Robert Benchley's Market Wrap: Some Things Never Change

CrownThomas's picture

Actor Robert Benchley gives a spoof on the economists and pundits who tried to explain the depression during his time.

Obviously, you'll note that everything he says still applies today with the nonsense everyone spews.

Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

Kipling's "The Gods of the Copybook Headings" is true

As a mainframe COBOL programmer, I can dig it.

It isn't people or the economy, it is the speculators run amok, using other people's money to gamble in deriviatives and securities leveraged 60 to 1.

Economic alchemists invent terminology, theorems, and formulae to explain why the lead isn't turning into Gold just yet; it will work next time, they just need more some more R&D money.

Dude, its levreage pure and simple. Unleveraged banks, unleveraged citizens, etc and deflation is a good thing. High leverage and deflation is a killer.... Widespread leverage and you risk a self-reinforcing spiral of misery.

No need for any BS - its leverage.

If you're Wall Street.

"Don't bother if it can't be levered 100 to one."

Only thing better is to have he taxpayer as your balance sheet.

Bwhahahahahaha. "Just ignore the whole war thingy. Now watch our bought and paid fors blame the Generals."

The "art of surviving a depression" as a central banker consists of trying to spin enough BS for long enough publically to keep your head attached to your shoulders, while praying desperately behind closed doors for lifesaving recovery.

The definitive mark of a raging case of mental illness is a world-view where there's a Jew behind every work of evil.

The quick rubric on whether someone is aligned with evil in their soul or light is where they stand on Jews - the source of all salvation for humanity.

Satan hates the Jews for being first and for bringing forth Jesus.  If you hate Jews (because they are Jews) you are aligned with evil.

So. Evil. Insane. Or both. But no goodness or light.

QED.

Now go wash the foam off your mouth.

Winstone Churchill astutely observed many years ago that

......."It is ironic that the destroyer of mankind in the end times and the Savior of mankind for all eternity will be brought forth from the same ethnic group."

The definitive mark of a country that can see no change in the narrative over 80 years is this:  It is TBTE.  Too big to exist.

As long as this conglomeration of a country remains under the tyranny of those smegmatic, sonsabitchin, motherfuckers in the Swamp on the Potomac, we have no chance of changing things for the better.

And now that Financial Industry is in control of the Government, and the Jews control all the strategic nexuses in the world. (Gensler at the CFTC, Fink at Blackrock (12 Trillion), J Yell at the FED, Lew at Treasury and a dozen other Jewish Potentates at all the others like  DSK and LA Garde, there is no hope that will survive the despair.

Once again, George Carlin is right.  They have us by the balls. And they don't care about you.

There are times when Hitler begins to make more sense.

No no. TBTE doesn't mean anything at all. You can be huge and exist quite well - you just can't see your dick or cunt or toes anymore...

Adolf Hitler and 'sense' in the same sentence? Really?

Just as much sense as having jews in control of all the money, Especially in the last 20 yrs derivatives debacle, and the Mortgage fraud, and quadrillions they have given themselves setiing everyone but themselves up for an implosion of galactic proportions.

Elliot Ness did something about the Mafia, and so have a few others, but no one will touch the Jewish mafia. They send them quadrillions instead. For abysmal failure.

I could see executions of several of them, easily.

Robert Benchley was primarily a writer not an actor, a founding member of the brilliant "Algonquin Round Table" in NYC (possibly a swipe at the "Algonquin Club" of Boston). Brilliant wits all, look them up and read them sometime and remember:

"Plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose"
