The United States Has More People In Jail Than High School Teachers And Engineers

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Michael Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

America has become a gigantic gulag over the past few decades and most of its citizens don’t know, or just don’t care. One of the primary causes of the over incarceration in the U.S. is the absurd, tragic failure that is the “war on drugs”, and indeed nearly half of the folks in prison are there for drug related offenses. Making matters worse is a rapidly growing private prison system, which adds a profit motive to the equation. Recently, I wrote an extensive rant against the private prison system and provided details on how it works in:  A Deep Look into the Shady World of the Private Prison Industry.

Now here are some of the sad facts. There are 1.57 million people in federal and state prison (does not even include county and local jail) according to the Department of Justice. That’s above the nation’s 1.53 million engineers and 1.05 million high school teachers.

More from the Huffington Post:

If sitting in a prison cell was a job, it would be one of the most common jobs in the United States. In 2012, there were some1,570,000 inmates in state and federal prisons in the U.S., according to data from the Justice Department.

By contrast, there were about 1,530,000 engineers in America last year, 815,000 construction workers, and 1 million high school teachers, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

There were also 750,000 car technicians.

Yep, you know it. USA! USA!

About 50% of all those prisoners are illegal aliens and first generation immigrants.  What a deal.  Every nation on earth gets to send us their felons to take care of.

His anus.

Always fun watching cons try to square the circle of complaining about non-enforcement AND the rising number of immigrants in prison at the same time.

I was a family care giver for 15 years. Wife needed lots of help, pain meds and etc. Towards the end she lost it, bipolar, and other demons. She lost it bad one day. She called the cops, made all sorts of accusations. No evidence. Cops arrest me. Popo has a rule, domestic violence call, someone has to go to jail period! 1 year restraining order. After dumping 10k on an attorney and just before trial, DA drops charges, I wouldn't sign a plea deal and a trial would show what happened, mental illness.  Went home, she had several strokes then in home hospice and passed away.  Went through a bankruptcy, lost our home, in home business and total destruction of the family.

I had a old lady neighbor. Her husband died many years ago. She was always with him; she was stuck in time, with her husband, who was dead in our time. But in our time she was rich, met her needs, so we left her alone.

We looked after her. She was a wonderful, joyful person. It was like 1956 every day for her. We took out her trash. When she needed to go to the store, we drove her to the store. We loved her like family.

Thats community.

Then a Md doctor from Santa Monica LA CA moved in next door to her. In a month he got this innocent woman to sign over her multimillion dollar properties to a trust, of which his wife was the trustee and put this nice old lady in a "state home for old people". Doctor robbed this nice lady.

In a few months we put this asshole and his wife in prison for felony robbery of this nice old lady. It took a year to spring her. With the help of a neighbor lawyer, we guarded her rights until her death. She willed her property to protect wild life, and thats where it went. We upheld the law.

What would you have done? This story was never news. We do good deeds and kindness all the time. Its not news, Government assholes don't want you to know, we don't need their parasitic intervention.

Stand up or eat shit.

Good story and kudus to you but you sound pissed that you didn't get noticed for your good deed. When I do something worthwhile I don't expect notoriety. The big bad government has never conspired against me for doing good.

I can see how you would think this, if you're a parasite who never did a kind act in your life. I killed 200,000 before I was 16. When someone like you tells me what I should think, I think I didn't kill enough people, and I think of ways to cull your branch entirely. I can do it. You should be less of a dick.

I killed 200k mosquitoes before I was 12 -  NOW, I'M BACKING SLOWLY TOWARDS THE DOOR WONDERING IF YOU MIGHT FINALLY LET GO BEFORE I GET OUT OF THE WAY. You are one fucked up _____. Kind acts are daily occurrence 'round here. That you make a big deal of it means you're bereft. Hope you don't have the guns as your avitar might emply. Kindness in quest of advertising isn't kindness at all.

What a stroke job. I can prove high school is a torture prison for children of the 80%. I'm an engineer and an inventor, and I got out of high school in 2 years (documented) by blackmailing the principal (witnesses), and I'm rich by my own honest work, so rethink your base assumptions, Michael. As far as I am concerned every 'school' is a crime scene so my "kobiyashi maru" solution should be repeated.

We got brains. We got talent you can't match anywhere, and your tests are lame. On the tests composed by narrow skulled vegans, I'm a genius. But I'm not a narrow skulled vegan. The only IQ test is the world in front of you. But we got organized old world criminals on top, right now. They have to go and soon will. Write that article, Michael.

The US is a mirror of the ancient Roman Empire but with modern technology. Ceasar, the Senate, Artisans, and slave labor a la the prison system.

Unicor needs compliant, non-violent offenders to work the prison jobs available and a pool of free labor for the federal prison industries.

More prisoners solves that problem.

Actually close the borders which would stop the bulk of drug shipments to the US - that is one of the primary reasons our borders are not closed. Too much money in the holes of our border.

While they haven't starting jailing engineers, they have made it very hard to find work as an engineer by outsourcing most engineering roles to Inchinia.

Maybe we should outsource the criminal roles instead?

Legalize drugs, tax them and use the money to treat drug addicts, not incarcerate them.

Prosecute financial crimes, clawback their ill gotten gains, and throw the fuckers in jail.  Us the clawbacks to nationalize the prison system.

Add these people to the unemployed, those on disability, those that are now living under bridges and in their cars - then ice that cake with nearly 50 million on food stamps.

And that must bring you close to 100 Million.
