“Pervasive, Pre-Criminal Surveillance Where the Government Wants To Watch What You’re Doing Just to See What You’re Up To ..."
When NBC’s Brian Williams interviewed Ed Snowden in Moscow last week, one of Snowden’s most interesting statements was left on the cutting room floor.
Specifically, the following statement was cut from NBC’s broadcast Wednesday night:
Now, we have a system of pervasive, pre-criminal surveillance where the government wants to watch what you’re doing just to see what you’re up to, to see what you’re thinking, even behind closed doors.
Indeed, a government expert told the Washington Post that the government “quite literally can watch your ideas form as you type.” (And see this.) And British and U.S. intelligence agencies have been recording millions of webcam videos … many of them nude videos from inside people’s homes. Indeed, the government is spying on virtually everything we do.
Moreover, the NSA is working on building a “pre-crime” computer system that uses artificial intelligence and massive amounts of data to try to predict how every thinks and what everyone is likely to do.
As we reported last year:
The government is currently testing systems for use in public spaces which can screen for “pre-crime”. As Nature reports:
Like a lie detector, FAST measures a variety of physiological indicators, ranging from heart rate to the steadiness of a person’s gaze, to judge a subject’s state of mind. But there are major differences from the polygraph. FAST relies on non-contact sensors, so it can measure indicators as someone walks through a corridor at an airport, and it does not depend on active questioning of the subject.
CBS News points out:
FAST is designed to track and monitor, among other inputs, body movements, voice pitch changes, prosody changes (alterations in the rhythm and intonation of speech), eye movements, body heat changes, and breathing patterns. Occupation and age are also considered. A government source told CNET that blink rate and pupil variation are measured too.
A field test of FAST has been conducted in at least one undisclosed location in the northeast. “It is not an airport, but it is a large venue that is a suitable substitute for an operational setting,” DHS spokesman John Verrico told Nature.com in May.
Although DHS has publicly suggested that FAST could be used at airport checkpoints–the Transportation Security Administration is part of the department, after all–the government appears to have grander ambitions. One internal DHS document (PDF) also obtained by EPIC through the Freedom of Information Act says a mobile version of FAST “could be used at security checkpoints such as border crossings or at large public events such as sporting events or conventions.”
The risk of false positives is very real. As Computer World notes:
Tom Ormerod, a psychologist in the Investigative Expertise Unit at Lancaster University, UK, told Nature, “Even having an iris scan or fingerprint read at immigration is enough to raise the heart rate of most legitimate travelers.” Other critics have been concerned about “false positives.” For example, some travelers might have some of the physical responses that are supposedly signs of mal-intent if they were about to be groped by TSA agents in airport security.
Various “pre-crime” sensing devices have already been deployed in public spaces in the U.S.
The government has also worked on artificial intelligence for “pre-crime” detection on the Web. And given that programs which can figure out your emotions are being developed using your webcam, every change in facial expression could be tracked.
While the government pretends that such pre-crime monitoring is meant to prevent terrorism, the fact is that it is instead being used to crush dissent.

You need to use this internet thing to start looking up the definitions of the words you are using. Civilized means to behave in a civil or respectful manner. That is only possible in a private society. When you remove privacy people start behaving like animals. See prison, college dorms, and soldiers for reference.
quit reading the screen (which as i noted earlier is a method of hypnosis) the notion of privacy was created by the printing press. privacy implies a person isolated (or fragmented) from their social group, civilized implies internalized violence, because anyone in a civlized society is forced to repress a good deal of their own nature as a sacrifice to this idea. the civil man cannot say the president is a liar on television
this is the connundrum, we throw out a bush to elect an obama and end up with the same thing. the term private society is like jumbo shrimp. if you want to achieve personal understanding you need to strip away the hypnotic effect of the medium. the idea of privacy should be replaced with autonomy. individuals create their own space, and manage their outcome within their own sphere of interest and abilities. autonomy is active, privacy is passive. passive consumer politics is obsolete much like the definitions you mention.

the bush obama carousel is ready for new turn, and i see a lot of people standing in line to take that ride
One of the Agenda items at the Criminal Bilderburg Conference was a gem named "Does Privacy Even Exist" or something to that effect.
Here are the actual two Agenda topics:
4) The European Union’s Internet privacy regulations – what they mean for the United States.
5) The rise of cyber warfare – the government could deceptively use the threat of cyber attacks to strengthen censorship and other Internet regulations.
These Meglamanics / Psycopaths / Sociopaths will stop at nothing for Total Complete Full Spectrum World Domination over mankind.
Bilderburg Conference was a gem named "Does Privacy Even Exist"...
Now that is ripe. Of course privacy exists; you just have to attend Bilderburg to experience it.
The solution to this nonsense is to apply these new technologies to our (s)elected officials only. Our process of candidate vetting is / was supposed to achieve this, cull out the weak and non-qualified and expose them for all to see. If they have any reservations about it, tough luck, GO HOME! You / they voluntarily accepted the desired position of authority, (the conferred upon right to exercise force), and MUST be held to a higher degree of scrutiny than those of us in the private sector.
In addition, it must be pointed out, any use of this information to "blackmail" another, of necessity makes said blackmailer a greater and thus far more culpable transgressor than the subject. Punishing the abuse of this conferred upon ability for "private" gain must be swift, sure and severe.
We must restore sensibility and trust to the judiciary, there's no other way to reign in these clowns.
Jmo.
"Now, we have a system of pervasive, pre-criminal surveillance where the government wants to watch what you’re doing just to see what you’re up to, to see what you’re thinking, even behind closed doors."
cool. 'seeing' thinking.

in a world with too many people and too few resources government naturally will take over responsibilty for allocating those resources (according to ones needs and abilities - to paraphase marx)
Too many people and too few resources is a myth.
Trade policies of the Western world and exploitation by the West has perfected a system of scarcity.
Also, those who implemented these systems now want to annihilate 80% of the world's population.
For example, Haiti over 50 years ago quite adequately fed its population.
IMF loans and conditionalities and asociated trade policies broke the back of multi-cultural farming. Farm subsidies in the US made it possible for Agri-business to undercut prices of the multi-cultural farming society. And thus, corporations began single product farms where the family farms, having lost their farms went to work for the corporations and when the mono culture farm failed, Haitians were eating mud cakes in 2008 as food to survive the drought.
yoiu confirm what i am saying, government took over the allocation of haitis resources, (much like ireland in the time of swift?)
Who is that government? In 'american' societies, the government derives its power from the consent of the governed.
It is useless to make the government appears separated from the rest.
In Haiti case, it is even more blatant as private interests were fully in. Actually, as very often in 'american' societies, the public sector/government only stepped in when the private sector messed up enough to call for reinforcements. Usually the way it works in 'american' societies.
When they invaded, and what was not mentioned, 'americans' established forced labour on various accounts, fantasical accounts like negroes were lazy and should be made to work.
The resulting increase of activity was not sustainable by the environment and this drained the resources. This is when it started.
The question is: can 'americans' restore the haitian environment to the point prior their devastating policies? The answer is no as it would require from 'americans' to terminate themselves. Which is not going to happen.
Making the upcoming very predictable.
Americans are yet another oppressed people. Some still believe in Santa Clause. Some still believe that the government represents and protects them. More and more at least have the gut feeling that something isn't right, and the common wisdom both on the "left" and "right" seems to be that government no longer represents the people, if it ever did. Americans point to corporations as having the real power over the politicians, and some call that Fascism. Government is a group of people claiming the exclusive right to use violence and the threat of violence to enforce its policies over a geographic area. The common justification for this used to be "the divine right of kings". Now state apologists talk about an almost equally mystical "social contract", and "the consent of the governed". But what happens when someone does not consent?
'Americans' are oppressed people?
Fantasy is deep in 'american' people.
The government is a group of people who claim the exclusive right to use violence?
No kidding, with the stuff like standing your ground which nothing less than a license to kill which requires only one justification: feeling threatened.
With the multiplication of private armies because the government offer is no longer enough to satisfy the 'american' middle class need for wars.
Fantasy is deep in 'americans'.
Do you understand the difference between aggression and defense? The right to forcefully defend oneself or others is a universal, inalienable right. On the other hand, nobody has a right to use violence offensively to impose their will on others. Most people intuitively understand this - it's kindergarten ethics.
Yes, slavery in Haiti, brought there by those well known "Americans" like Christopher Columbus (Spain) or was it the French after them or was it other islanders even before both of them? And just what is a restavec, today?
Are these chinese shitizen non-mattering things for your eternally Ameriphobic mind to reflect on or you just gonna concentrate on wiping out Vietnamese fishermen for now?
Side tracking, so common for 'americans'.
Does the previous comment read slavery? Not it does not.
It reads forced labour. Forced labour as it was imposed by US Americans when they invaded the island to further their economical and political interests. This happened after Haitians made their revolution to abolish slavery.
That is when the exhaustion of the island happened.
'Americans' unable to face reality as it is. As 'americans' love to depict themselves as tough people who can take, that trouble is self perceived is huge consumption as they need so much fictional works to re inforce them in their fantasy they can take it.
And as usual, 'americans' enjoy pointing at small achievements. Why about empowering nazis in Ukraine to overthrow a legitimately elected government? Oh, yes, it is already over. 'Americans' are so efficient when it comes to certain things. Other people are lagging behind. Way behind.
Wup, missed this chineazy bleatism:
"Does the previous comment read slavery? Not it does not."
Not, actually it not does...lol.
"When they invaded, and what was not mentioned, 'americans' established forced labour on various accounts, fantasical accounts like negroes were lazy and should be made to work."
Negroes came to Haiti from Africa and were slaves just as the indian inhabitants before them, made slaves by OTHER indians from different islands. That was slightly before America's time spud.
But of course the oriental never had slaves or used "forced labor" before americans "invented it"...right? ;-)
And?
There was slavery in Haiti. A slave rebellion turned into a revolution abolished slavery.
Then 'americans' invaded and imposed forced labour. This is during that period (at start of the 20th century) that the depletion of resources hinted in the previous post happened, directly as a consequence of the imposition of forced labour that induced a level of activity the area could not sustain.
Sidetracking is deep.
But, hey, 'americans' would not be 'american' if they could face reality.
What "depletion of resources" are you talking about, exactly?
In the early part of that century Haitian Germans controlled 80% of the islands international trade in competition with the French. That would be BEFORE the US invasion.
What exactly are you talking about, in plain Engrish please...
More sidetracking. 'Americans' usually slip in everything to avoid facing reality.
What depletion of resources? You 'american',the one that was hinted in the comment above, the one that called for the correction.
In the post 4811035.
Djeee, 'americans' envision themselves as equal but the dire reality is that some 'americans' are more 'american' than others.
Have you noticed the changes in AnAnonymous' writing style? Much more polished and "Westernized". I guess they put the old AnAnonymous out to pasture.
Yes, its much better...lol.
Westernized as in when 'americans' used it to mean 'americanized'?
Where is the rope I can hang myself? Turning in an 'american'... What a creepy, disguting thought.
The false positive thing is alarming. If the test is 99% accurate, yet at any given time, 1 in 1000 people who are under observation are about to do something "bad," you would expect roughly 10 innocent people to get flagged out of every 1000 people and one "bad" person to get flagged. In other words, you'll flag 10x as many innocent people as you will people who are about to do something bad.
And totally miss the kid posting videos saying he's going to fuck up some bitches. Yeah they really got their shit together.
Actually, the body count was four men and two women. And three with a blade and three with a gun, if you're trying to go there. Further examination finds three were oriental males (his roomates), so maybe he hated them much more than he let on.
We're talking about someone "under doctors care" afterall.
Damned shame his family didn't warn anyone that he was a fucking nutcase a lot earlier, wouldn't you say? ;-)
Wanna bet Elliot was on the same prescription drug that James Holmes (Aka the Joker from Colorado shooting)?
And of course there are the Tsarnaev brothers which were on the CIA payroll and Russia had informed the US State depart that they were planning an attack in the USA.
The Domestic spying is all about political power to get dirt on political enemies so they can be imprisioned or at least discredited, as well as insider trading and corporate espionage.
I believe he was prescribed medication but refused to take it, at least thats what I thought he said in his "manifesto"...if anyone can stand to wade through the ramblings of a lunatic and come out the other side still sane, its in the link.
"The Domestic spying is all about political power to get dirt on political enemies so they can be imprisioned or at least discredited, as well as insider trading and corporate espionage."
Absolutely agree...and they're extremely paranoid...possibly even more insane for trying to rationalize their insane behavior to themselves as this little punk out in California.
Its just a simple fact.
There are crazy people, and there is bad medication. I'm not sure I'm up to the task of separating what drives whom in fucked shit like what just happened in CA.
Oh no, someone has cut through and has focused on the facts not the presentation. This is a problem. How can you have missed the strobing neon sign Misogyny and the evils of White Males and Guns as the crux of the issue? And on a thread clearly scope locked by the NSA. My my, very balzy.
It is clear the role of "Soma" in this case will never be explored. The rantings of a crazed individual are just fodder for the gawking mindless public. What he did was terrible and I do feel awful for all involved but the issue is much deeper and it seems our society is unwilling to face this. The Great Oz has won.
That this occurred in Cali seems quite fitting. *sigh*
Miffed;-)
They dutifully locked right onto the misogyny of the little prick and "gun control" while promptly overlooking everything else, didn't they? ;-)
I flew into an absolute rage on Banzai's thread a few days back about this bastard...here, somewhat edited for brevity:
This first part is for the socialy "elite", leftwing rabble rousers in general: Much to the chagrin of anti-gunners and the authoritarian left, he is the spawn of you. A spoiled little rich brat associated with Hollywood (that would be you). With an over inflated ego of himself & his worth, to go along with his sense of elitist self-entitlement to what is not his or could ever be his...namely, any common mans respect (alpha-male or otherwise) and chicks fawning over him.
This second part is for the body count ghouls who profess to understand humanity intricately yet cordon themselves off from it by gender or the God given rights of all humanity: He killed half his victims with a blade (all three of his roomates were male, George Chen, 19, Cheng Yuan Hong, 20, and Weihan Wang, 20) not a gun. Then he killed two ladies with a gun (Katherine Cooper, 22, and Veronika Weiss, 19). The he shot Christopher Martinez, 20 inside a deli. For the anti-gun ghouls thats 3 bladed weapons and 3 with a gun. Are knives next? For the hysterical feminist ghouls, thats 4 males & 2 females on that body count. Get the fuck over yourselves.
He was a punk raised by idiots into the adult he became and if there would have been an alpha-male anywhere in his life he would have had his fucking ass kicked until he thought that his own death was his only escape from the physical pain he was enduring, not anyone elses death. Thats just how it works, an alpha knows both restraint/compassion & violence/conquest in his actions.
Now.
This third part is for all you shrinks, do-gooders, authoritarian navel gazing-beard scratchers and academics of all genders & stripes: In his "manifesto" he speaks of multiple counselors, psychologists, therapy sessions and being prescribed Risperidal (antipsychotic medication). You were there you fucking douchebags, what happened? Look in the mirror and diagnose yourself, instead of everyone else. Or are you afraid to say what you know is in your heart, the session was over, I had a tee time or dinner engagement?
This fourth part is for "the law", the protectors of "society": When his dysfunctional family finally became alarmed enough to call you about the things he said & wrote, "you authorities" did nothing, even knowing he possessed guns and knives, even knowing his past (I'm sure his family told you of his "treatments", see part three) even though he bought everything legally, so everything is recorded under his own name. He was "polite & courteous" to you wasn't he? Good enough, donuts all around.

The problem with the young man is everyone he ever came in contact with, besides an alpha-male, who would have straightened his ass out, one way or the other was as self centered as he was...and deep down he knew it.
Nmewn,
This may be arrogance on my part but there is no way a child like that would have turned out as he did being raised under my roof. My husband and I are very comfortable in our male and female roles and worked well together to parent our children. Our approaches were different but complementary. Classic Alpha male and female. Sure, that can produce tension when children want to push rules but unlike many, we did not fear this or try to medicate problems away. That little prick would have had a few enlightening trips to our barn. We had a clear definition of rules and expectations. Violations had consequences but we always listened to petitions and arguments. However, our word was final.
The irony here is the revulsion for females when the therapy to help him is brimming in feminine ideals. Shouldnt he be exalting his benefactors and caretakers? No, even in his sickness he recognizes them as the scam they truly are. His manifesto is revealing to me. I don't think many can see beyond the words.
I don't see his problem as very complex but the response created a monster out of a impotent frightened little boy. I am so angered and frustrated that it appears so few understand this. The absolute feminization of our society is directly responsible. Gun control, the dispensing of pharmacuticals and looking to government as the solution is overwhelmingly accepted by women.Sometimes I believe I am the only female that gets the problem with this. These scenarios WILL continue I have no doubt. My only hope is I will be prepared if personally confronted. Having had a recent minor physical scuffle with someone I had an argument at a coffee shop reminded me I need to be more vigilant myself.
I had an interesting argument with a work associate once. I had said if I had caught anyone hurting my child I would unload my gun into his head and then go get another magazine and repeat the process for good measure. Lizzy Liberal took great offense at this and stated this showed a deep sickness of mind and for that alone was grounds for gun control. I was at the time opening boxes of micro media plates with a box cutter and I brandished it to her and said I would use this instead because the deed would be done. She laughed at me "You against the world with a box cutter. That is certainly awe inspiring!" I stated there is a lot can be done with knife but she wasn't too impressed. Yes, a few months later 9/11 occured but even that didn't faze her. There is no reasoning for many on this issue. Gun control is the only answer and anything contrary is dismissed.
But she did beat me on one account. I was written up for not being polite and courteous to a work professional. Obviously that indicates a malcontent.
Miffed;-)
lol...Progressive Polly turned you in to "authorities" for telling the truth? An Egyptian can sink a battleship with a screwdriver without even trying...lol...but I digress ;-)
It is interesting how many want to make this (and many things) more complicated than it is. Rodgers own aunt said he was a troubled child since around eight. Not to throw to many cliches' around but money can't buy happiness or love and sparing the rod will spoil the child. Its not an endorsement to beat children for eating a cookie and ruining their supper but major problems with behavior (like torturing animals, theft, lying etc.) should and are corrected around here...actually, it was only lying here...and it never happened again.
In fact, squire found out why only a few years later why telling the truth was so important.
It so happened that a kid got into it with a coach at school. The cops were called, lawsuits were threatened by the parents, the coach's job was in jeopardy. The kids who saw it (the only witnesses) told conflicting stories, most protecting the kids version, his friends. Squire sat silent until they noticed him. They asked him, knowing he does not lie. He told them what actually happened, the kid shoved the coach, the coach jacked the kid up against the fence. He told (the coach) us later that if ____ hadn't seen it and told the truth it was over for him just because all the other kids were protecting their friend and he was grateful. I asked squire if he was afraid of retribution from the kid (a weird little brat anyways) or his friends. He just laughed and said no, he can defend himself and I know he can.
Then came the hard part for us both a year or two later.
I sat him down and told him there will be times in his life when he can't tell the truth (or at least everything he knows about the truth) because of the interests of those asking the questions. He was of course puzzled by this and asked for examples. I just said you will know when the time comes.
Well it did.
Seems some kids thought it would be "fun" to make some pot brownies in cooking class. The teachers didn't know where the reefer came from but they knew of _____ character of not lying. "The time had come." They asked him. He told them it was not his job to be chief investigator. Then (him having long hair) they accused him of involvement in it (as a way to force/compel him to say who it was). He told them to take a flying leap, if they want to test him for drugs to go right ahead, they backed down from accusing him.
So he's telling Mrs.N and I all this and after we (Mrs.N & I) get over being pissed at their slander on him they were using to compel something from him, I looked at him and said, remember that conversation we had about "the time would come" when you would have to choose?
He smiled that weird little grin of his and said yeah.
I said you recognized they "the authorities" were perfectly willing to falsely accuse you of something without any proof whatsoever based on your appearance alone because they wanted something from you they prize as much as you do. No matter what the ramifications were for you or us as a family, right?
He said, yeah. I said you just passed one of the most important tests in life my man.
And yes, he knew the ones who did it ;-)
Yes, I am sad to say my personality does inspire the inner nark in Progressives. The Authorities must be told when malcontents spout subversive ideas. Funny, I would have never done so if the roles were reversed because I innately feel all should defend their own views and verbal tussles are to be encouraged. Obviously this is not accepted by most today. Hence my joining this site.
I think you should be immensely proud of your son. My girls have faced some similar scenarios, though not as potentially devastating as your sons coach, and I am proud as well they remained true to our teachings to the importance of Truth and Courage. My personal challenge was with my eldest who was extremely strong willed since an embryo ( yes, I had an inkling to what I was in for at that point). Since I am obstreperous, fiery and strong willed myself I knew conflict was inevitable.
At 14 she was working on a school project and insisted I drive her to San Diego ( 45 miles away) on my day off to purchase an item. I informed her I was not going to do any such thing and would do so next week after work. She insisted I help and I exclaimed it simply wasnt going to happen. Well she shouted " If I can find my way to San Diego myself can I go?" " Fine by me" I snapped back and she flounced out the front door slamming it. I assumed she was going to walk over to her friends house a few miles away to bitch about her unsupportive bitchy mom.
Well 2 hours later at the grocery store I got a call from my neighbor. She had just picked up Eldest at a freeway on ramp to San Diego hitch hiking. She told me Eldest had told her I said it was okay for her to do so. I told her to please bring her home NOW. Well nmewn I can tell you how angry I was at this but when I finally cooled off I decided not to punish her. I realized my role in this but I did confront her subverting my authority as well as violating what she knew was not my intention. This was a lie but a subtle one. She had used up her one save and I would never accept another action along this line. See looked me dead in my eyes and agreed to the terms.
We had quite a volatile relationship afterward but she never lied again. She had me in the principals office quite a few times over a few arguments with various teachers. Her dissensions were respectful as I required and I always defended her position much to the chagrin of the authorities. Her biggest challenge was she refused to learn from any teacher whom she could not respect. I sympathized with her plight, but knowing she would face an endless stream of idiot assholes in life, I insisted she must conquer this. I taught skepticism of authority but wanted her to learn how to function in this world.
At 24 she has really come into her own and I am happy to say she has told me how much she respected the way I parented her and it had made her what she is. She had realized and told me what I had done was truly a gift of Love which she now could fully appreciate. That was the greatest gift I had ever received in my life.
I think you will experience this too when your time comes. It truly put all in perspective and grounds me to what really matters in my life while living in a world that has no appreciation for what I value or have accomplished.
Miffed;-)
Excellent. I learned a little bit of that on my own at what was about his age. I had pissed a cheerleader off because she didn't get my sense of humor and wanted to be a drama queen, and she had told the whole football team about some shit that never happened (i.e. I and another had pulled a knife on her.) I let it slip that the football team was after me, got called into the public school cop's office while she told one of her various stories, got read the riot act, and kept my mouth shut. Then I sat back and watched her world implode. It ended when another girl, who knew what was going on, was called into the cop's office because the fibber's car had been keyed. She told me the story with great glee.
"Did you key ***'s car?"
"No."
"Do you know who did?"
"Yes"
"Who?"
"I'm not telling you."
"Why not?"
"Because *** is a bitch."
Then she proceeded to tell the whole story about what *** had done. Turns out that *** had told multiple different versions of the story to different people, and not just little differences like you would expect, but huge differences. Like completely different stories. Never had a problem after that.
And no, don't call the cops to solve yor problems (this was 20 years ago, calling them back then was a safer proposition,) but sometimes letting something slip at the right time can be helpful. So can keeping your mouth shut.
And you know what? That kind of teenage drama is what is running Washington DC right now. Pretty fucking sad if you ask me.
That is why I think this whole Snowden into this BS is to keep the plebes convinced they are omniscient.
10 innocent people to get flogged -- there, corrected it for you.
10 innocent people to get Executed --
there, corrected it for you.
10 people to work in indentured "prison," just like all the rest. The only dispute is the bars.
reality: 10 innocent people become terrorists. self fulfilling police state prophecy.
No problem – as long as it doesn't lead to me being forced to have my eyes replaced by an unclean doctor of questionable skill.
snot-dripping, non-ACA-credentialed ex-con doctors.....and a nurse that "only has eyes for you"
a male nurse at that...
They can look all they want, I agree with everything the do, and plan on doing. I'm on their side. I'm also in my 70's and way toooo old for Camp.
The deterrent effect of the death penalty is inverse to your age.
You can't fool the NSA, they see through your act and are saving you a spot......
I'm about 10 years behind you, but more and more I think the older I get the less I've got to lose.
Fuck 'em, I hate everything they do.
but camp is not too old for you
The story of Solzhenitsyn's novel In the First Circle was about a research lab of Zeks working on voice recognition technology for the KGB. Trying to identify the speaker in a wiretap who was guilty of thoughtcrime. In the end, the KGB just blew off the technology and arrested everyone on the trunk line.
Technology generally promises more than it delivers. Like drug sniffing dogs, polygraphs, and trace DNA, the cops are more likely to use it less for investigation and more for window dressing. Fall back on Standard Cop Lies at the arraignment.
One more avenue to plant evidence.
