Nancy Pelosi Gets Booed And Heckled By Supporters For NSA Support

You know it’s bad for the establishment when Nancy Pelosi gets booed and heckled by her own supporters at a progressive gathering in her home state of California. It seems the actions of the criminals in control of these United States finally have become so absurd that the apathetic citizenry is being shaken from its long slumber. While the process may be frustratingly slow for many of us, things are moving in the right direction at the grassroots level and the zeitgeist of the nation is changing for the better. Once again, we must be eternally grateful for the courageous actions of Edward Snowden, as his disclosures have forced us all to honestly pick a side between freedom and fascism. SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has disappointed some of her liberal base with her defense of the Obama administration’s classified surveillance of U.S. residents’ phone and Internet records.
Some of the activists attending the annual Netroots Nation political conference Saturday booed and interrupted the San Francisco Democrat when she commented on the surveillance programs carried out by the National Security Agency and revealed by a former contractor, Edward Snowden.
As she was attempting to argue that Obama’s approach to citizen surveillance was an improvement over the policies under President George W. Bush, an activist, identified by the Mercury News as Mac Perkel of Gilroy, stood up and tried loudly to question her, prompting security guards to escort him out of the convention hall.
“Leave him alone!” audience members shouted. Others yelled “Secrets and lies!,” ”No secret courts!” and “Protect the First Amendment!,” according to the Mercury News.
“We’re listening to our progressive leaders who are supposed to be on our side of the team saying it’s OK for us to get targeted” for online surveillance, said Jana Thrift of Eugene, Ore. “It’s crazy. I don’t know who Nancy Pelosi really is.”

If there were a lottery to be the person to drop the guillotine on Nancy, I would use my life savings for tickets. I honestly believe that in those few seconds where the brain is still active while her head falls into the basket, she would still be spewing the same inchorent, contradictory, and illogical stream of talking points she's been fed, regurgitated, and re-fed over the years.

TPTB are frantically working with the press to cast Snowden as a traitor and major threat to the state. Every one of the commentaries I’ve heard by their favorite media mouthpieces sounds like they took an old condemnation of Osama Bin Laden from the ninth chapter of the propaganda playbook to combat terrorism and substituted Snowden’s name in his place. The problem (for them) is that just isn’t selling in this case. It rings hollow, like an empty oil drum, and seems phonier than Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries. People can easily see that Ed Snowden is neither Osama Bin Laden reincarnated, nor a major threat at this point to the safety and security of America. If anything, the smear campaign being used by TPTB against Snowden is backfiring on them by demonstrating to everyone what calculating and condescending douche bags they are who think they know what’s better for us than we do and want to sell us on that idea too.

The fact that nobody in the US is raging in the street has many people to hypothesize that it's apathy and/or ignorance. I felt the same way. But a couple of random conversations with friends and work mates, I starting to think it's something else. Something that Cougar also said to me in a post the Kunstler article. He said

Similar to a few of my friends thinking. I think everybody at some level knows what's wrong. Their scope of the reasons is increasing slowly but surely everyday with things like Snowden and places like ZH and all the rest.

This whole mess will not end well. You have a bunch of true believers who REALLY DO NOT LIKE being questioned or held accountable for their actions.
First, a lot of their assumption of superiority is based on circular logic - "I'm powerful because I'm right, I'm right because I'm powerful." Think about the way secret information is assumed to be superior, and why we make so much of "the information age".
Second, look at the masses and how so many have become like the leadership. No sense of responsibility (in fact they avoid it at all costs), morality so relative it's anchored to a tornado and about as destructive as one to boot, ignorance, and an aggressive pride in that ignorance.
Let's look at their ignorance, especially with regard to security and scientific matters. Almost no one in the legislative or executive branch have ever served in the military or have any form of science background. They have no real choice except to accept the views of those who please them. The fact an argument may sound plausible but be dead wrong (Climate "Science", or other model-based data such as "Limits to Growth") is at best conveniently ignored. These people may be good at winning arguments, but they suck at defining problems in any but the most narrow and selfish terms.
This country, in essence, is handing its future to something worse than cave dwellers - it is handing it to 18th century aristocrat wannabees. At least a tribal chieftain is smart enough to realize that what can burn his foes might just burn him as well. Aristocrats will endlessly justify why that cannot be so.

With all due respect here, I think Nancy Pelosi did not pay attention to the crowd she was addressing, in other words these were technologists, administrators, programmers, developers, etc. and many write code. They create like and similar technologies so to say Snowden was guilty, well it is obvious why this didn't go over as she was talking to the intelligent folks that are talented and do this type of work. Snowden was one of them and there's respect for that. This was not the average consumer crowd and how could she state he was guilty as she has not had any hands on experience in technology, and thus so how could any of them take her seriously as they could spin circles around her with knowledge and this is their home ground.
I just thought she was talking more like a magpie and the same can be said for Feinsten and it is sad that we have folks like this in Congress that seem to believe they are above educating and learning themselves.
