Ask Bernanke a question.
So I have been watching the entertainment that is Washington, in particular Bernanke's visits to the Hill, and the actions in the equity markets and I am rightfully disgusted by it all. As I descend further into my Libertarian/Objectivist funk I fantasize about what I would do if I were one of the meat heads doing the questioning (although I have no aspirations of being one of those congressional pukes just as I have no desire to hang around drug addicts). This is what I would ask:
Are you aware of any attempt or actually implementation of any strategy or plan by the FED, FOMC or any other government entity, government sponsored entity or any entity over which the government has regulatory control to intervene in anyway in the equity or futures based on equity markets? Remember you are under oath and if it is found that you are providing false testimony you will be prosecuted under the full extent of the law.
What would you ask?

I would ask him where he buys his underwear, and if the outlay for said underwear were large enough to support the market/economy. I remember that George H.W. Bush once bought socks during a recession, and while that didn't turn things around immediately, that purchase seemed to turn things around as soon as he was out of office.
