aside as useless debris, expected collateral damage among the mid level omnipotent during the never ending War between the Gods.

In an earlier scene, when informed by the husband that the situation was precarious and he was losing control, the wife, indignant that the husband was letting her down, angrily told him that he was scared and to do whatever it took to make it happen. This was clearly an equal partnership and one of the partners had just dressed down the other. It was business, no more, no less. Get to work!
Fortified, emboldened and now fearless, a plan was cobbled together and flawlessly executed not to wrestle power from the hands of another, but to enable it so that the ‘other’ willingly, almost gratefully, handed power to him. In the end, the now self deposed leader thanked the sociopath for all his help and support as he handed the reins of power to his ‘friend’, blissfully unaware of what actually had just happened and who the enemy really was. Simply brilliant and so familiar to anyone who carefully watches the modern day social control systems in action.
I did a little research into the “Cry Havoc” phrase this morning. While the context in which it was spoken essentially defined the meaning, I wanted to understand where it came from and how it was originally used. William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” is where this particular utterance originated, though it seems there are several interpretations as to what exactly was being said.
‘Havoc’ was, and hopefully no longer is among ‘civilized’ war machines, a military order permitting the seizure of spoil after a victory. It could also be seen as simply a metaphorical use to declare that war or combat had begun. To ‘let slip’ meant to unleash or release, while the ‘dogs of war’ could either be a literal interpretation of ‘war dogs’ or more likely the release of soldiers of war from ‘moral’ and/or legal constraints in order to rape, pillage and plunder.

After all, one must ‘pay’ the soldiers any way you can if you don’t want them to turn on you. Doing so in this manner centuries, millennium, ago was an accepted ‘business’ practice and just the way the world worked. In fact, while I may for the most part be ignorant of Shakespeare (I watched “Shakespeare in Love”….does that count?) I am not uninformed of world history over the last several thousands of years…….at least the widely accepted ‘written-by-the-winners’ version disseminated by the education control system.
Even if certain events or outcomes as outlined by mainstream ‘history’ textbooks did not actually play out as outlined, the methods used and the mindset adopted by the participants was, and is, very real. “We the People’ bemoan the corruption, lawlessness, cronyism, collusion, deception, the wholesale rape, pillage and plunder by the 1% for the 1% as abhorrent and entirely unacceptable. Seen from the perspective of world history, such a point of view might be a tad naïve.
Are the present-day actions of the 1% so outrageous that they should be hung from the rafters, or the nearest stout oak tree limb if a glorious public spectacle is required, for their egregious transgressions? Or have “We the People” been slowly and carefully domesticated over the last few centuries, psychologically conditioned and genetically bred for mindless passivity in the face of danger, then recently fattened up (literally and figuratively) for slaughter because killing time is near?
All I truly know is that my only defense in the face of such destructive behavior by those presently in power is to face them with a clear mind and a strong heart. And to do this I must shed myself of many, if not all, of my preconceived notions of how the world works based upon how I was propagandized into believing it should work. If I feed at the trough, because that is what all cattle do, then I will be slaughtered in the killing house, because that is what all cattle do.
There are no magic bullets to load, no red pills to swallow, no charismatic leader to follow to the Promised Land. We have been, and continue to be, leveraged in such a way as to willingly, gratefully even, hand over our own sovereign power to those who, in turn, will use it to lead us into the slaughter house. I, for one, am no longer willing to do so. How about you?
Free the mind and spirit, and the body will naturally follow.

Cog, haven't read other's comments (yet), but if you are an abject failure, it is clear to me that I never even existed. I love your mind. Carry on, and fail often. It's how we learn. Glad to hear you're not classically trained (though I would've guessed it true) because higher education seems to have morphed in the last few decades into a kind of preparation (or selection process) for membership into a clannish cult.
Tell Mrs. Cog 'hi' for me.
Hi Ace. I love his mind too. ;-)
We have that in common. I've been married for 36 years to a woman who unequivocally loves me, but thinks I'm batshit crazy.
I must admit, she's probably right.
".....because higher education seems to have morphed in the last few decades into a kind of preparation (or selection process) for membership into a clannish cult."
Just another control system.
And Mrs. Cog says "Hi" back.
edit: Oh, there she is now. Hi honey!
Speaking of the "Dogs of War" and who initiates them, especially when the ones pulling the strings will have nothing to do with the people that will die in them...
Meet the Israeli/Zionist Lobby at it's finest.
The most maligned breed in the history of man ready to pull out a violin with a collection plate at the ready as the most persecuted souls the World has ever known that has the unmitigated gall and yes "Chutzpah" to fund Neo-Nazis that killed more than 80 (who knows at this point how many more) and injured hundreds in Ukraine, and at the same time collect a 93 year old bag of bones to prison for "alleged" crimes “against humanity” committed 69 years ago as another blind PR stunt before starting a World War?
The Devil needs to take credit for making a deal with the Almighty to take control of the most odious and contemptible of souls the World has ever known along with the Christians who are even worse that follow them!
Ya know people fall down stairs all the time. Just sayin. Metaphoricaly speaking of course. Sometimes you must deal with these types. I just tell them right after gut and blead speach. You can f with me but you wont like it. They must know they will pay a heavy price. Thats whats wrong with this planet these types are not being held accountable. They will allways be around they just cant be allowed to get off with/on it. Yes some of them do get off on it. Those are the ones that need to fall down the stairs.
"Ya know people fall down stairs all the time. Just sayin. Metaphoricaly speaking of course."
Hopefully you mean those brutally hard steel and poured concrete commercial stairwells that change direction back and forth at each landing so the head can smash into the hard concrete block wall at the bottom as opposed to those namby pamby carpeted residential stairs with the soft cushioned carpet at the bottom. :-)
/sarc of course
Stadium stairs. All kidding aside. That one gets away with it only emboldens the others.
Great works. Thank you Cog.
Here is someone crying havoc for ya. These masked instigators will not stop until they are stopped. What is more galling than anything is the American people are paying these asshat killers with hard earned tax dollars to start world war three.
The American People do not support the illegal govt leadership in Washington, DC, nor do they support the constant warmongering for the evil zionist banksters that own them all. We the American People want all our troops to come home and guard OUR borders, and not every other border in the world. Support the Troops! Bring them ALL home to their families NOW! End the useless endless wars for the banksters and evil war machine makers NOW! All the warring that the American ZIO-CON govt leaders have been doing IS NOT SUPPORTED AT ALL!
Act of War: Ukrainian Officer Shot Dead In Military Base Raid: “Unknown Forces, Fully Equipped and Their Faces Covered”

Cruel, cruel world. There is no king, no master, no savior, no politician, no parent replacement who'll protect you without exploiting your consent. Power always corrupts. The basic human weakness is its hope for successful dependency or trust. The salt lick my neighbor puts out for the deer is not his kindness. Justice is a fantasy employed by governments, or courts, or religions, or demagogues to entrap the gullible. Justice to deer is different than justice to wolves. Fairness is a childish perversion of the justice fantasy. Man beware man or woman.
"Cruel, cruel world."
As I ever so slightly infer in the piece, considering 'history' is chock full of instances of the cruel cruel world lesson being repeatedly applied, maybe the greatest con ever pulled was the "We the People" myth that cruelty has been suspended.
"We the People" was the promise and the fantasy.
I'm so glad I read all the comments, because they made such fine accompaniments and counterpoints to the main essay, which I almost described as a literary 'rendition' before I realised that word has long since been hijacked by the psychopaths. Let's call it a symphony of ideas then, a complex melody that resonates so strongly with me. Well done.
I haven't seen the tv series CD mentioned, but like a few others here I am fond of the bard who I must confess bored and confused me in equal measures when I first encountered him in my youth. These days, I find myself voluntarily memorising bits of his material for my own amusement. Particularly Hamlet, that king of melancholy whose long monologues contain some surprisingly modern sounding vernacular. 'What a piece of work is a man..'
Reading the anecdotes from the regulars here, from people I always seek out in the comments, it seems my personal experiences with sociopaths and psychopaths are paltry indeed in comparison. Maybe I'm a bad judge of character but I don't think I've ever known one. Desperate people, angry people, weird people, nasty people, people who generally go out of their way to make the lives of others as miserable as they can, yep, I've met plenty of those, but I'm not sure I've ever known a genuine dangerous psycho. If I encounter a particularly difficult person, I rationalise that we all have bad days, and who's perfect anyway?
So maybe if I ever do encounter a murdering psycho, I'll just be another stupid victim, but living in suspicion and fear of every potential suspect doesn't seem all that attractive to me. I'll take every stranger I meet in the journey of life as a potential friend. I do however recognise clinical psychosis in those with power, from the preening morons in uniform with guns to the bureaucrats with delusions of greatness and the figures behind them who impose their will to shape the world to their whims because they can. I recognise them and their mental illness by what they leave behind: Death, suffering, misery, and lives ruined with physical and mental scars. The detritus of wars, resource thefts, economic debts and incitements to hate each other. Nothing exemplifies that better than the creatures they have supported and installed in the Kiev regime at this very moment in time.
"I'm not sure I've ever known a genuine dangerous psycho." You're a lucky man. Our experiences differ. Perhaps, you had nothing they desired, feared or craved?
I've worked at a merchant bank (when there was such a thing), ran my own business, went back to academia where I currently do consultancy work for the private sector on the side. I've even worn a uniform for my country in my youth. I have a tendency to avoid people and situations I don't like, which may sound deceptively simple and easy but I don't think many people have the luxurious option of choosing the people they must work with or serve.
You're probably right. I am actually quite innocuous. I'm not wealthy nor do I crave power or desire to be near it. I guess it pays to have nothing the psychopaths desire or fear. Knock on wood - hope it stays that way. ;)
beware, look no further than the mirror.
".......it seems my personal experiences with sociopaths and psychopaths are paltry indeed in comparison. Maybe I'm a bad judge of character but I don't think I've ever known one."
I don't know what industries or professions you have worked in or frequently interacted with, but those whom 'we' might label as sociopaths tend to cluster where there is power, influence and/or a cash register that is not well guarded.
And as was very well stated in a comment above, many of them wear sheep's clothing while most of the rules are being enforced, so they might not be readily apparent to you and me. And possibly to themselves as well.
That last sentence is quite deep. So far I've been lucky or blind to the dangers around me. Possibly both. We project ourselves on to others and I think it is a failing of mine to believe everyone is decent underneath, sometimes even when evidence indicates otherwise. I'll give it some thought.
I think if the assholes in charge had figured out a way from getting themselves killed this time around it woulda already been a done deal. Of course I suspect greed and big balls to press the issue in the end.
I need a beer.
Great thoughts, CD. Enjoyed reading it from beginning to end. Not confusing at all to the like minded reader.
Now the question on everyone's mind would have to be whether or not you are leaving the straight and narrow path after this discovery? Are you taking your own lesson to heart and willing to compromise for the sake of your personal benefit?
What will it be, CD? Does Mrs. Cog approve and lend support either way? How does it benefit (your) children to teach them a history that's "written by the winner" and to exploit the cattle, the loser? I personally don't like my children dumbed down but I wouldn't want to see them committing crimes or frauds either. The path lies in the middle IF there is a middle...
"Now the question on everyone's mind would have to be whether or not you are leaving the straight and narrow path after this discovery?"
I'm not entirely certain what you mean. What straight and narrow path might I, or might I not, be leaving?
You said it best yourself
Abandon the moral constraints and become potentially much more successful than the rest. Isn't that the quintessence of your findings? Either don't get caught or have your ducks in a row to afford the best defense money can buy. Better yet, be in a position where those who could seek to destroy you have more to fear from going after you. That's how the elite has maintained their power and control for such a long time.
That bit about the "open marriage" is just a means to an end.
I'm not advocating to anyone they change their ways and become ruthless psychopath like individuals just for the sake of becoming successful. Just pointing out as you suggested that there never was another way and there probably never will be another way to rise into the top. You have to abandon your moral compass and lie, cheat, steal and bend over for the higher-ups, beat and stomp down on the lower rungs of the ladder.
Good people in power don't last. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. It's a sad, sad world we live in when you really think about how we have "progressed".
CD always gives a great point of view to observe a situation from. And add in radical marijuana's thoughts too! How did we get so lucky?
I always enjoy and benefit from reading RM. Not always sure I agree with his view, but s/he is most definitely passionate.
i am so tired of the overuse misuse and general meaninglessness of the term "sociopath"
human beings are both predators, sheeps, and otherwise a mixture of the two to some degree. some more of one some more of the other, and they all come in different variations of these themes.........
to call people 'sociopath' all the time, as if that has any meaning actually show s a sheepish inability to describe that which is bothering people.
instead of just calling wall street folks sociopaths---you can just say some of them are more or less greedy, and just because some of them are this way---doesn't necessarily mean they've become very succesful. i would however concede that the very most succesful are by necessity characterized by those qualitites allowing them to reach the top of the pile.
why is it that 'sociopathy' is an invented 'bad word' to describe to some extent that which is intractable about the human enterprise. NOT ALL HUMAN ENTERPRISE CAN BE COOPERATIVE AND NOT ALL COMPETITIVE. for if all enterprise cuold be exclusively confined to the former or the latter forms of pursuit---than all enterprise would be destroyed.
we are not the eloi and we are not the morlocks. we are human being, there is some saintliness and some satanliness in all of us.
and the quest to hold the over-lords to account for their thefts and schemes is not advanced by pidgeon holing a characture of satan as a means of describing them.
think --the banality of evil by hannah arendt. socio paths blablabal. so tiring.
Thank you for your feedback.
Clearly you are new to ZH and my work. Please take a moment and discover what I have written over the last 5 years.
While I agreed with almost everything in the article, I feel that it fails to comprehend how the slaughter house has been amplified by a few hundred years of exponentially accelerating industrial revolution. During my life time, that globalized abattoir has been amplified to astronomical sizes.
I have always regarded politics as being based on the bullshit of bullies. Therefore, I have never agreed that we "hand over our own sovereign power to those who, in turn, will use it to lead us into the slaughter house." Therefore, of course, "I, for one, am no longer willing to do so."
However, it was during the runaway nuclear arms race between the USA and the USSR, that peaked in 1986, that I decided to try to participate in the registered political processes, as a way to try to cope with the fact that there were already an abundance of weapons of mass destruction, and more being added to that stockpile all the time. Doing that quickly led me to follow the money to its SOURCE!
Since our reality is a globalized system of electronic fiat money frauds, backed by atomic bombs, and other weapons of mass destruction, all personal notions about "sovereignty" are pretty silly, since they are orders of magnitude too small to cope with the nature of that problem! Almost everyone continues to be able to live inside the nostalgic nonsense of the romantic fantasy worlds that were portrayed throughout human history, where winning wars was possible and profitable. There is almost nothing inside of our political and psychological habits that has actually adapted to our technologies becoming trillions of times more powerful. Instead, we are drifting on social inertia, with mostly the same old action patterns, reinforced by history, when it was possible to still win wars.
RM, you are far ahead of the curve and not everyone is on the same page as you are. One mind at a time RM. That is how real, substantial, permanent change is created.
I hold no illusions that the entire world will be different when I wake tomorrow. But I do have every reason to think one or more souls will be. It is an exponential curve of awakening we are on. It just doesn't feel that way at the moment because we are presently on the gently rising portion.
Perhaps you might consider how to help those far behind you catch up?
Well, CD, an ironic aspect of the situation is that a main reason why I bother to post my comments on Zero Hedge is that I have been practically forced to give up on any practical way to "help those far behind catch up." The readership of Zero Hedge has selected from a small group, another even smaller group who may understand what I am writing. Otherwise, in the world at large, I feel like we have run out of time. Although I have often found that people will finally understand what I have been saying 10 or 20 years later, however, since the world is changing at an exponential rate, that seems to take way too long.
The only thing I am doing these days is working on Canadian Electoral District Associations to develop the potential in the political contribution tax credit, which is what I have been working on for the last 30 years. That was what happened after I worried about atomic bombs enough to become involved in registered politics, which then immediately led to looking at the ways that the money funding politics had been controlling things. Since that is theoretically the most important issue in the background, I have been working on that. BUT, from a practical point of view, everything I have done for 30 years has actually been demonstrating the degree to which the runaway systems of legalized lies, backed by legalized violence, are now too far gone to be fixed.
Yet, meanwhile, it is still somewhat amusing to watch the psychotic breakdown of pot prohibition taking place, with the tipping point in public opinion being hit only last year ... After several decades of working on that issue to "help those far behind catch up," I have come to the overall conclusion that that is too little, too late, and too trivial to matter much anymore.
The problem is that after one gets "far ahead of the curve," then one realizes that we have already crashed on that tragic trajectory. These days, I barely feel any more motivation to help people skip ahead in the book to get to the page that I am on now, because I would rather that I had not already read through that book, since I have always found that the more I learned, and the bigger the picture that I looked at, the worse it got. Therefore, I sympathize with people who do not want to know what I know, but would rather remain blissfully ignorant. Moreover, from a practical political point of view, the vast majority are going to stay like that anyway, living inside the fantasy world presented to them by the mass media.
I can not possibly compete with the Canadian 100 billion dollar per year political propaganda machines, much less the American trillion dollar per year political propaganda machines, which mass media have been brainwashing people to believe in bullshit for generation after generation. Instead, my audience is something less than potentially about 0.000001% of the population at the present time: not quite nothing, but next to nothing.
RM:
Well if it helps ... even a little, I am with you.
And I have some great bug out places marked out just across the lake if need be.

"...Bjornstrom only took supplies for survival, other than he stole what the crown compiled into a very long list of fire-arms, a lot of which he had returned, later. Wonder why he'd do that - put guns back? He was found to be in posession of an AK 47 w/ ammo and claims to have found an Uzzy and a large cash of ammo, hidden behind a false wall in the basement of a cabin that belongs to a BC provincial court judge. Neither the Uzzy or the AK made the prosecutor's very long list that he read into the record."
A story tied into Bre-X , Gold, and child porn.
I am a bit surprised to hear that you are trying to institute/promote change from within 'the system'.
Yeah, me too CD. ... However, my view was that there is really nowhere left "outside of the system." However, not to worry, since, so far, what I have proven over and over again is that the established systems are so totally corrupted that attempting to promote change from within the system is pretty well hopeless, and therefore, I tend to agree more with the practicality of those who do not try.
My tribe and I have revoked our consent and I see others doing the same. It's good thing (eventually)...
One needs only look to Bill and Hillary Clinton for a power mad couple in the business of marriage for mutual gain.
"Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war" was spoken by Marc Antony after Caesar's assasination:
"ANTONY O, pardon me, thou bleeding piece of earth,
That I am meek and gentle with these butchers!
Thou art the ruins of the noblest man
That ever lived in the tide of times.
Woe to the hand that shed this costly blood!
Over thy wounds now do I prophesy,--
Which, like dumb mouths, do ope their ruby lips,
To beg the voice and utterance of my tongue--
A curse shall light upon the limbs of men;
Domestic fury and fierce civil strife
Shall cumber all the parts of Italy;
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial."
"Ate" by Caesar's side coming "hot from hell" is the Greek Goddess of mischief, delusion, ruin, and folly. This soliloquy is given just before Marc Antony's famous "honorable men" speech in which he turns the people against Brutus and the other conspirators who assassinated Caesar.
When Antony says "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war..." he is speaking not of actual dogs but of the spirits of war and chaos - when discourse and politics fail - and the immoral and corrupt of society must be taken to task (killed). We can avoid being captured or herded but at some point must decide to either fight or take the nail gun to the head.
Nicely put, and good to read that extract and actually think about it. Shakespeare was too dependent on Elizabeth's favour to say anything overt, but between the lines he often passes powerful comments that remain true down the centuries and this added to or even made the force and endurance of his work (IMHO, natch).
Bravo!... Well said and well done!...
doesn't seem to me that christianity figured much into shakespeare. there was a time when a US president was expected to go to church, and to mention god in his speeches. we would accuse them of hypocrisy now, just as we accuse the righteous of demagougery (and extol the virtues of the bully pulpit). about the only thing potus can do in public is play golf (wmb7)
obama is self righteous, (he could have brought a lot of people to justice, but he wanted to fight the old civil rights race struggle again.) he meets the general definition of an anti-christ, as someone who uses their power to project their own personal conflicts onto the world. george w bush was one, obama is another, different strokes for different folks. but my thesis would be that our problem is not one of leadership, its that was are not good followers, we follow blindly, and we never ask the tough questions. otherwise what was the point of jesus having twelve disciples? of course the historical jesus is made infallible, but only through the disciples and their work. how many false prophets were there, lots i think, how does any of them become the one true son of god, or even president of the united states? this is why a strict majority of votes isn't sufficent, its the passion and belief of the followers that counts too. that's why i think countries which can hold a vote of confidence and replace their leaders at any time are much stronger. and government with strict checks and balances. gridlock is a good thing, bad laws passed by a simple majority reap havoc.
Hill and Bill, Barak and Michelle come to mind.
I want to comment but I'll leave it by the side of the road today. Thanks for your thoughts and analysis, Cog. You've been moved to the Must Read shelf.
I concur with mccvilb.
High praise indeed. I have many on my 'read later' list, but few on my 'must read'.
Thank you.
Here is an altruism: Insofar as we deceive, we are deceived also. We cannot know truth as long as we live lies, because the act of deceiving distorts reality. Knowing the truth is the prerequisite to correct action. There are no set rules for that because changing situations call for changing actions.
This world is nothing but a war of conflicting dreams and ideas made real. This will not change, but by knowing the truth we can act correctly.

But that is totally fiction. Just like a 777 being spotted flying low south of the Maldives. It couldn't possibly be circling around to land on an NW-SE runway like the one to the south of there at Diego Garcia - about 30-45 minutes flight time.
Toal fiction you say?
Maybe not!
