Oklahoma Tornado Devastation: Before And After Picture

Tyler Durden's picture

The biggest story of the early part of the week was the massive 1+ mile-wide Tornado ploughing through a suburb of Oklahoma City leading to dozens of deaths and billions in damage. And while the story has already faded from the 15 minutes of collective random access memory, the following aerial picture showing just how devastating nature can be when it so chooses, is one to behold.

This HAARP shit is so ridiculous.

Anyone that passed HS physics will know that the amount of energy required to modify weather is astronomical. Additionally, weather, like rain, storms, etc. require an energy carrier, "fuel," like water vapor and an energy gradient, or differential, as well.

So even if one could bring enough energy to bare on a large enough area, an energy carrier would need to be present in great enough quantities to absorb that energy. Conditions would also have to be such that a large enough energy gradient would be created to cause that energy to disassociate from its carrier.

HAARP = Unicorns

HAARP or no, the question is, is it possible to influence/manipulate the weather.  How?  To what extent?  And for what purpose could this then be used.

If you say its not possible I will disagree. If you say the cost/benefits don't work out, then I am listening.

I actually live not too far from the HAARP facility, and have seen it on a couple of occasions, as well as the power lines feeding into it, and they are most certainly NOT the ultra-heavy-duty kind of lines that would have to exist to serve a facility that was feeding massive amounts of power into the atmosphere for nefarious purposes.  For that matter, such huge electricity generating facilities, or the potential for such, simply does not exist ANYWHERE in the state of Alaska.  I call bullshit on all this HAARP nonsense --- for once, it truly is just a "conspiracy theory".

Ha! Shows what you know.

They are using zero-point energy. It's got about 10 bazzilion times more umph than regular energy. They pull zero-point energy right out of the air, too. So after they pump it into the atmosphere to create hurricanes and earthquakes anywhere they want to, they pull it right back out and use it again later.

You are all blind to the truth.

HAARP exists. Whether it manipulates the weather is up for debate. Geoengineering and weather mod is standard today. This has been going on for 50 years. Lynmouth flood (UK) in 1952 is a good starting point to understand the beginnings of weather modification and its unintended or intended consequences.

Odd, but I have not seen any stories about people waiting for FEMA to rescue them.

No pleading for Uncle Sugar to ride onto the scene.

No widespread looting.

No need to deploy private contractors to protect businesses and infrastructure.

No widespread raids on pharmacies.

Hmmmmmm.....

Gotta love those hearty fly-over state residents.

Self sufficient and determined.

10:1 those neighborhoods are completely rebuilt within 1-2 years.

I was relieved to hear that only 24 people lost their lives, I thought the number would be in the hundreds.

I have to wonder though, how many underground shelters, for elementary schools, would $85 billion a month buy ???

Thu, 05/23/2013 - 13:39 | 3592754 Big Corked Boots
Big Corked Boots's picture

I have built a couple of schools that had pipe tunnels under the hallways and an escape hatch in each classroom. Response time for shelter is theoretically 60 seconds with proper announcement. For new construction, it is not outrageously expensive, and it makes maintenance and upgrade of building systems easier and cheaper. Of course those were single story schools out in the hinterlands, so, it might not work in denser communities.

Thu, 05/23/2013 - 15:20 | 3593241 cougar_w
cougar_w's picture

Tell you what. If all they did was make hallways between classrooms out of reinforced cinder blocks with a concrete slab ceiling, kids could huddle there and miss 90% of the flying debris even if the classrooms are demolished. The doors into classrooms are already fire-proof, could probably withstand a F5 and if not then go with steel doors. The "hallway" becomes the retreat.

Run into the hallway, close the doors, ride it out.

Not well thought out I know, I'm not a civil engineer. But if I could come up with that in 30 seconds I imagine a civil engineer could hammer together a working spec in an afternoon. And even if it wouldn't ride out an F5 at 100% at least you'd have something better than hiding under the desk with nothing at all.

Funny the writer acts like it is bad for the story to have faded when it is this same site that didn't even make ONE post about that sweatshop clothing factory in Bangladesh collapsing (that was used to make many North American company clothing products) killing over 1000 people mainly because of building and safety violations. Apparently not reporting that is A-OK but not talking about a tornado in the U.S of A is an issue.

No American bias there.
