His opponent, fresh from victory in their previous epic battle, fighting from the red corner, the deceivingly slippery Mitt 'the mauler' Romney. I think the bigger problem than the Prez and moderator who get it wrong isn't as serious as the fact that Obama would want to call out Romney's press release about it. That's one of those really telling things about our current political situation--the press releases are more important than the events.

Pretty good debate for the nonsense of it all. I think a huge fact checking moment comes in the early part where Romney-Obama beat off over oil production on public lands. That was pretty weird. Otherwise, it was total flower seeds over the next hour an half. The important point being that neither one said that we are basically screwed as a paradigmn and the replacement is to be announced. Romney seemed a little crazed and Obama could have been a little nastier.
Fox just ran some fact checking...Romney was right about the oil rights...Obama, per usual lying...

I should add that your point is accurate though...even if we did have more oil and gas - companies here, as noted elsewhere on this thread and before on this site - are sending the oil overseas because they ship to the highest bidder.
