The EU are installing police operated remote kill switches on all new cars so that pretty much blows your stupid car analogy.
It is ironic that those remote kill switches allow Big Brotha to accomplish the same outcome as GMs faulty ignition switch.
Just imagine what happens when a car doing KM200+ on the Autobahn gets kill switched. Good thing they have guard rails.
Zionhead, get the fuck off William's page. For that matter, get the fuck off of ZeroHedge. I haven't seen your ass post anything worth a shit since you have been here. You consistently make no sense and that appears to be the only thing that you are good at doing. Go back to where you came from and leave us alone. I would issue a junk but you are not even worth the waste of red pixels.
This is fight-club right? Then why must banzai be treated differently?
*
Why does everyone else here publish JPEGS, but Banzai's graphics force you to enable all the google-spyware?
I never get an answer to this question. I sort of know why, its that if everybody disabled the google-spying SW, then there would be no nickels flowing in.
It's all about nickels,...
Lastly if this is fight club, why does everybody have to circle-jerk to the sam tune?
Holy shit, that is the first post you have made that I have seen something that makes some sort sense. Listen to me here, we all need to make money somehow, someway. I have two WB7 prints myself. I have done business with William and he delivers. He is selling you artwork if you want to buy it. If you don't want to buy then don't. Pretty simple.
Do you remember in fight club where they beat the living shit out of each other? They all got up and shook hands. You have gone overboard zionhead. I am not sure how you came up with that avatar and screen name. What do you want from us? You want to point out that I buy things from other ZeroHedger's Yes, I do. Does that affect you at all? If I buy a print from William you are telling me that this affects you? Are you fucking serious? Think about how stupid that is. It's not your fucking business what I want hanging on my wall in my living room.
ZeroHedge doesn't OWE you one thing at all. Why are you so worried about us? Why do you care? What do you think we are going to do that is so damaging to the global power structure as it is now that is going to damage the powers that be? Can you please tell me?
Zionhead, I do not think you will be around for long. If you want to, come back as a human being and leave the religion shit out. Remember that we did not do anything to you.
Google and adsense arrived on this site well before Banzai7 did. And if you think there is such a thing as an internet that is free of spyware, go and do your homework. Your best solution, if you are a hapless dweeb, is to stay off this site or go completely dark.
And for the record, Banzai7 collects z-e-r-o pennies, nickels dimes or quarters from the Googleplex. Something any viewer who is familiar with my M.O. knows very well.
So, if you want to fight club your mouth off, go ahead, but do your fucking homework first, Mr 3 Weeks.
think of the pot growers that buy grow supplies and drive away thinking their products are "dark". sweeps delayed is not sweeps denied.
I think he is that Satoshixxx poster under a new name - content and syntax is very similar.
"The most perfidious way of harming a cause consists of defending it deliberately with faulty arguments."
— Friedrich Nietzsche,
What are you doing on this site. They are watching you you know.
Don't pontificate about social media to me. It is a tool just like a car, which they watch and a gun, which they also watch.
And given what we now know, which some of us knew all along, if you let them fuck you freely up the ass while you are using it it is equally your own fault now as well.
No one forces you to use any of it.
As you say - in my interpretation, its almost a moot point, our digital footprints go way beyond social media. For example our banking activities.
But being aware and cautious is sensible. Living in fear and anger is as useful as living in ignorance. If we view SM as a voluntary Hoover dossier we self-build.... we start to get an idea how to use it properly. But we still are uncertain how it can eventually be used against us individually in the massive changes coming into our world.
The pleasure of forums like this is we get a few extreme and contrarian views to consider helping to start building our discerning capabilities and improving our decision making outside the paradigm of schooling etc.
I like twitter as an info tracker for news, articles etc I can't get by reading the newspaper....can't see the point of gossip-type SM when there are uses for informative SM. Through history sheep are tracked one way or another but we can find some advantages as Brezinski whined previously earlier "we're becoming more informed" and harder to manipulate and Catherine Austin Fitts points to crowd sourcing as an untrapped resource... so perhaps SM is a lead into something more?
Just pondering....luv your work williambanzai7 and I read your comments with interest, something not previously possible for a rural/country located Aussie to access and comment on without the net and some variation of SM being in existence.
Technology is always a paradox. The benefits that the little people enjoy can be harnessed for "good or corrupt power."
However, the advent of P2P technologies and open networks has really thrown a monkey wrench into your average dictators tool kit.
Can someone please tell me what country is shutting down social media because they don't like the idea of using same to spy on their citizens?
menace? no. bullshit? yes.
As far as I am concerned even the mindless bullshit artists and "tittytainers" have a right to free expression, although I suppose we can all turn our devices off forever and each go on our merry way...no?
the protestors have taken casualties and this has not gone unnoticed by President Ra'j Al Gul.

oh, sorry. that's banned too.
Turkey is a real tinderbox.
Internet censorship: book burning for the 21st century.
the problem is who control the internet, if it is controlled by Hitler or NSA or CIA, would you still think is wrong?
the question is "can we control it?"
the folks in charge all knew when they "hit the on switch" to this internet thing they were hitting the on switch to total chaos. unless and until we can see within ourselves to live with one another "despite our differences between us being magnified and broadcast for the world to see" then indeed "we will be controlled"...or ask to be rather than allow the internet to be turned off.

this is not some "science fiction thriller" folks.
probably one of the greatest speeches...and certainly the greatest inaugural...ever in history.
yet no leader has gone through to bring forth the words of Lincoln to get us to learn that we live together...despite our sameness/forget the differences...all because "in the chaos of our society at large we will need them."
oh, there has been much profit by this indeed. but one need only look at Syria to see just what the "internet reality" truly means. America knows this...has spoken of this...and still we say nothing.
This is a very fortunate Nation that at one time something along these lines was in fact said...lest people get the wrong idea...yes, yes?
Nobody really "hit the on switch" for the internet...
It just sorta happened...
And there was a version of the internet before the one we know now called BBS's and they were like electronic newspapers... Gone like the paper version as well too...
Imagine if Al Gore forgot to invent it.
There is a serious movement afoot to reinvent and insulate the internet and social media and to find a way to make use of metadata for the good of humanity. The hope and change we have been looking for is right in front of us in this one simple idea. This isn't about politics. It's called FET. If the white paper explaining FET below is too dry for you, try the five minute video about halfway down:

The predatory element ie NSA et al, soured people's perceptions of social media and data mining, and rightfully so, but the fact remains that because of the nature and complexity of our world today we need to find a way to change our attitudes and create a basis for cultural change before we destroy the world and ourselves along with it. There's so much apathy everywhere it's become acceptable to bury everything that is good under it. The truth is, we need new ideas and innovations, and we need educated people from diverse walks of life with unique and deep perspectives to be able to consult with each other and exchange ideas free of censorship and covert agendas.
Open your mind and engage it in something positive. This isn't a sales pitch. Connections are available through MIT's Innovation and Commercialization program, a free course offered through EDX on-line. People who went through the course successfully are invited to join a cohort at MIT to work on developing any innovation they want to and to form groups of people within that they liked working with before. Now I've only been hanging here since the first of the year but it became apparent some very smart people stop in here at ZH regularly, and it isn't to bitch about what can't be fixed. We are all looking for a glimmer of grand possibilities to suddenly and spontaneously manifest... our own Crimean moment if you will.
control by us or them... its still control by peeps with agendas unless they're immune to base desires which most of us are not......perhaps the key is to keep building the web and its uses so its beyond anyones control and profitable for more than the usual suspects? As some seem to allude to as per previous posts.
most of the works of fiction published in the last 30 years deserve to be burned. "50 Shades of Gray"? Sue Grafton? Patricia Cornwell? Bill O' Fucking Reilly? Not exactly turning out too many Hemingways any more. "Bonfire of the Vanities" was about the last good American novel.
I highly recommend Tree of Smoke. Denis Johnson is a master.
Lot's of great stuff written in the past 30 years. Here is a starting point:
