As we reported earlier, Camden may be broke, the local police may now be history, unemployment may be 50%, it may be nothing more than one big crack cocaine depot and driving through downtown at less than 88 mph may be hazardous to your health, but that wasn't always the case. I went to Upenn in Philly & had the many opportunities to go through Camden by subway several times. Believe me, you'll never want to go there even in day time. The place looks as though it was hit by a neutron bomb &, on top of that, the politics is so corrupted the city is beyond repair.
I think there's a worse city in the area....perhaps the worst in the country. It's Chester. The politics is so corrupted & dysfunctional that the federal govt had to take over the city. Dumpsters from all over the east coast would go there to throw their refuse. The place is full of roaches after many yrs of graft & neglect.
Maybe Newark is worse.....I don't know. It's good competition.
