....................................bad day
John Boner.
FUCK YOU.
FUCK THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM. If I recall obamacare was going to ruin small businesses and create a society of part time workers. Therefore the Repukes were going to fight to the end. And then, they caved...
CC NSA
Until we get money out of politics, this shall continue. Forever.
Top contributors to so-called Tea Party guy Cruz. See any familiar banking names? http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/contrib.php?cycle=2012&cid=N00033085&newMem=Y&type=I
who gives a fuck everyone just got time off whith a pay check.
shut down the whole thing one week every quarter, save us producers some money for a god damn change.
I was looking forward to the FSA revolt when SNAP went dark for real.
Forward (over the cliff)!
Crapo?......
I was just listening to Levin on the radio on my way home. Says various Senators are hanging earmarks all over this "clean" bill. Including a whopper $2BN for... who else?... Harry's new best buddy, Mitch McConnell. Who, undoubtedly, will face a stiffer reelection campaign because of this.
The Republicans won more than you think in this deal, apparently- they're getting PAID. Dolla dolla bills y'all. A little "spreadin' around" money to help buy their way out of the hole they just dug for themselves.
It appears there are only 18 Republicans who are not Invertebrates.
I guarantee you they would have voted the other way if it had mattered to the outcome.
Exactly. McConnell coordinated so that there would be enough R votes for. THen lets those who need to vote no to maintain street cred back home do so. They weren't going to leave this up to chance!
It's all theater kids. Bread and Circus.
But if you're not at the table, you're on the menu.
It's all theater kids.
or Monty Python...

Some, sure. Perhaps even most.
I don't think Paul would have.
As far as Cornyn, the Senator from my own state, I can guarantee that you are correct. As far as I am concerned, I fired that guy when he voted for the bailouts.
Thank you..... same state; same reaction to this POS.
You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
Yes, and I just guessed right that the whole shut down/ceiling debate would end exactly as it did because I don't know what the fuck I am talking about. Go Team!
Their may have been 19, I read recently Jim Inhofe went in for quad-heart-bypass surgery, I am not sure he is back to his duties and "present"...
Their may have been 19, I read recently Jim Inhofe went in for quad-heart-bypass surgery, I am not sure he is back to his duties and "present"...
You mean 2 in the Senate. Lee and Paul.
And where, pray tell, is this land where there is no money in politics?
With a nod to von Clausewitz, politics is war by other means.
So called Tea Party guy Rand Paul received most of his contributions from secret sources that contributed to a Super Pac funded by oligarchs. If TPTB have convinced you that is a necessary part of the equation and that endless supplies of secret money from a few very wealthy individuals can and should affect every election until the end of time, then I agree we're doomed forever.
Well, if you use words like secret and oligarch, it must be true! No way your personal biases could temper your phrasing so as to frame the issue towards your desired outcome.
My phrasing is accurate. It speaks volumes that you don't care to look or know and that you dismiss it. For fuck's sake, right in front of your eyes there is definitive proof that what these guys say is the opposite of what they do and you still don't give a shit and you still wave your Team flag.
The first step of fighting Team addiction is admitting you have a problem.
Go fuck yourself, you loser.
Go Team! Rah, rah, rah!
P.S. fuck you very much too asshat.
Whose dick is he suckin on at Woodforest Bank? There is some sneaky shit going on there. That shitty little bank has contributed directly and indirectly almost all of their total political graft to Ted Cruz. This red team Token won't even make it to the primaries before the skeletons come pouring out of his closet.
So Congress has formally morphed into the pseudo-legislature whose prime function is act as the mediator and facilitator of the banks rapine of the American Producing Class.
Each member-all Senatoras and congressman voting for such should receive a case of KY.
ALL bank stooges.
Punt much?
Raise it to 100 gazillion and Keynes the fuck outta things. I wanta .gov Porsche.
More like Senate kicks the can once again and then kicks it over to the House to kick as well...
It's all BULL BISCUITS.... Fuck them all.
"It's all BULL BISCUITS.... Fuck them all."
The exact verbiage, whispered under their breath to each other by "our" self righteous congressmen and congresswomen, as they leave the House after their vote, tonight.
Gosh, no fillibuster from any of the so-called "different" ones like Cruz or Rand? Who. Could. Have. Guessed. It.
Someone pulled out the photos of Cruz fucking his dog while dressed in a bunny outfit.
And he's just an actor who says what gets him elected and on T.V., but who takes money from the oligarchs like the rest of them.
F U...
Like delaying this 24 hours would matter?
Once the House caved, it was done.....
These 18 that voted NO I will still support, the rest can go to hell
They thank you for refusing to look behind the curtain and for continuing to beg for more ass fucking. I guess you enjoy it. Carry on.
Repeal the 17th Ammendment.
And the 16th!
Those two have destroyed our Constitution, our fiscal sanity, and our liberty!
Jeffersonian in Texas is trying to do that

What's the new debt limit?
You could stump any politician and ask them to explain the difference between debt and deficit!
apparently there isnt one.. that was one of the things the dems got in. They can vote to block the increase they dont need to vote to increase anymore.... and of course obozo can veto it.
What's the new debt limit?
There's no number in the bill... it's just a date. The ``debt limit`` is whatever the credit card has run to on February 7. Ain't that nice? Unlimited credit till X date... I wish I had a credit card like that.
Well they've been putting everything on the double secret credit card for a few months now, gotta show up big real soon and blow out any celing they would've created. Present CR guarantees at least ~$1.2T in debt/yr
E I E I O McConnel get wait for it.... $ 2 fucking BILLION FOR A MAKE WORK PROJECT IN KY.... PERFECT
.
It's as if the the current shutdown was modeled after the EBT snafu that occurred last Saturday - when the system came back online the FSA's credit limit was temporarily limitless. Due to timeline that's not possible. However, EBT Saturday could be viewed as a fractal of the current .gov shutdown/outcome. Coincidence? I don't know. When it comes to .gov, I stopped believing in coincidences several years ago.
would like a list of the 18 remaining patriots..... cant find it on google
Thanks for posting the list!
There needs to be a revolt against Boehner NOW before he can put the bill to a vote.
He isn't running for reelection. Taking his golden parachute and going home.
can someone remind me why we even bother setting the limit?
NO ONE SAW THIS COMING...
Seeing Boehner fail to even get a single vote on his jokebill yesterday was icing on the cake. Now let's wait to see this blamed on the evil media and ACORN and something something socialism. LOL.
The sky isn't, hasn't, and won't be falling.
The sky isn't, hasn't, and won't be falling.
You are in for a rude awakening. The social fabric of the USA is about to be torn to shreds.
By whom?
Something smells...like....sellout.
A compassionate God would smite DC 'bout now.
God is giving us exactly what we deserve.
Or the earth opens up underneath D.C. and swallows
Sorry but the 81-16 vopte was CLOTURE Vote to go on and vote for the bill. It closes the Debate and moves the bill to a vote.
Learn about what you are reporting on!
So, 81 Senators voted to suspend debate and allow a vote that a simple 51 vote majority can pass. Put a fork in it, it's done.
I posted this in the other thread - it is now being reported that the bill contains the McConnell "soft" debt ceiling provision. Meaning it increases automatically - the Congress can vote against, but the President can veto that - so in essence taking the debt ceiling off the table forever.
What's the "pro quo" for this "quid"? I'm guessing trillions in cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, through tinkering with eligibility and benefit formulas. That money will instead be funneled to insurance and medical industry companies via ACA subsiidies and tax credits. And we'll have corporate tax cuts. The same formula as the August, 2011 debt ceiling deal, the "Fiscal Cliff," and the "Sequester." Each time, trillions transferred from the lower and middle classes upward; ownership and rent seeking rewarded at the expense of work at a wage. The cycles keep getting tighter and shorter, with the next crisis coming sooner than the last one. This makes sense, as there's less and less meat to strip off the carcass of our economy and each redistribution of wealth upward weakens the economy still further, bringing the next manufactured fiscal crisis still closer. By the time people figure out that you can only get so many golden eggs by cutting open the goose and then it's over, rather than by waiting and getting one a day for an indefinite period of time; it's too late.
I think it is a good move:
1) Obamacare is going to implode.
2) They get to go to battle again...possibly with a few more people after the elections.
3) Obama will screw up something more to add to the list
Live to fight another day
My gut tells me Yellen is going to be holding a bag in the new year.
I'd prefer that she wear it.
Unfortunately I've heard that its a good idea to sacrifice principles and kick the can to win the next election for the last 30 years. No one ever takes a stand and elections don't matter
The only thing I'd disagree with you on is #1. Obamacare can't implode because there's no such thing. It's just the same old private health insurance there has always been. We'll shift dollars from Medicare and Medicaid to subsidize private insurance policies for those who can't afford those, but don't qualify for Medicaid. I.E., the Working Poor. That's the elephant in the room. The policies of the past 35 years have multiplied the ranks of the working poor, and now it's reaching critical mass where these people who have had their pensions turned into IRAs and stripped of value, their homes stripped of equity through boom and bust and using their equity in a vain attempt to maintain the middle class lifestyle their shrinking wages no longer afford. They can no longer afford to send their kids to even state colleges and the debt they've incurred can't be discharged. Now the largest transfer of wealth in human history, from the 20th Century /American Middle Class to the global elites, is showing up in the cash registers of the retail sector and the thing is making like the Hindenburg. So the whole idea of shifting more of the wealth from the middle class to the finance elite will indeed be a disaster, but Obamacare is just an example of that, not a primary driver of it.
#2 and #3? Oh,yeah. Without a doubt.
There' an Obamacare and it was always meant to implode; as Pelosi, Reid, and Obama have said this was a stepping stone to single payer. They even got the healthcare lobby to buy-in by letting them write the fantasy portions. The poison pill is the 11K pages of regulations and executive order free coverages meant to bankrupt or force out of healthcare the insurance companies leaving only single payer as an option. Then the real theft begins.
The Senate version has a $2B earmark for Kentucky-McConnell's state. As you probably know, he was the "lead" Republican negotiator with Harry Reid.
So, he gets $2B for his state, or, at current prices, about 100M pieces of silver for selling out the people who still work in this country.
Bastard.
Well, Judas only got a 20-stack.
Don't worry. Boehner and the House have a surprise up their butts and are going to spring it on the Dems any day now. Have some faith.
yeah, and santy claws and the toof ferry are going to meet up with the easter bunny and bring us all a faggot basket
What do you mean no tooth fairy, I yanked all my teeth to pay my Obamacare bill. :P
#41
Good old Republicans. Folding like a lawn chair, and at the worst possible moment. Obomba will use this like a club in the off-year elections (and who wouldn't), which I guess would matter to me if I still voted. Still it's sad to see such craven un-manly behavior from adults.
I guess the real tell about what to expect occurred when Boner cried after being elevated to Speaker. He had finally achieved the pinnacle of power he so lusted for. Now, he would swim naked through a sewer to keep it. Not an ounce of self-respect has that man. I actually pity him.
McConnell. You fat old translucent piece of shit one foot in the grave mutha fucker.
+1 for the use of "translucent".
Nice...
What was the point of making an issue out of this again? Have you guys met with your navigators?
Nothing but a giant circle jerked pork pull when you get right down to it. Yee of little fiath.
As an obscure old tv show character Angry Arnie used to say don't get angry, get even........
Obamacare is going to blow up anyways when people realize having $6000 - $12000 deductables is the equivalent of having no insurance and doctors won't see them anyways unless they pay the deductable cost upfront . Doesn't matter how 'affordable' the premium is. The FED is going to have monetize Obamacare next to keep it from imploding when they can't sign up enough live bodies to make it work.
There will never be another debt ceiling fight: Senate Debt Deal Weakens Congress on Debt Ceiling
http://www.breitbart.com/InstaBlog/2013/10/16/Senate-Debt-Deal-Includes-...
Mitch "The can-be-bought Owl" McConnel got 2 billion for a project in Lousiville, KY with an attached earmark. Bastard.
Remember how we used to complain about "pork barrel spending"?
Well, this is what you get when all the "carrots" are removed, when $17 trillion later there's no pork available.
If you could throw Cruz a $100 million project in his district, he'd probably cheer on Obamacare like he wrote it.
But there's nothing left to negotiate with now but the stick.
Negotiations then bcome like an MMA wrestling match, it's got to go on until someone "taps out".
Get used to it, or bring back the pork, since we already spent ourselfs into default, it's just a matter of when.
I half the dates they pick and the timing of it all is designed to intentionally keep the economy from overheating so that interest rates don't hasten the demise. Think of these negotiations like a "restrictor plate" on the economy or what we used to call a "throttle on the governer".
I hope you're joking. McConnell got $2 billion and Frank Lautenberg's wife (who is worth $36.5 million) got $174,000
Of course, knowing their (doomed to be scoffed at by the House) borrow-n-spend-more-now bill would be passed by a sufficient majority, the senate "leaders" allowed a few elephant sock puppets to act indignant and vote "no". Kabuki theatre at its finest!
That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with; a couple of those guys are the real deal.
Ted Cruz is the real deal all right. He looks like he spends a lot of time in bathroom stalls in a "wide stance"
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Was referring to the guys who voted against TARP... lot of the same names.
Goldman/JP Cornyn was one of them. Sits on Banking Committee to boot.
Everybody here shall raise middle finger to Boner, thank you for your show for american people.
So how much was the debt ceiling raised? I can't find it anywhere.
700 quintillion
With the automatic debt limit increase, this is WORSE than Obama's original call for a clean CR and Debt Limit increase. The Republicans call THIS negotiating?
I think this is great--let the slow, torturous collapse continue! It's really kind of funny to watch the morons I have to share this country with get their hopes up about a "recovery," only to see those hopes ultimately dashed. I bet we'll hit the $19 trillion mark by the end of 2014, and I'm totally psyched about the day we have to make our first $1 trillion interest payment. Default would have been ballsy and ultimately smart, but this is so much more entertaining...
WASHINGTON, DC – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) released the following statement regarding the bipartisan Senate agreement to reopen the federal government and avoid a national default:
“The House has fought with everything it has to convince the president of the United States to engage in bipartisan negotiations aimed at addressing our country's debt and providing fairness for the American people under ObamaCare. That fight will continue. But blocking the bipartisan agreement reached today by the members of the Senate will not be a tactic for us. In addition to the risk of default, doing so would open the door for the Democratic majority in Washington to raise taxes again on the American people and undo the spending caps in the 2011 Budget Control Act without replacing them with better spending cuts. With our nation's economy still struggling under years of the president's policies, raising taxes is not a viable option. Our drive to stop the train wreck that is the president's health care law will continue. We will rely on aggressive oversight that highlights the law's massive flaws and smart, targeted strikes that split the legislative coalition the president has relied upon to force his health care law on the American people.”

Mad-Libs.
All you do is fill in a few blanks. Boehner already said he isn't seeking reelection.
Does anyone remember the scene in Swordfish where Travolta shoots the senator through the heart for treason?
Just saying'...
In a river none the less
LoL Cornyn trying to get reelected.
Not so fast my friend.
