At the height of the worst recession in 80 years, using cuts to entitlements, austerity, or tax breaks for the wealthy, wasn't the smartest campaign platform.
It doesn't matter what party you're in, if you're an iron worker that votes across lines who's job was displaced by China and there are 3 applicants for every job you apply for... You're likely to vote for the party that campaigns on fighting to keep your U/E bennies coming.

There are now, and will continue to be, problems with Obamacare. The whole concept may be distasteful to you, and maybe even to him, but that has nothing to do with how valuable the issue is to a political candidate in any given race. The point is that Obamacare as an issue to bludgeon Dems with has declined in value, and Reps are shooting themselves in the foot by constantly harping on it. They are looking especially foolish in the House as they try over and over to repeal it. Perhaps someone should explain the definition of schizophrenia to them.
Rep political operatives very well realize that Obamacare will not be the wedge issue they had thought it would be a year ago. Now, it's Bengoozi time!
That asswipe Issa has had all the opportunity he needed to talk about the real issues of Benghazi, but they never breach the subject of WHY there was is a CIA outpost there in the first place, and what they were doing. So, the clown show continues, with neither the Dems not the Reps touching the underlying, classified portions, which are the only things of genuine importance. Both sides are using this as red meat for their base to drum up campaign contributions. Both sides will line up and clamour for the chance to prostitute themselves in front of the cameras.

And like all others, I'm waiting with bated breath for him to name the six investigations (his inference again) cited and what those findings were.
Because we still don't know why Stevens was meeting the Turkish General Counsel in Benghazi instead of Tripoli, why Stevens requests for additional security went unanswered by his "good friend" Hitlary and most importantly, where was King O'Barry that night and why air power was NOT scrambled from Sigonella or Aviano when the consulate came under attack, yet they made damned sure to have a drone circling overhead to watch everything that happened below and beam it back to DC.
Frankly nmewn the whole affair is highly disgusting to me. The facts in this case are plain and it's farcical there have been so many investigations. This proves to me this event is simply not being taken seriously and seeing the reactions of the public, they are confident it is inconsequential.
I have my own ideas on how it should be handled including individuals dragged into court shackled lying face down on the floor. However this action must remain as one of my dictator fantasies that the offending parties know have little chance of fruition. Lucky them.
