John Kerry: "We Would Prefer That Russia Is Not Supplying Assistance To Syria"

Tyler Durden's picture

Following up on the earlier report that Israel had warned the US that Russia was preparing to sell "advanced" military equipment to Syria (in False Flag Broken Telephone fashion), it was only a matter of time before the new US Secretary of State voiced his indignation over a development whereby someone else was providing arms to a conflict country's government, instead of the US providing its own weapons to said country's Al Qaeda-assisted rebel forces. Sure enough, he did: "I think we have made it crystal clear that we would prefer that Russia is not supplying assistance," Mr. Kerry said at a news conference after meeting the new Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino." While there was no immediate quote substantiating it, there is a rumor that Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov's response was a less than politically correct phrasing along the lines that he "would prefer that the US not supply assistance to Syrian rebels."

From WSJ:

Secretary of State John Kerry said the transfer of advanced missile defense systems from Russia to Syria could potentially destabilize Israel's security, as he announced new humanitarian aid for Syria.

Mr. Kerry said the U.S. has expressed concerns about what the S-300 batteries in Syria would mean for Israel's security. He wouldn't address what the missiles might mean for Syria's civil war.

Speaking to reporters in Rome Thursday, the secretary of state stressed the U.S. would prefer Russia not to provide military assistance to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The Wall Street Journal reported that Russia was preparing to sell the weapons to Mr. Assad's regime, saying Israel had warned the U.S.

Mr. Kerry also praised Moscow for helping try to organize peace talks on Syria.

"I think we have made it crystal clear that we would prefer that Russia is not supplying assistance," Mr. Kerry said at a news conference after meeting the new Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino.

Mr. Kerry also announced Thursday that the U.S. would provide $100 million in new funds aimed at providing humanitarian aid for Syria. He said the funds were "another step forward," in helping support refugees and civilians trapped in the spiral of violence inside Syria.

And the reason why America is beloved all over the world:

Mr. Kerry also reiterated that Mr. Assad cannot be part of any transitional government in the country. "The foreign minister will work with us, as they have, to try to bring all the parties to the table so that we can effect a transition government by mutual consent on both sides, which clearly means that, in our judgment, President Assad will not be a component of that transitional government," he said.

Or, in other words, popular opinion abroad is irrelevant if and when the US has spoken what it believes is best in order to "liberate" said popular opinion.

Then the SHTF and Syria becomes a sideshow.

It’s probably not possible for America to survive as a free country if one more Middle Eastern war is fought for the benefit of Israel. Why? Because there will be no chance of overturning the banking cartel that uses Israeli foreign police as its military arm.

The problem for Kerry is the U.S./Israeli rebel idea has not worked out. The rebels have turned out to be completely irresponsible and unable to overcome the Syrian forces except in certain areas. There’s nothing new here. In order to placate Israel, the U.S. always says it would prefer to have Assad leave. But, in the end, the rebels may not be able to over take him…and there’s a growing awareness in the world that what the rebels want is an Islamic dictatorship whereby they lock down the entire country.

There’s only one definition of Syria; and that definition is Iran. The only reason we’re there and lying about it is that Syria’s best friend is Iran. And in order to approach control of Iran, the US aka Israel aka International Bankers, needs to knock down the Assad regime.

"Whatever happened in North Korea?"

Planting season began:

(Reuters, April 9, 2013)

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/04/09/us-korea-north-military-idUSBRE93814F20130409

(Reuters) - As a North Korean army signaler near the tense sea border with the South, Lee So-yeon was given live ammunition and a steel helmet during a 1993 crisis, but soon found herself back doing what she and her comrades did most - farming.

It's a vital service in a country where millions cannot find enough to eat.

That crisis 20 years ago - Pyongyang announced it was quitting a global nuclear pact - eventually passed. For hundreds of thousands of soldiers now fired up for the possibility of war by Pyongyang's propaganda machine, Lee said spring planting would soon become the top priority.

Several other North Korean army defectors said nothing had changed since Lee was a signaler, suggesting Pyongyang might soon tone down its rhetoric against Washington and Seoul so its soldiers can sow rice, cabbage, beans, corn, potatoes and onions.

"North Korea can't farm without the army ... The North Korean army's main job is malnutrition eradication," said Kim Na-young, a North Korean female army defector who spent five years until 1996 in an army unit on the east coast and came to South Korea in late 2008.

Jang Jin-sung, a former North Korean government propagandist who defected in 2004 and runs a defector publication in Seoul, said the military had not changed over the decades.

"They are doing the same work and the same duties," he said.

I would prefer that our government not support Islamic fascist like we see with the Syrian Al-Qaeda. If that were the case John Kerry your Libyan ambassador would still be alive. Benghazi, Libya and what is happening in Syria are the same foreign policy mistakes that started with the so called Arab Spring back in Egypt. This amounts to the outright support of the Muslim Brotherhood who are the same group that spawned Al-Qaeda and Al-Zawahiri. This administrations foreign policy is getting Catholics and nonMuslims all over the Middle East either displaced or killed. Don't just take my own word for it. Do your own research.

The presence of the S-300 batteries in Damascus might force NATO to launch a ground attack on the eastern outskirts of Damascus from the northern Jordanian border, along which it has been arrayed since the beginning of the present war in Syria. This move may be complemented by means of an Israeli concentration of forces on the Golan heights, in order to force most Syrian forces to remain assigned to the western outskirts of Damascus, or else the Israeli forces could move on Damascus, thus complementing the NATO-Jordanian prong towards a pincer movement on Damascus. Just because you are a skull and bones man and your whole agenda is about WAR and the support of your skully folks at home who profit from MOAR WAR, it dose not mean you have to tell the Russians they should not send weapons to Syria. @" "I think we have made it crystal clear that we would prefer that Russia is not supplying assistance," Mr. Kerry said.
this sentence does not comport to the grammatical standards normally
associated with the English language, not even American slang standards;
it is neither clear nor crystal clear or poetic to my ear.
it seems like he is trying to wish, with crystal clarity, the real
world of geo-political interests assumed by real people with real
survival needs not exist in reality and could be "preferred" out
of existence by the improper use of the word "is", "crystal clear" and
"prefer".
he could have said..." why don't we just pretend that, in this particular
case, we can prosecute a proxy war using Rumsfeld's "dead enders" assisted
by Israel (don't bring that up again, al-ciada allied with Israel), to
install another puppet government in the region to do the bidding on a
local level of the multi-national corporations and banking, debt slave
based, failing global system. and ...and .. there is no reason for anyone
to take notice or object, especially the b.r.i.c.s., they love our federal
reserve debt notes just as well as the American taxpayer is required to, no?
oh wait, not really.
what did mr. hicks say? quoting ? " this is the first time I have seen
someone in the diplomatic corp. displaying more balls that the military."
something like that in regards cancelled benghazi rescue effort.
the meaning, words mean nothing, stalin was right, power comes from
the end of the barrel of a gun. so, why have diplomats or language
skills as they may pertain to markets or negotiation or communication
involving more that communication of demands? it is clearly de-evolutionary
and oh so popular and seductive and pervasive. and other things I do not
care to mention as the comments soon become degrading and ...foul, etc..
.
it has been too long, way too long since the state department and the
diplomats have actually attempted to use language, diplomacy or any
rational market based arrangement that has a component of mutual benefit.
conclusion, the state department is rusty and inept when it comes to
civil communication skills. they appear to be more accustomed to weapons
and death threats and executions, not to mention torture and imprisonment.
source problem ....debt based money over time and internal fraud and usury
at the root.
oh, I think Ellen is on, love that women ! gotta go.
.
"prefer". prefer? is this some kind of diplomatically coded tough guy talk?
.
who is doing the bulk of the stacking today?

Fascism is the philosophy of using violence as a first resort, to achieve state policy aims.

Words are thus surplus to requirement, except for where MSM sound bite needs must be furnished, towards the efficient operation of the State lie-support apparatus.

This resulting lack of emphasis on words accounts for the deterioration in the standards of formal diplomatic language within communiques.

i.e. actions speak louder than words.

@"Fascism is the philosophy of using violence as a first resort, to achieve state policy aims."...
.
the question then arises regarding the level of resistance to policy aims
and whether violence will accomplish or plow the ground of the aim.
here one must ask "what is the aim"?
the "economy" has established that to be preparation for
eternal and continuous violence of a greater and more
efficient potential.
they said " when the whales do battle the shrimp suffer ".
I say " when the machines do battle the humans die " .
the state exists to support the machines?

We are such hypocrites:

http://www.businessweek.com/ap/2013-04-08/us-clears-way-to-arm-train-somali-forces

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama cleared the way Monday for the U.S. to arm and train Somali forces, taking a step toward normal relations with the East African nation as it works to build confidence in its newly recognized government.

In a memo to Secretary of State John Kerry, Obama said he has determined that supplying defense equipment and services "will strengthen the security of the United States and promote world peace." The move doesn't immediately provide new assistance to Somalia, but allows Kerry to consider taking that step in the future.

Somalia is trying to preserve fragile progress toward establishing its first functional government after two decades of chaos. The U.S. formally recognized the African nation's new government in January — the first time the U.S. had recognized a Somali government since 1991, when warlords overthrew longtime dictator Siad Barre and then turned on one another.

"The United States is committed to being a long-term partner in assisting the defense forces in Somalia defense to become a professional military force," said National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden.

A relative peace has returned to Somalia's war-battered capital of Mogadishu since African Union forces ousted al-Shabab — a militant group loosely associated with al-Qaida — from the city over 18 months ago. But al-Shabab rebels are not yet defeated, and the U.S. remains concerned about the threat the group could pose to the region's stability. The U.S. designated al-Shabab a terrorist group in 2008.

...

There you have it.  By arming and training a "professional military force" of Somalian rebels (but they are on our side!) we are going to "promote world peace."  Afghanistan, anyone?

Sometimes it seems like we are living in a backwards world, and this brings to mind Kurt Vonnegut's classic book, Slaughterhouse Five, and Billy's 'backwards movie'.  For those interested in a really profound bit of writing, here is a link:

Sequester at home, $100,000,000 abroad, cool.

This is all barking, not biting.  I will just sit back, relax, and watch the dog show.  Russia won't bite but they've been supporting Syria in this cause for awhile so they at least have to bark, for perception's sake.  I'm pretty sure we made a deal.  I'm also pretty sure that if we hadn't made a deal Russia would be dropping bombs on Isreal right now.  What are they waiting for?  I know, the end of the conflict.  Call me when Russia drops a bomb.  Syria already has Russian weapons, this is nothing new.

Woof woof!

History may not repeat, but it sure does rhyme. This is right from the pages of the Cold War - just insert Korea, Vietnam, or any of the smaller conflicts fueled by Russia arming one side and the US arming the other.

Why not supply the rebels with attack jets? Assad shops at Altey-Almaz for all his air defense needs, and his S-300's are lethal. Plenty of broken airplane windows to help out our economy!

"We Would Prefer That Russia Is Not Supplying Assistance To Syria"

Further clairity: Because we have lost our main wholesale distribution hub in Benghazi.

Were in contact with a Real Estate broker right now checking out another beautiful Villa situated in a very quiet neighborhood, As a professional courtesy to the US Military Industrial complex,

We respectfully request  Russia not to fill this temporary void in our lead roll of arming our controled opposition through this durattion of down time we will be experiencing.

The US is so used to betraying its allies (mainly under Democrats) it can't understand why Russia won't do the same thing.  Russia will not be yielding to the US which has become a bully to small countries but afraid to take on countries with real muscle.

True, Bazza. We have bred a generation of mind controlled 60s permissive brats who would scam for anything, so they can party on...at the heel of Rothschild Zionism and the old banking and monarchy families of Britain and Europe.

The true Republics need to get off their knees and expose the scams and lies at the highest levels of our erstwhile governments, the paid pets of the old international financiers and their monarchies, including their paedophile Vatican.

I would prefer that the US government which I pay for did not supply assistance to Syrian 'rebels', and destabilise the region for the profit of Rothschild Zionism which has nothing to do with American jews, nor anyone else, except the international banksters of old Europe, Britain and the Vatican who are hateful greedy money grubbing warmonger 'globalists', as per the psychopathic agenda of the Trilateral Commission, and their Nazi ways.
