U.S. CREATED a Terrorist Safe Haven In Libya

George Washington's picture

The U.S. State Department released its 2013 Country Reports on Terrorism on April 30th, stating:

With a weak government possessing very few tools to exert control throughout its territory, Libya has become a terrorist safe haven and its transit routes are used by various terrorist groups, notably in the southwest and northeast.

***

Terrorists continue to utilize ancient trade routes across these borders. All of Libya’s borders are porous and vulnerable to this activity ….

Why has Libya become a safe haven for terrorists?

The State Department’s 2012 Country Reports on Terrorism – the first Country Report to list Libya as a terrorist safe haven – explains:

In 2012, Libyan internal security suffered significant challenges and setbacks as it sought to reassert central authority following the fall of the Qadhafi regime ….

And why did the Qadhafi regime fall?

Oh, yeah … in 2011, the U.S. launched a war in Libya and “regime changed” Qadhafi. As then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said:

We came, we saw, he died.

The Washington Post notes:

Moammar Gaddafi was overthrown in 2011 with the help of U.S. and NATO air forces.

***

The Obama administration and its NATO allies bear responsibility for this mess because, having intervened to help rebels overthrow Gaddafi, they then swiftly exited without making a serious effort to help Libyans establish security and build a new political order.

And see this:

It probably doesn’t help that the U.S. backed Al Qaeda terrorists in Libya so  that they would overthrow Gaddaffi.

Sadly, bad U.S. policy has largely been responsible for creating terrorists and terrorist safe havens for many decades. And see this.

Panetta says that the armed forces that have been located in the United States of America and consist of 60 percent non-US citizens are controlled by the UN/Nato. So you should stop blaming the United States of America. These people, some of which are US citizens, that are committing these crimes are not the US. There are globalist fascists. Get your reporting right. Stop blaming yourself.

After the US failed to control Iraq, wasting money, material, prestige and the US citizens patience, the next plan is chaos ( or planned all along ). I have said it before. It costs less to just start the path to chaos than to try and control. It keeps your interests on hold. While disturbing all those that are in the area or in the economic realm of the chaos. Iraq, Libya, Syria and of course the Ukraine along with others. Initiate chaos to forstall the more expensive aspects of trying to plunder or control. Keeping others from having any control or benefit. The chaos is now coming to it's targets. Not just Russia. But the EU as well. The EU has been unwittingly complicate in bringing the effects of chaos upon themselves. Energy conduits to the EU have been thrown into chaos. The last one being Ukraine. At least two birds with one stone. Besides China, the EU and Russia are the biggest obstacles to US hegemony. Physically, but more importantly, finacially. The trade between Russia and the EU was a large block out of the US dollar control and benefit. If the EU and Russia can be set against each other, the US dollar hangs on a little longer. The dollar is the last gasp of the US. The less it is used by others, the less power the US can project outside it's borders. It is hollowed out almost completely. Surviving only as a standard of trade. But that standard is slipping away. The fewer dollars required as little more than receipts, the less they can buy. Put as many economies, big or small in chaos and the dollar retains a shred of value as a receipt or chit.

Ultimately it is a failed option. Because the US is in chaos. Hard as it trys to hide it from others and itself. It will fail. Others will recover from it's inflicted chaos, together. It will take much longer for it to recover on it's own. Having stabbed all it's friends in the back.

Off topic what does the EPA and the SEC have in common.

http://freebeacon.com/issues/epa-confirms-it-gave-bonus-to-porn-addicted...

The EPA confirmed Wednesday that one of their employees, who was rewarded with “performance awards” watched pornography while on the job, as previously reported by the Washington Free Beacon.

Rep. John Mica (R., Fla) questioned Allan Williams, the deputy assistant inspector general for investigations at the House Oversight Committee over the employees’ “work activities.”

“So this guy is making $120,000, spending two to six hours a day looking at porno. Then this information I have is he received performance awards during the time period?” Mica asked Williams.

Williams responded, “Uh, he possibly did. Yes, sir.”

Mica, frustrated with Williams’ inadequate answer, told him that a gentleman in the back of the room was nodding his head in response to his question, prompting Williams to finally admit “He did receive performance awards.”

“It’s just unbelievable,” Mica lamented.

...

Mica should spend some time investigating the SEC if he thinks that is unbelievable.....

Kenny, I wish I could share your optimism about the "truth will out" The west has the attention span of a gnat, one of the evils of smart phones is that they damage the mind and train it to only thrive in a snippet world. ADD will be at pandemic levels within ten years with people barely able to hold a train of thought for seconds before being distracted by some other sensory stimulus. Political commercials will be ten second sound bites like. "Harry Stumpwumple sucks and hates blacks" and "Bob Bodaddyo hates women and little puppies"

Your article and the implication that America is having a destabilizing effect on Ukraine has merit. The idea of America getting involved or jumping into a war in Ukraine would have been hard to imagine a  few years ago. As I write this we are engaged in a war of words but the potential for this to escalate into a shooting war is real.

Allowing events to deteriorate into a major war or possibly into what some see as World War III is becoming a reality. As insane as it appears this could become the final outcome. The location of this as a military confrontation is right in Putin's backyard and this is a strong advantage for Russia. It is silly to think Putin and Russia will back down. This means poking the bear is not a smart move. It should be noted the military of Ukraine is divided and extremely weak. More about this subject in the article below.

No, I don't think that the idea of the US getting involved in a war in the Ukraine would have been that hard to imagine, particularly after the CIA's invovlement with the so called Orange Revolution. For fuck's sake, even the Guardian wrote about it:

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2004/nov/26/ukraine.usa

I think war in the Ukraine is the whole point from the US/NATO perspective. The US invovlement in the Ukraine has been quite similar to the CIA invovlement with the Contras in Nicaragua and is just another, though more overt, proxy war between the US and Russia. Maybe it ends up being real hot. Maybe it continues with pot shots, shows of force, and molatov throwing. Who fucking knows anymore, trying to predict that is pointless. We can say its a bad idea till we are blue in the face, but the fact is that for the average Ukrainian, it already is a fucking war. What I do think though, is that the US and EU have been seriously paranoid about Russia's turnaround from failed state to being a world power contender in the last 25 years. That frankly isn't a long time, and I think it scares the shit out of the western governments which would like to continue to bully around resource holders with gun barrels. Having another global military force in the mix with resources and bodies to spare is a serious threat to western hegemony.

And go pimp your blog somewhere else.

VERY underreported reality-based story. WE DID IT. The only remaining question is WHY? A few simple reasons: 1. there was money to be made bombing the shit out of Libya, missile inventories etc; 2. it let us continue the narrative of fear/large military budgets; 3. Gaddafi was pushing a gold-backed pan-African dinar; and the immediate catalyst and overall winner, 4. Gaddafi loaned many billions to UniCredito Bank after 2008 and they did not feel like paying it back. Oh and I'd add 5. Susan Rice and Obomba utter and complete stupidity and naivete about the real world.

"Sadly, bad U.S. policy has largely been responsible for creating terrorists..."

It may be bad policy, but the neocons feel it is essential insofar as they believe it maintains the status quo.

Every fading empire needs a foe, a boogeyman, to misdirect attention from its own failing policies and to stir the false patriotic ferver of its populace. It also allows the empire to increase its stranglehold on the people through unconstitutional legislation that is enacted for "security".

I absolutely agree. But allow me to suppose a hypothetical situation.

Imagine when you were 9 years old. You have your whole life ahead of you and the only thing you are thinking about is what time school lets out so you can get home to play with your friends.

Finally the bell rings and you race off to enjoy a game of soccer with your pals. In a small field not far from your home, you are running down a missed shot on goal, when suddenly you hear the dreadful whine of an air raid siren. As you look up you see a shining blur in the sky, and seconds later an entire row of houses on your block is obliterated in a flash of light and heat.

An expanding wall of pressure knocks you down, and as you get back up you see your childhood home is engulfed in flames and dust. While trying to make your way towards the house, you remember your mom was preparing dinner in the kitchen as your baby sister was sleeping in the family room.

Sorrow and anger fills your young heart as tears roll down your face and your body trembles uncontrollably. At that tragic moment in your young life you swear vengeance on those responsible.

So in response to your comment, some insane monsters are born, yet other monsters are manufactured.
