Booz Allen Releases Snowden Update, Discloses His Salary

Tyler Durden's picture

The first Booz Allen official press release resulting from the Snowden fallout hit just over two hours after the Guardian revealed his identity. Now, Booz Allen has released a follow up press release, this time apparently emphasizing that the employee is now terminated (we guessed as much), and amusingly, that his salary was $122,000. Supposedly this is to discredit the self-reported account that Snowden's salary was $200,000. Frankly, we find it surprising that the NSA has not yet leaked Edward's full confidential dossier, including by what age his bed-wetting habit was successfully contained. Because all is fair in covert ops war and character assassination.

From Carlyle Group-majority owned company Booz:

Booz Allen can confirm that Edward Snowden, 29, was an employee of our firm for less than 3 months, assigned to a team in Hawaii. Snowden, who had a salary at the rate of $122,000, was terminated June 10, 2013 for violations of the firm’s code of ethics and firm policy. News reports that this individual has claimed to have leaked classified information are shocking, and if accurate, this action represents a grave violation of the code of conduct and core values of our firm. We will work closely with our clients and authorities in their investigation of this matter.

"He is far too articulate for an average non HS graduate."

More likely, the guy is so intellegent that HS bored him to tears, didn't interest or challenge him at all.  That's common with many hackers I've read about.  Also, he's from a broken home, so that didn't help.

And consider the college dropouts, Wozniak, Jobs, and Gates who are among these people:

I dropped out of high school, slipped into college, and didn't complete that either.  Those institutions came to interfere with my education, so I got on with it and left.  Nobody has ever known until I told them, nor cared.  The lack of those credentials has kept me out of the traditional HR hiring process, but I've never wanted a job one gets that way, so it's never mattered.

A guy like this is also a classic CIA hire.  The more typical recruitment path would be from a college, but they keep an eye out for a bright, young, restless inquisitive sort.  I wasn't in anything that interested them, I suppose, but I would have fit a profile at one time.

Something indeed doesn't jive here, but I don't think it's his lack of formal education.  He's good at things often not taught, anyway, like seeing connections.

Hey Anonymous, yes you group of hackers who like to show everyone what you can do.

Now this is a challenge for you.

Take out this stuff permanently, let the American citizen know what is really be collected and if there are any notations beside innocent people's names, such as five year olds on no fly lists and grandma terrorists.

If they want info on anyone and wiretaps, let them go to a judge for a court order, like in the old days.

Give us the rundown of the people running these places and see if there is any dirt on them, police reports for spousal abuse, buying hookers and so on.

Let's turn this around, let them know how it feels.

What kind of code of conduct is it that allows for violating the Constitutional rights of Americans by the firm?  the firm should never ahave agreed to violate our Constitutinal rights, if they hold core values.

Snowden is just the first.

You can try and tighten up access, but it won't matter. Humans are corruptible. All of them. The fact that this information exists is now known. It's the biggest honeypot in existence and every government and corporation with enough money to bribe will be thinking about what they want, and who they have to bribe or blackmail to get it.

China, Saudi Arabia, Goldman Sachs. How much would they pay to get the emails and phone records of those who opposed their interests? The possibilities for using this information are endless.

Ironically, the NSA database is now the biggest security risk in the world.

ok look.... we are NOT SPYING ON YOU OR LISTENING TO YOUR COMMUNICATIONS OR VIOLATING YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS in real time.... we are just storing all your data for future reference in case we DESIGNATE YOU AS A MEMBER OF THE TEA PARTY OR OTHER LEGAL POLITICAL OPPOSITION, OR ASSOCIATES AS TREASONOUS... then we can go back and get the evidence we need to incriminate you, if we dont just make something up about you and have a "lion" of the senate judge and convict you in advance of due process. So there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

for example ERIC HOLDER TELLS A JUDGE a reporter is "guilty" of espionage and possibly treasonous activity... and the JUDGE IN ALL HIS WISDOM AND OF COURSE FOLLOWING THE "LAW" tells Eric to proceed. See ... absolutely NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. THE "SYSTEM WORKS"... the only time the system doesnt work is when russia three times and saudi ariabia several times presents rock solid factual evidence to the Homeland Security and FBI about TERRORISTS... THEN OF COURSE WE CAN T "CONNECT THE DOTS" AND SHIT LIKE BOSTON HAPPENS...

You see. we protect terrorists rights ... so logically the best thing to do is be a real TERRORIST, SECOND BEST BE HERE illegally... and IN THIRD PLACE.... be a USA citizen and obey the law. got it ??
