Meet The Fortress Hotel That Separates The Davos Billionaires From The Peasants

Tyler Durden's picture

The theme of this year's Davos meeting where the world's wealthiest and most powerful people meet to enjoy each other's company, a fawning media, and of course the best food and entertainment that money can buy, is social stability, class hatred, and how to fix a world torn by a record wealth inequality.

An ambitious task to be sure, especially for the very people who have benefited the most from the record wealth transfer of the past 5 years. Still, while these true Robin Hoods of the modern gilded age are desperate for a few minutes of humanitarian TV exposure, or at least a soundbite or two, their advice to the peasants out there is quite clear: don't get too close.

And just to make sure the appropriate distance of at least a few hundred meters to every member of the great unwashed class they are "saving" is maintained, here is the hotel in which the bleeding heart Davos billionaires are staying: a $170 million fortress surrounded by barbed wire, security cameras, motion sensor and even its own helipad.

Oh, and for those dignitaries of the non-private sector staying here, guess who is picking up the bill dear taxpayers.

Who do they think they are, Bilderbergers?

If they can hire armed guards for a "gun free" hotel why shouldn't I be allowed to have a gun to protect my family?

If they are so worried about global warming why don't they teleconference?

Teleconference could be hacked.  I'm sure the NSA isn't invited. Anyway, any restrictions to counteract global warming do not apply to them.  They're special.  If they truly are discussing the great wealth disparity, it's only because they might be getting uneasy about the masses awakening and guillotines making a come back.  The internet is proving to be a tool for awakening and poking holes in the status quo.  If it wasn't that financial networks and corporations rely on the internet, I'm sure it would have been put to bed by now.

Ok so the ultra wealthy have a lot of money. They have the ability to afford much more thant he rest of us. They are treated like Royalty everywhere they go. They can afford the very best of everything. All of this has always been known. It sounds more like envy than anything else and how could it not be when the middle class if being eroded and the poor around the world are getting poorer.

I have no such envy for the ones that are self-made which in all likelihood is most of them over time. Time is the key word. The ones that are living off of some other poor schleps hard work like the Royal family and others of this particular class I have absolutley zero respect. A true leader does not galivant around the world claiming they are Royalty just because of some lineanage. I believe that you lead by example. I still believe that if you work hard and change the world in some way that benefits all you too can join these ranks (if you so wish).

Don't mistake disdain for envy.

Most of the disdain from me stems from most of this wealth being the product of being very close to or controlling (credit) money creation.

If I had the authority to create money out of nothing and lend it out at interest I could be a billionaire too. It ain't that tough.

Alas, guilty.

I wish I could make idiotic and risky huge investments with (not my) money so that I could skim profit up and down. When they fell through, I wish I had the government making sure that everyone else pitched in to make me whole again. I wish I could sell stuff that I never owned, never saw or touched, and don't even know exists for sure.

I also wish the government forced everyone who gets food stamps or a paycheque to go through my useless bloat of a corporation first. More skim.

I also wish that I could tell the government what kind of laws they need to pass, or get my lobbyists to write them. That'd be sweet. Especially if me and .gov could kind of trade our key employees back and forth over the years, like sister corporations. I wish I could show up to 'advise' or be politely requested for an audience when they're trying to figure out how to put together the latest market I broke.

I wish I could fuck up again and again and STILL get a line of media clones kissing my ass. I wish I could give shitwit answers ("That's why I'm richer than you") and still be the darling of MSM puppets everywhere. I wish I was next step after the printing press so I can buy MOAR real stuff cheap, before inflation doubles the price and I sell.

And I wish that I could commit any crimes I want with impunity. If it gets too public, it'd sure be nice knowing .gov had my back then too.

You don't envy them, but I do! Ah, to be a bankster, sigh! You're a better man than I am gunga din.

Oh, wait...you didn't mean envy their intelligence, charisma, talent, looks, authority, sexual prowess, or the ability to feel love, did you?

You really believe that any of those people are self made, or that we are envious  of their lifestyle? The vast majority of the people attending that conference have made their wealth by looting the wealth of the nation. Their contribution to society has been nil, and it is because of their greed that the world finds itself in the position that it is in. And to make matters worse these hypocrites pretend to meet to try and "solve" the very problems that they have created, when in actuality they are devising ways in which they can extract even more wealth from the world.

I don't begrudge a person who builds honest wealth. More power to them, but if they then want to use that wealth to extract more from the rest of us then I have a problem.

Nothing so expensive required. The words Fuel Air Explosive are the operative ones.

Absolutely devastating in confined spaces. Even better, the fuel can be anything which will mix well with air. That means methane, propane, flour dust, coal dust, ether etc. Industrial accidents involving what are effectively fuel/air explosives are absolutely deadly and they still happen regularly.

So all you would need to do is turn the gas taps on full in the facility kitchen, bar the exit points, and leave.

Alernatively... Improvised high explosives using fertiliser; Ammonium nitrate as the oxidiser and oil as the fuel mixed up in a big drum. The IRA almost got Mrs Thatcher with one of those.

All they have is money and nothing else. They're all human, that means they are all living organisms, and, one day, they will cease to exist.

Meanwhile, they can do what they want and have to do.

Funny story about that, I have a friend we think could have.  I and some buddies were big into motocross racing back then.  Early to mid 90's Wausau, WI held an outdoor supercross-style race.  I was dating my buddies sister who lived there so we had a place to crash and would make a big weekend out of it.  He was a stud and could basically pick a chick out of a crowd and have at it.  He met some girls and ended up banging a Marissa on the seat of a YZ250 leaned up against our enclosed trailer wall.  I remember they were too young to go to the bars, and her bio says she graduated in '93.  This would have been the summer of '92.

With ~40,000 people I'm sure there is more than one Marissa, but we joke that he could be living in a penthouse suite in a San Fran hotel right now.

"To individuals with various psychological deviations, the social structure  dominated by normal people and their conceptual world appears to be a "system of force and oppression". Psychopaths reach such a conclusion as a rule. If, at the same time, a good deal of injustice does in fact exist in a given society, pathological feelings of unfairness and suggestive statements emanating from deviants can resonate mong those who have been truly treated unfairly. Revolutionary doctrines may then be easliy propogated among both groups, although each group had completely different reason for favoring such ideas."

This is the country that made a pact with devil, it's completely evil and vile. It is only neutral for one reason: to allow all the looters throughout centuries save harbor and passage. Of course, this type of hospitality is not free.

Human: Meh. Maybe. Remains to be seen actually. Nor am I certain they even want to be counted as one of us.

Better: Absolutely better, if you actually ask them. Better in every way you could come up with and quite a few ways you would never even think of including they have better blood, superior genetics, stronger moral fiber and possess of a vastly superior intellect greater than every other human being on the planet and for that matter every other human being that ever existed and ever will exist in the entire history of homo sapiens at least until the sun burns itself to a radioactive cinder.

These guys. Egos like you cannot even begin to minimally comprehend ego.

"No video with supported format and MME found"

So we dont get to see this video . . .  but can say that the static picture here above is the Davos InterContinental,  looking like a well out of place gigantic futuristic  aluminum multi-level Airstream trailor parked in the edge of the woods, definitely  for the second tier and down. Cold and sterile looking, not unlike the people attracted to it , i wouldn't doubt. A huge blot on the landscape.

Anyone who's anyone stays at the Belvedere.

What is the source of this video please. : b2vod-vh akamaihd.net ?

I don't mind these "elites" being super wealthy. What I hate is them using their power against me and mine.

This is off topic, but has anyone noticed the molotov cocktails being used in Kiev just now are far more effective than I've seen before.

Oh, and for those dignitaries of the non-private sector staying here, guess who is picking up the bill dear taxpayers.

Is this a joke? We're paying the tab for the excesses of each and every one of those assholes staying there or doing whatever else they're doing.

The vast majority of us is supporting them every which way. Their wealth is a concept based on the labor, the innovation, the talents of the 99%.

In a sense they're just as parasitical and obsolete as the so called blue bloods were. If this hotel blew up overnight and sending all these "dignitaries" to the moon, who would miss them? They can be replaced quickly if absolutely necessary. In most cases, society can function better without them anyhow.

When they're dead, just don't expect me to avenge their death in the name of my country.

Who cares about these f*ckers. They are human vapors, that bleed and die like everyone else.  Yes they destabilized the world and are heading us to war...but I don't hear the revolution bells yet

Meantime.  Asia, the economic white knight that backstopped the IMF and ECB/Fed to keep the EUR/Bonds bid is so f*cked it's actually amusing. We got Thailand blowing up, Indonesia, Cambodia. Vietnam and Malaysia could all blow and of course the two darlings that will set off World War Three - Japan and China

You gotta laugh.
