Ron Paul: "The Country Is Bankrupt... The People Are Being Bamboozled"

Tyler Durden's picture

"The American people are being bamboozled into believing that you have to keep spending for ever," Ron Paul exclaims, as "neither side is truly looking for spending cuts." As he explains they all know that increasing spending is all that can maintain the status quo. In this brief CNBC clip, Paul says playing the blame game is ignorant of the reality that both sides are "rigid with bad ideas," dismissing Obama's 'faction' comments. For a glimpse at the chaos underlying the status quo (that is being exposed this week), Paul blasts that "it is a philosophy of government that is to blame; Keynesianism, Militarism, and Interventionism, and the funny-money system that we use. All that has come together and the country is bankrupt and nobody wants to amid it."

"Why in the world can't the people have an option to opt-out?" is the middle ground possibility that Paul suggests...

"While more are waking up to it (especially in light of the non-essential services furloughs currently), there is still an appetite for big government - people are afraid to give up on it."

The Democrats are just as "rigid" as the Republicans.. "They are rigid with bad ideas too in that "deficits don't matter, the government has to spend, and the government has to take care of us, and you should print money when you need it."

Paul goes on to discuss Gold "all central banks work together - they collude"

... Moral convictions, "right or wrong", and "the only thing that really counts is what the American people believe the role of government should be... and if deficits don't matter, it will not be a shutdown of government but a breakdown of government that occurs"

Romney fan  RNC/Rove stole Iowa, Stole the 17 of twenty-four RNC delegates in Massachusetts.  Branded a terrorist in 2008 for supporting RP.  Wrote extensively about McCain being born in Panama and not being eligible.

MSM received 2billion in advertising from these inhuman anti free market war mongers.. Rumsfeld's ABB sold reactor in North Korea producing plutonium.

What is this talk on Obama care?  I was at the 2008 meetings... IT WAS AUDIT THE FED AND TARP REPRESSION....

I guess I am going to be subjected to (as constitution project) NSA war crimes on torture.

Hmm IS THIS MORAL HAZZARD? How long are our Chinese creditors going to put up with these thugs?          Time for some Spooner

"And the men who loan money to governments, so called, for the purpose
of enabling the latter to rob, enslave, and murder their people,
are among the greatest villains that the world has ever seen.
And they as much deserve to be hunted and killed
(if they cannot otherwise be got rid of)
as any slave traders, robbers, or pirates that ever lived."

It is clear from this shutdown that politicians in a democracy are willing to hold the future of the majority of the working class at stake to achieve their own objectives. If the population of a country thinks that political candidates who spend millions of dollars to get elected do so to serve their country and make policies and rules for the betterment of the majority of the citizens of the country, they need to wake up from their dreams and see the reality. Democracy worldwide is a failure and needs to be re-defined to ensure the periodical evaluation of elected leaders so that they perform their duties or can be removed by the people from their seats of power.

llusion of Democracy today.

People sponsored by the rich, make false promises to the masses to get elected. Distribute national wealth amongst themselves and their sponsors (Industrialists) and when that is not enough borrow money from rest of the world and continue the distribution process. The borrowed money has to be paid back by taxing the masses keeping in mind that tax rules are made such that the politicians and their sponsors pay minimum or no taxes. End of political tenure, rinse and repeat till the whole system breaks down and the world wealth is cornered by a minuscule of the population.

Dr. Paul tells it straight: '"the only thing that really counts is what the American people believe the role of government should be... and if deficits don't matter, it will not be a shutdown of government but a breakdown of government that occurs"

That breakdown is inevitable on the current path adopted by the consensus view in Congress and the country, particularly among those non-taxpayers and tax evaders who think they are exempt from the consequences of bad policy, and rising debt/deficits. That would be much of Congress, half of their constituents, and the biggest banks and corporations.  Plan accordingly.
PS: End the Fed

I think the FED has done nothing more over the past 100 years but to suck the gold from the masses to the hands of a select few. There is no other motive other than to do if for as long as possible and orchistrate an exit once as much gold can be obtained. It will only go on for as long as they are able to fool the masses. It apears that could still be a while. They will decide the operation is over and start a new chapter with the largest private gold hoard ever know to man they will preserve their time tested reality that he who owns the most gold makes the rules.

I don't trust Ron Paul. I'd rather have Lyndon LaRouche as POTUS.
