If America Continues To Go Down This Path, This Is What Life Will Be Like...
Submitted by Michael Snyder of The American Dream blog,
Becoming more like Europe is not a good thing. But that is the path that we are currently on. For the most part, Europeans live in a socialist “Big Brother” system in which the government completely dominates your life from the cradle to the grave. Of course there are differences from country to country, but generally speaking the lives of most Europeans are very tightly regulated. You see, the truth is that high levels of individual liberty and freedom are considered to be “dangerous” by the European elite. They believe that if we are all allowed to just do whatever we want that it would result in utter chaos. They are convinced that life is better when those that are smarter (them) control the lives of everyone else.
In essence, Europe is like a giant religious cult in many ways (minus the religion). With each passing year, the number of rules and regulations governing the daily lives of Europeans steadily grows, as does the level of control. If you try to live outside of that control, you could very well find yourself in a direct confrontation with the authorities very rapidly.
Just consider what is happening in Germany. Authorities there have stated repeatedly that they do not believe in having any “parallel societies”, and therefore everyone must participate in the system that the government has established.
That includes all children. In Germany today, almost all forms of homeschooling are illegal. In fact, one judge shockingly ruled that one set of parents could not have custody of their children because they might move them to another country and homeschool them there…
A judge has issued a stunning verdict in a homeschooling case in Germany, ordering that the parents cannot have custody of their children because the family might move to another country and homeschool, posing a “concrete endangerment” to the children.
Dirk and Petra Wunderlich’s case made international headlines in August when 20 armed police arrived with a battering ram and forcibly took their four children from their home in Darmstadt, Germany, and enrolled them in public school.
As WND reported at the time, the children, ages 7 to 14, were taken into police custody. They were allowed to return home three weeks later when their father and mother, given no choice by the federal bureaucracy in Germany, agreed to allow their kids to attend public schools despite their objection to the social and religious instruction there.
Are you starting to see what I meant when I compared Europe to a cult?
In Europe, government is god, and everyone and everything belongs to the government.
Apparently, that even includes the life savings of their own citizens. The following is from a Reuters article that was just posted this week…
The savings of the European Union’s 500 million citizens could be used to fund long-term investments to boost the economy and help plug the gap left by banks since the financial crisis, an EU document says.
Did you catch that? The EU apparently believes that they could use the private savings of their own citizens “to fund long-term investments” any time that they want.
But what if you don’t want your life savings to be invested in that way?
Too bad for you.
In fact, according to that Reuters article the EU wants to find ways to “mobilize more personal pension savings” so that there will be a larger pool with which to potentially fund long-term projects…
The Commission will ask the bloc’s insurance watchdog in the second half of this year for advice on a possible draft law “to mobilize more personal pension savings for long-term financing”, the document said.
In Europe, they also tend to love any “Big Brother” technologies that will allow them to watch, track, monitor and record the activities of their citizens.
For example, it has been reported that in the UK there are 1.85 million video cameras watching the population, and London has been called “the most watched city in the world“.
The control freaks in the UK are so paranoid that it is even illegal to carry a knife in public, but despite all of their crazy laws the rate of violent crime in the UK is still far higher than it is in the United States.
Now, the UK has decided that all of the medical records for the entire population will be gathered into a single database. The following is from a recent TechDirt article…
The UK government is currently building a database called care.data that will contain all of England’s medical records. It’s being promoted as providing valuable information for healthcare management and medical researchers that will lead to improved treatment.
But this database will not be private. In fact, it is being reported that information from this database will be sold to drug companies and insurance companies…
Drug and insurance companies will from later this year be able to buy information on patients – including mental health conditions and diseases such as cancer, as well as smoking and drinking habits – once a single English database of medical data has been created.
Harvested from GP and hospital records, medical data covering the entire population will be uploaded to the repository controlled by a new arms-length NHS information centre, starting in March. Never before has the entire medical history of the nation been digitised and stored in one place.
How would you feel if that was being done to your private medical information?
Not that the U.S. is a bastion of freedom and liberty these days either.
For example, Infowars is reporting that the Department of Homeland Security plans to launch a “national license plate tracking system”…
The Department of Homeland Security is set to activate a national license plate tracking system that will be shared with law enforcement, allowing DHS officers to take photos of any license plate using their smartphone and upload it to a database which will include a “hot list” of “target vehicles”.
The details are included in a PDF attachment uploaded yesterday to the Federal Business Opportunities website under a solicitation entitled “National License Plate Recognition Database.”
The system will “track vehicle license plate numbers that pass through cameras or are voluntarily entered into the system from a variety of sources (access control systems, asset recovery specialists, etc.) and uploaded to share with law enforcement” in order to help locate “criminal aliens and absconders.”
And for many more ways that the U.S. is becoming a “Big Brother society”, please see my previous article entitled “32 Privacy Destroying Technologies That Are Systematically Transforming America Into A Giant Prison“.
Another way that America is becoming more like Europe is in the area of religious behavior.
At one time, Europe was a hotbed for religious faith. Of course those days are long gone. And the United States is now heading down the exact same path, although Europe is still way ahead of us. The following is from a Pew Research survey conducted a few years ago…
Half of Americans deem religion very important in their lives; fewer than a quarter in Spain (22%), Germany (21%), Britain (17%) and France (13%) share this view.
So why has religion become so unimportant?
Well, it is because that is what the government system tells them to believe from the time that they are little children.
As I mentioned earlier, the government dominates your life from the beginning to the end in Europe. This even includes decisions about ending your life.
In fact, in Belgium they actually want to extend the euthanasia law to children…
Making the argument that everybody has the right to die, Karine Lalieux, a Socialist member of the Belgian House, is pushing legislation that would extend the country’s 2002 euthanasia law to minors under 18.
“Our responsibility is to allow everybody to live, but also to die, in dignity,’’ said Lalieux.
And in the Netherlands they actually have mobile euthanasia teams that go door to door helping elderly people end their lives in the comfort of their own homes.
Europe is not a model for the rest of us to follow.
Instead, Europe should serve as a stark warning to the rest of the world about what can happen when you let the control freaks get too much control.

This author is either crazy or so influenced by the 1%ERS that he does not even know he is filling the role of their patsy quite nicely.
Thank you! There is hope, despite the utter horseshit that is this article and the idiotic posts above you.
This article only scratches the surface.
The EU is not like the soviet union - it's worse.
Don't know what to make of this. But if everything we've been witnessing in this Country's foreign policy and how wacked out and capable of anything "we" the United States Government is capable in doing as our next stunt to get the lemmings on board this one probably take the cake. How would you like to be the Navy "specialist" signing up for that tour of duty? Hazardous duty pay aside of course which I'm sure must be a generous package.
If this one is even true, one might speculate that if you were a Navy SEAL you would make this kind of information available to the taxpayers that pay your salary among other "really good reasons"...
Desperate times for psychopaths call for desperate "psychopathic measures" I guess.
His name was Marius.
"You fucked up. You trusted us."
I hate giraffes. Kill them all. Feed the poor.
At least, the European government(s) do not threaten me to throw a drone bomb on my head if I colour the wrong lines. :-)
Don't forget the upside to straight cucumbers too.
No drones AND faster peeling times.
Better food, better/longer vacations, free healthcare... ah Europe, who wants to be like them...
The US provides for their defense and security, so don't bitch if we peek under the covers from time to time.
Well I never been to europe, or studied their laws in depth, but even frustrations over playing a good match of RTS gaming on computer with people from the UK, I found out they have a "national firewall" to protect all citizens, even though it slows down the internet they use from other there. I mean really most routers, and Windows operating systems have their own firewalls. Is it really necessary to firewall the whole country? If that is the case I can only imagine other type of government programs they have. Europe is indeed a nanny state.
Contrary to the article, I don't see the US being all that much different. The amount of government the US has is actually quite large if you consider all government from federal, state, and local levels. US is not exceptional, or that much different to that of Western Europe. Their taxes are not that much higher, and the US faces higher taxes in the future to pay for even more government spending down the line. You could say the US was exceptional in economic terms in the 1700s, 1800s, or maybe early 1900s, but really the US doesn't really have much of structural advantage to that of europe. That's why the US isn't exceptional anymore.
In scandinivia, their have more productive economies, and even productive government. Norway for example has state run oil companies. Even though there may be bias interest on some level to make policy towards the state run oil companies monetarily. Norwegian government actually contributes to the living standards of it's citizens, instead of simply redistributing the wealth, and levying taxes. US however doesn't have a productive government. The best productive branch of government the US has is maybe the post office, and that's a monopoly. Norway is the like the Saudi Arabia of Europe. A land full of natural resources, more than what the population needs, thus can easily have large trade surpluses.
If the US had the same population density as Europe, the US population would be the order 1.5 billion people...
No doubt this has had an influence in where the limits of individual liberty should lie as peoples attitudes definately change when forced into closer quarters...
The article is dead on. It is not utter bullshit. The problem is the term "Europe". It should be replaced by the term "urban".
There is little difference between an urbanite in Europe and an urbanite in America.
Both are incapable of feeding themselves. Both have no desire to feed themselves. Both can't walk out their back door and shoot at a pest on their property. Both live under constant video surveillance. Both want someone else to protect them, educate them, feed them, heat them, cool them and water them.
The divide between humans packed into cities like so many helpless sardines and humans who have breathing space and are responsible for themselves is huge and it knows no boundaries.
The problem is, the urban lemmings outnumber the rural self reliant types - in every country.
The stupid fukn sheeple enabled thus to keep their gummint freebies by giving power to yhe arrogant narcissistic lying illegal alien kenyan sociopath and all its corrup ruling elite sttoges only interested in featherung their own beds and keeping in power. Sheeple r too stupid cuz they got their heads buried in the ground or deep up their azzes. Good luck with thst, Amerika. Wutta buncha saps.
Good point made on both sides, I guess.
What I really like is how many of you fucktards pick sides, as if either Europe or the US have everything completely right. I guess you're buying right into the game, just the way they want you to, as they ramp things up for WW III.
This is why....... ya know, nevermind. I was gonna go on a long tirade, but I just don't have it in me anymore. Just continue to rah-rah for your chosen teams instead of all banding together and demanding your freedom from the assholes that keep you elsaved, regardless of the country you come from.

How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky
There are 8 levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state.
The first is the most important.
1) Healthcare - Control healthcare and you control the people
2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun Control - Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare - Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income)
6) Education - Take control of what people read and listen to; take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion - Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools
8) Class Warfare - Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take from (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.
70% there...
You need to get your name on the CFR exemption list.
80%+ by year's end. The class warfare bit has already gone into violence stage in several cities, like Norfolk, VA where the military are based. Trained US Marines will be at a premium for recruiting into the armed mobs.
It's easier to make the new world order.
Living in Germany I have to say they do like their "Regeln". However, there's definitely an anarchistic counter culture (which ironically tends to conform to certain conventions) and the pendulum swings back and forth. The Pirate party is gaining power at the moment in Germany.
The UK is far more, liberal (in a classical sense, not the American sense).
In both cases, the people have good reason to distrust their government. In the UK it is built in to the DNA, in Germany I think another generation will do it. That I think is the main difference between Europeans and Americans politically...
Americans still fundamentally trust their government.
"In essence, Europe is like a giant religious cult in many ways..."
I know people who are quite adamant that socialism is a religion in itself.
It has armies of mindless True Believers who will believe anything, stacks of ludicrous dogma, a fake claim to equality and compassion and of course it's utterly corrupt etc etc.
Europe, along with most of the rest of the world is a collection of sad, defeated nations
Say what you want about America... it's not a sad, defeated nation, at least not yet... or if it is, it isn't aware of it, which is almost as good as not being one.
Many American believe in this "Law of Attraction" nonsense. You just have to visualize yourself as an exceptional person and it will happen because you will attract exceptional people around you. God, what have I attracted? I think I need a flu shot.
You seem to be awfully attracted to ZH for as much as you bitch about the place.

Never mind...
When it comes to some issues of big government the US is way out in front. On others, the EU is in front.
And it's not difficult to focus on specific incdents in one of them and claim it would never be allowed in the other. And vice-versa.
The only certainty is that both the US, EU - incl the UK - are all going down the flusher as fast as the ruling elites can crank the handle.
europeans will riot when push comes to shove. americans will check the tv schedule for american idol and weekend sports. as long as they are still on tv and the fridge is full nothing is wrong.
Revolutions aren't for real until mothers with children at home join the ranks in the street. That's when you know it's for real. Something tells me that there aren't many mothers joining the EU rioters in the street? I could be wrong.
They could flay children alive in the govenment schools, but parents would continue to send their children there anyway. They would, however, complain loudly on the interwebs. American parents are a bunch of feckless idiots.
No, but they are joining the armed mobs in our malls and shopping centers!

Very good article Tyler.
From what I can tell, Europe is going totally to hell because it has become one big entitlement state. And the US isn't far behind.
Debt = economic collapse and more statism.
Basically, the entire West is collapsing.
The question is what about the rest of the world.
Michael Snyder is a born-again Christian fundamentalist with a strong belief in a impending "end time".
To Snyder, the idea that we humans might alleviate the suffering of our fellows by instituting social programs takes away from GODS purpose of life on earth: SUFFERING/CARRYING THE CROSS of JESUS
So of course this nut job is against Europe or socialism. And of course his supporters like LOW TAXES.
Maybe Michael Snyder doesn't want to be a nut job slave who exists on a bankrupt government entitlement plantation where an evil dictator determines his every move?
It will only get worse, guaranteed. Americans wallow in TV and Internet filth. Everyone knows about and complains loudly about the dangerous, Marxist govlernment schools, yet 90% of parents continue to send their children there anyway. Our leaders are infamously corrupt, practically every last one of them. Our children -- our future leaders -- are undisciplined barbarians, and a large and growing proportion of them are downright savage. The flood of turd worlders, most of whom are firm communists, care nothing about the vision of the Founders, the Constitution, the Magna Carta, etc. Marxists/Jews are in control of the MSM, the big publishing houses, the biggest banks, and all chokepoints in the U.S. government.
So, exactly how would anything change for the better?
All they need to do is keep the "Freedom of Speech" and people will think their free even if they were implanted with a monitoring device...
This is the new America coming to the mall and shopping center nearest you and your family.....fashioned a la "Victoria's Secret Clockwork Orange".....of EU origins

WND EXCLUSIVE BLACK MOBS TERRORIZE VICTORIA'S SECRET SHOPPERS 'It wouldn't be Valentine's Day if someone didn't get shot'Published: 4 hours ago
COLIN FLAHERTY(Editor’s note: Colin Flaherty has done more reporting than any other journalist on what appears to be a nationwide trend of skyrocketing black-on-white crime, violence and abuse. WND features these reports to counterbalance the virtual blackout by the rest of the media due to their concerns that reporting such incidents would be inflammatory or even racist. WND considers it racist not to report racial abuse solely because of the skin color of the perpetrators or victims.) Videos linked or embedded may contain foul language and violence.
Some were surprised to hear about the black mob violence on Valentine’s Day at Victoria’s Secret in Norfolk, Va.
Not at the violence: The Galleria at Military Circle has been the site of dozens of episodes of racial lawlessness over the last two years, most of which has gone unreported in the local newspaper.
The surprise is that this mall is still open. Most of its major tenants are gone or leaving – Sears, J.C. Penney’s, the nearby DoubleTree also closed. The big draw there now is a movie theater with cheap tickets.
More than 25 percent of the space is vacant. DeadMalls.com says the mall is a “zombie” that is really dead but just acts alive.
The latest example of black mob violence at the mall came on Valentine’s Day. A large group of people fought in the Victoria’s Secret store. One guy pulled out a gun and shot someone in the leg.
In urban lingo, shooting someone in the leg is called “leg warming.” It is often a warning about cooperating with police or selling drugs in someone’s else’s territory or even refusing to give someone a pit bull puppy.
The victim’s aunt told a different story to WAVY- TV:
“They were just walking in the mall, and the guys came up to him and wanted to fight DaQuan and his friend,” Towanna Stovall said. “They said, ‘No we got our kids with us.’ They basically said, ‘We don’t care whether you got your kids with you or not, we are going to do this.’ They hit my goddaughter and punched her in the eye. They also jumped on DaQuan and his friend.”
On Twitter, several people said the fight started over a pair of panties. Whatever the reason, black mob violence is a regular feature of life at this mall – and others in the area.
In December, the Military Circle mall and some surrounding businesses closed early after hundreds of black people rampaged through the shopping center fighting, destroying property, creating mayhem.
“Something has to be done to stop the violence,” reported WTKR-TV news:
“Every weekend on Friday and Saturday nights a bunch of juveniles will just swarm the malls, no intentions other than being up to no good, shoplifting, running rampant, getting into fights and just generally driving out the other traffic that comes in the mall because they don’t want to be around that,” said one store manager who did not want to be identified.
Some of the violence was captured on video and posted to YouTube, but viewers need to sign in to verify the their age for viewing the violent content.
Said one shopper to WAVY-TV: “As an African-America, we can do better. … I am embarrassed that this happened.”
Black mobs routinely terrorize cities across the country, but the media and government are silent. Read the detailed account of rampant racial crime in “White Girl Bleed A Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore It.”
The Norfolk Virginian-Pilot refuses to report that violence at the mall is predominantly among black shoppers. This is the same paper that took almost three weeks last year to report that two of its own newsroom employees were surrounded and beaten by a mob of 50 black people, the same paper that received six awards from National Association of Black Journalists at its annual Salute to Excellence.
The editor said he had no evidence that violence was “racially motivated.” And anyone who suggests that a pattern of black mob violence presents evidence of some kind of racial motivation is not welcome on the pages of the Virginian-Pilot:
“I have seen more posts removed for this reason on this thread than any I remember,” said one reader, even before the Valentine’s Day shootout. “Apparently the Pilot has a problem with posters who tell things as they truly are. I use to drive a mini-bus for a retirement community and many of our residents were scared to death at the mention of going to Military Circle, and it wasn’t because of the prices.”
Others piled on:
The mall is also the scene of frequent violence and theft in the parking lot and nearby bus stops. Police report 800 calls for service to the mall last year.
At Google and Yelp, reviewers warned newcomers to the area to stay away because it is not safe.
“Ghetto really is the word,” said one reviewer at Google+. “The shops are either closed, dilapidated or designed for low income people. My best advice for shopping is to leave Norfolk.”
And the comments on Twitter were so explicit about identifying the race of the people involved at the mall, WAVY-TV said it could not even repeat most of them. This is about the closest you can get: “It wouldn’t be Vday if someone didn’t get shot in Military Circle Mall.”
Angelia Williams represents the area on the Norfolk City Council. She blames the mall landlord for the violence: The owners “don’t know the area and are just in it for the dollars and cents.”
Some tenants also say the mall needs to do more special events. The day after the shooting, however, the mall did sponsor a major promotion to celebrate Black History Month. Last year, a store sponsored a “boy band” called Mindless Behavior. The autograph signing attracted several hundred black people.
Other malls in the Norfolk area also have a problem with black mob violence. In nearby Newport News at the Patrick Henry Mall, five teens were arrested in a “huge mall brawl” 14 months ago – just one of several there.
One local mall that seems to have escaped some of the recent racial chaos is the MacArthur Mall in downtown Norfolk. In 2009, after a series of violence incidents with “unsupervised youth,” the mall banned anyone under the age of 18 from entering unless they were accompanied by someone 21 years or older.
Black mobs routinely terrorize cities across the country, but the media and government are silent. Read the detailed account of rampant racial crime in “White Girl Bleed A Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore It.”

We will see more of this as the long-term effects of unemployment on our culture becomes more apparent.
http://brucewilds.blogspot.com/2013/01/unemployment-and-its-effect-on-cu...
Wow... what a load of SHIT this article is. What's next? The KKK posting articles on ZH?
Just look to our Head of the Country's Leader of the Justice Department Eric Holder. On incident tells the entire story! Black young men began a sport of sneaking up to white people and knocking them out with a sucker punch, men and women! However, in Texas a white man snuck up to a black man and sucker punched him. Eric Holder immediately ask the Texas officials to treat that as a "Hate Crime" requiring far harsher sentences.
Europe may not be the model to follow but I do admire the fact they have a far more open culture then we have here in the states. The answer of big government and looking to government as the answer is their downfall. One place they have given people choice is by accepting euthanasia as a way for people to decide when it is time to end their own life.
With people living longer and technologies ability to extend a persons life well beyond where they feel it has any "real quality" the issue of euthanasia will not go away. A big problem with the Universal Health Care model in the United States is that we have a much more death-averse and drug-centric mentality than any other nation working such a system. More on why we should alow people a dignified death by taking a stronger look at euthanasia in the post below,
http://brucewilds.blogspot.com/2013/12/dignified-death-after-long-life.html
My brother lives in Brussels, and a friend of his who was depressed long term - or so he believed - was last July euthanised by the Belgian state. He was only 32.
All he had to do was tell his doctor three times, on seperate occasions, that he wanted to be killed. My sister went to see him, and begged him not to go ahead with it, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. The doctor then organised it, and he was killed by the state with a lethal injection.
Belgium is a big state country where it is impossible to get even the smallest thing done by the state in less than six months, but if you ask them to kill you, they will sort it in two weeks flat, no problem. It's no coincidence that this is happening in the capital of the fascistic European Union.
Any americans who think Barrycare is a good idea should realise that this is on its way to you NOW, and the Fed government will happily kill people.
