i've been drinking; and in that spirit(s) i wanted to take a chance and do a little layin it on the line kinda thing.

many of you have suspicions regarding poor ole janus; and, in all fairness, who could blame any for so suspecting. from my very beginnings on the Hedge, i wanted to make it clear, from the get-go, that i would happily disagree (and rather aggressively) with any with so whom i might otherwise on most other occasions enthusiastically agree.

we call this Fight Club; but it is more properly appreciated as an ole fashioned gentleman's club. many believe they can reappropriate this sacred space to the service of some gooey, amoebic vision of a utopiazed nebula cloud spewing the self-congratulatory froth of its expiry; a kingdom i both object to and will devote my very life-force to repel. the end is not yet. but your accepted philosophies, democracies and apathy will certainly yield it. you reap what you sow, dear brethren.

i have attempted to demonstrate that i will use the enemy's weapon of psychological categorization against it. i have only, heretofore, done this in a generalized and aspecific fashion. if i feel i need to focus my attention, i will gladly accommodate those who seem to pleadingly invite such scrutiny. in other words, janus has been bein a good boy. and if any of you paid-opposition mutha-fuckers wanna get nasty...well...i'll be your goddam huckleberry -- all gentleman-like, too.

on to other very relevant matters:

so-the-fuck-what if i object-to/reject certain and sundry clandestine projects and embrace others...i believe i've made myself exceedingly clear with respect to syria, iran and other nations we've over the years slighted because of capricious and ill-conceived oaths made by generations that have forsaken my own (i'm referring to our withering mandarin's fealty to, and our nation's umbilical bond to, the saudi 'royals'). rot in hell, you depraved bastards!

but i cannot at the same time object to whatever 'good' we can, within the context of the current blundering, do in venezuela. sometimes, in the course of human affairs, the most egregious misstep (diplomatically speaking) can be converted into the most splendid of politically spinnable double-fakes. consider janus a monroe-doctrine kinda-guy (hemispherically speaking). please ask me to explain why.

in a plain manner of speaking, i mean to say that we could easily (very easily) contain the mess in venezuela. assure the persian that we do not intend to convert them to pepsi cola, doritos, gay-marriage & pornography, etc., and will likewise shield them from slavic dominance; that we will back and guarantee india's petrol needs (japan, too -- obviously); and that we recognize a reasonable (and to my mind natural) emergence of slavic, sino and nordic "spheres" of autonomy. which is to say, "SOVEREIGNTY"

What is the risk/reward of the American president referring to the Russian president as a "bored little kid?" It is infinite. A whole lot to loose divided by nothing to gain. I have never heard an American president - or any foreign head of state - refer to another head of state in such disparaging terms. Reagan referred to the Soviet leadership as "the evil empire." I thought that rather nasty - but it wasn't personal. And he was calling them out for their policies.
