Killed Chechen Bomber Brother: "I Don't Have A Single American Friend, I Don't Understand Them."
While the first alleged terrorist bomber, 19 year-old Dhjokar Tsarnaev, born in Kyrgystan, is on the loose currently somewhere in Boston and is the target of a massive manhunt, his brother, 26 year-old, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, born in Russia and legal US resident since 2007, died overnight in a shootout with the local police. It appears he was a boxer, studied at Bunker Hill Community College, was very religious, didn't drink or smoke, wanted to become an engineer, and his favorite movie was Borat. Most informative is a captioned photo narrative by Johannes Hirn showcasing the older brother's boxing pursuits and a glimpse into his history and philosophy.

Originally from Chechnya, but living in the United States since five years, Tamerlan says: "I don't have a single American friend, I don't understand them."
Tamerlan, 196 lbs, will represent New England in the heavyweight category at the National Golden Gloves competition in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Tamerlan, who studies at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston and wants to become an engineer, took the semester off from school to train for the competition.
If he wins enough fights there, Tamerlan says he could be selected for the US Olympic team and be naturalized American. Unless his native Chechnya becomes independent, Tamerlan says he would rather compete for the United States than for Russia.
Tamerlan fled Chechnya with his family because of the conflict in the early 90s, and lived for years in Kazakhstan before getting to the United States as a refugee.
"I'm dressed European style," Tamerlan says.

Tamerlan says his girlfriend is half Portuguese, half Italian girlfriend and converted to Islam: "She's beautiful, man!"

The media interviewed the Mercedes mechanic which L always brought to him and saying it was his gf 's car. The last time he serviced the car he called it his friend's car. So the GF became a friend.
He bombed a group of multicultural people engaging in an athletic event. I can't rationalize "I don't have any American friends because I don't understand them" and extrapolate that out to what you are implying.
Normal, stable people would probably leave it at "not understanding". But statistically, there will be some nutcases to whom essentially it means they care nothing about Americans, hence blowing them up is not a big deal.
Have you ever spoken to hardcore muslims (or any religion, really)? Those who *truly* believe that they are the chosen ones, that they, and their akin, are truly above the common masses, better than the average human? Those are the truly scary ones.
Reminds me of a documentary I saw ages ago about Nazi Germany. Many of the interviewed said about the committed atrocities that they had been brainwashed to believe that ie jews were muck, that they were no better than rats scurrying about in the dust, and that society would be cleaner, healtier for eliminating the problem.
Granted, it's bit of a stretch to connect all of this to that original comment, and all of this is speculation, but as population count increases, you'll find increasingly extreme elements. And the brothers supposedly were very religious, so who knows.

i grew up in former ussr so i know a few things about chechens and dagestanis and the prevailing mentality there is pretty odd. but here is what i find partic starnge - they are generally very tribal people where family overrides everything. If one of them is killed they wouldnt stop till they take revenge or get paid off.. thats the tradition.. so was this to happen in russia i would not be surprised at all...
but its not like US is at war with their people.. i find it very hard to make a leap from their tribal mentality to them becoming these "kill everyone" type fanatics.. very very odd

My cousin works at a company in Columbus, Ohio. Someone he worked with for a number of years was arrested for planning to bomb a mall. Nobody had a clue he was a terrorist. He had a wife and kids, was a good worker etc.
Looking at oh, the last twenty years of results in this country, I'd trust Alex Jones with my safety before I'd trust this bunch of goddamned fools in our government. Jones has some wacky theories from time to time but he makes sense overall. Our government? Absolutely no idea what the hell they're trying to do. But it's not working too well.
