WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

.
TIME COVER

A short word on the occasion of the Grammy's...

HIS MASTER'S NOISE
.

Money won't change you...but time will take you on--James Brown

A day to ponder how an industry can drive so many of it's brightest lights to personal self destruction. An industry struggling with an obsolete business model that extracts obscene sums from the masses, creates obscene personal wealth and inflicts obscene personal suffering on a few chosen idols.

How many music industry executives and shareholders have suffered a fate similar to the honor roll of artists who have struggled and then paid the ultimate price of premature death?

That is the question that should be asked on a sad occasion such as today.

RIP Whitney Houston...

Here's to those who have survived it or managed to find another way.

Happy Grammy Day Hollywood

This gratuatiously violent, so called entertainment, is nothing more than a mirror held up to the present day American society. You toucha my stuff? Ikeel you!

I disagree with you but not in an ugly way.   I just think this is a prod to 'normal' americans, to start the infighting.   To set the streets on fire.   They're trying to push the 'civil war' right here so we hit the streets and try to 'take back' the country.   In the end it will give them a reason to unleash the storm troopers that have been training on our shores, in our cities, the camps.   It's absurd, right?   Believe it, they're pushing us all to fight with each other.   Hate the rich, hate the poor, hate catholics, hate those that have, hate those that don't, hate Ron Paul and his idiot moron supporters (their words, not mine)...wake up all of you.  This is going to get ugly.   Greece IS on fire.   It's coming soon to Main Street.    Be prepared, get out of the cities if you can.

Yes, the crazy UK Brit government that confiscated all privately owned handguns in the 1990s - But the Brit regime has crazy moments indeed.

It wasn't quite like that.  The UK public got pissed off about repeated killing sprees.  The UK firearms ban had majority public support.

I'm no fan of the UK police state, but the gun laws were tightened because of public outrage.  It probably serves the interests of TPTB, but it was brought about because of people going berserk with guns.

And just who exactly fueled and fanned the flames of that supposed public outrage over a handful of isolated incidents?

The UK public got pissed off about repeated killing sprees.

Or was the UK sheeple public LED and MANIPULATED into being "pissed off" by a handful of gun-related killings?

Check your premises.

Nah, hang on.  Are you from the UK?

A guy shot up a primary school and killed a bunch of four year olds.  No-one needed to MANIPULATE the outrage.  A guy shot up a town in Yorkshire (Hungerford).  No-one needed to MANIPULATE the outrage.

Whether the decision to ban the weapons was a good one or not (and it certainly makes life easier for an oppressive government if they are banned) is a separate question, but the outrage was because of what happened.

I don't know whether gun ownership makes things better or worse - time will tell.  Guns may be the one factor that prevents the US from falling under absolute totalitarianism.  The UK policy on guns may mean that the population are helpless.  Maybe killing sprees are a price worth paying to protect freedoms.  Maybe guns won't be required in which case the deaths from killing sprees weren't worth it.  I don't know.

Irrespective, the public were outraged by what happened.  I don't believe you can blame manipulation in this case.

In the US, ownership of firearms has always been a RIGHT of the people - everyone has grown up with this right.  Not so in the UK - and support for gun ownership is weaker here.  Very few people had firearms in the first place.

Your correlation of gun control events in the UK is somewhat off. That faggot pedophile was able to walk into a kindergarten and murder 13 toddlers and their teacher because....no one else around had a gun. Ditto Breivik, in Norway. So it goes.

Oh yes, that's it! If the teacher and the toddlers were carrying their side arms, they'd have been able to kill the assailant before he got them. Same with the people in Norway - if only those teenagers at the youth camp were carrying their weapons with them.

However, that all falls apart when we talk about Columbine. Surely there would have been some people around that had some guns, yet somehow, people were still killed.

For a troll, you'll need to do better next time.

Bullshit.  The populace of the UK has a very colourful history of taking up arms against their nobles and royals, much more so than on the Continent.  Taking modern arms out of the hands of the general public is but the first step to taking the piss out of them.

Fucking Jesus are you grasping at straws or what?

God Bless America is just a ripoff of films like Super, Kick ass, Griff the Invisible, Heathers, and the way earlier  Little Murders.

Fuck dude your argument would have been better applied to Postal the movie or Rampage.

To be clear, God Bless America is NOT a ploy to steal your guns by associating crazy people with comedy violence.

Of course crazy people associating films with ploys to steal their guns speaks for itself doesn't it.

Populist Bonny n Clyde?

For people who don't want to take the tough route to nation rebuild, by controlling political process through sensible voting and democracy, who prefer the easy route of guns and violence; which a super armed state can handle most easily, as its taking candy from a baby; this theme is so seductive for the wrong reasons. The road to totalitarian state is paved with "easy" intentions and tragic consequences.

The other route, if its well organised, saves both individual honour/integrity and institutions, as it is in the logic of three thousand year evolution; if only we didn't forget those lessons for which the best of each generation died, the first to die on barricades, in the trenches, on the walls of feudal castles, alongside Spartacus. It goes on and on the list of lost heroes. We are condemned to copy them. It reflects Athens today...this dilemma.

But I'm getting carried away; its just a movie!

Why do these institutions need to be saved again by the inhuman tolerance of the american people when they're all pretty much worthless and corrupt to the core? Either the rule of law is restored and corruption voluntarily wiped out of these instututions, without any voting or referendums, or people are going to start shooting each other. And if you told the continental army they were taking the easy way out by fighting the british they'd probably send you on a boat back to europe.

I agree about history though, the only lesson it teaches is that people never learn a thing from it. Then again that could be the fault of our worthless and corrupt public indoctrination system.

Well gee whiz, I'm kinda glad the founding fathers took the easy route instead of relying on sensible voting and democracy. Does anyone really believe the power center will just walk away peacefully?

'cos they were a colony; do you know what the word COLONY means?

If in the USA today, if  TPTB did not allow free voting and true democracy, exercise of free will, ONLY THEN would insurrection be the ONLY route, like for Founding fathers. Put the picture back in the frame...
