September 19, 2009 March on Wall Street
Ladies and Gentlemen: A call to (non-violent) arms.
It's time to do something other than write emails and make phone calls to unresponsive Senators and Congressmen. Time to do something other than fulminate angrily on blogspots before returning to PornWorld and online shopping. Time to make the protest something other than a "lunatic fringe" activity the MSM media, at the behest of its masters, attempts to paint our very real concerns. Time to stop feeling good simply because you "at least" do those things, and time to stop feeling bad because you don't know what to do. Time to pay a visit to Lower Manhattan on a sunny late summer Friday, in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, and lay a non-violent message on our Administration and the Wall Street oligarchs controlling our government, and at least try to awaken the somnolent masses. Time to congregate peaceably around 85 Broad, the NYSE, the New York Fed offices, and other addresses, and get out the rusty megaphones and speak out against the outrages. Time to demand the passage of HR 1207 S 604, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. Time to demand that justice be served, and meted out according to law.
Need some motivation? The date was chosen for a reason. Let's review this portion of that little gem deposited in our national toilet bowl by Paulson and his clown posse from GS (published September 20, 2008 in the New York Times):
"Sec. 8. Review.
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency."
I'm sure we could list other sources of inspiration (please do, in response to this post.) Let's be responsible citizens for a change and actually do something. Let's take advantage of our rights as citizens to make our message heard. It's not a waste of time - it may be the most important action you take this summer. A drive, a train ride (I encourage mass transit, especially from all points in the Northeast) and a nice day in NYC. In fact, I have a better piece of legislation for you to consider.
"Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
But numbers are needed, and for that reason I humby ask that this be cross-posted to as many other websites as possible, to get out the message. 90 people ranting in front of 85 Broad is a waste of time; 90,000 will get a nice review on HLN, but 900,000 or more will start people to thinking, and strike fear in the hearts of those of who to seek to keep us submissive and ineffective. We only need a date, a time and a place - the rest will follow if enough show up.
It's your choice.
I'm looking forward to the closing statements by Samuel L. Jackson:
"And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them." - Ezekiel 25:17 (non Pulp Fiction version, but I think he should go with the entire script version for maximum stirring effect.)
Lock and load.
Don't want to rain on the parade, but Sept. 19 is Saturday. Friday sounds better.
A thousand apologoe, good friend. I have struggled with proper dates since the Calendar Act of 1750, and still to this day lapse into the more ancient Julian calendar. You are quite right. Asking our comrades to spare a weekend for this noble endeavor might be overreaching, so let us again raise a cry to march, this time on a more modern TGIF theme, so let it this cry ring forth from every pulpit in our fair land:
The Million Patriot March on Wall Street is Friday, September 18, 2009.
Still a bold task, and a new beginning of our quest to overthrow the yoke of tyranny.
I remain,
Your Chronologically Challenged Friend,
Ghost of Publius.
OUTSTANDING!!!
It might help to post a new thread with the corrected date to link to with the title
The Million Patriot March on Wall Street is Friday, September 18, 2009.
Cheers
Ghost, You have indicated a place (85 Broad St) and a date (9/18/09). Still need a time. I wouldn't want to arrive several hours early, wait around for two hours, decide I'm the only one who showed up, leave and subsequently miss the companionship of my fellow patriots and attendant festivities.
Ghost,
Allow me to clarify. I feel your cause is a worthy one and, therefore, am willing to spend on train fair. But I cannot afford to potentially, frivolously waste train fare if I do not know when to be there. Also, since I would be coming from more than 100 miles from NYC, I would need a good idea of what train ticket to purchase. No offense intended but, having grown up in the greater metro NYC area the idea of spending a day in the Big Apple for my own personal pleasure is, for me, an oxymoron.
If you prefer to not publicly post a time, you may email me at Letfreedomring1787@gmail.com
