Social Unrest and First amendment right

Protesting and social Unrest is an unpleasant phenomenon experienced primarily by large groups of populations that have lost hope and belief in the system. These unsavory protests are usually found in third world countries but also found in countries such as the US (Occupy Wallstreet Movement) and in European countries as well. In 2012 a US factory manager was locked up by workers in China protesting working conditions and pay. A recent post in Jim Rogers Blog , the investment guru was quoted saying, "You're already seeing social unrest in many countries, and it's going to get a lot worse I assure you. This is not going to be fun. Don't think I'm looking forward to this. ....it's going to mean a lot of unpleasant times." In the US protesting is often protected by a persons first ammendment, a right to free speech. However it hasnt always been like that. Around 40 years ago, black Americans have not been treated as equals. They have endured the painful process of having to fight for what has been considered the rights of every man since our nation's founding. For the African American, the journey has been long, and difficult. It was only after the Vietnam war, when Americans of all nationalities fought and died along side of each other, black Americans were given a measure of personal freedom and recognition. Thankfully things have changed for the better and even though its not perfect, we can proudly say americans of all nationalities and color now enjoy the same opportunities. We must continue to strive for equal opportunities and personal development otherwise, social unrest and large protests can happen at anytime without warning. The best thing for us to do is to be prepared when it happens by educating the public on doing the right thing. Also having police officers enforcing laws fairly regardless of one's skin color will make people feel much more comfortable. --- via [ http://blog.lib.umn.edu/rojax001/investmentexperts_/blog ]
