But hey, considering the fragile state of the zombie global economy, and the wretched drought in California, I took positive steps to improve my family's odds of surviving a little longer than the next guy when law and order breaks down. I made 13 quarts of pickled asparagus tonight. Might be the last California asparagus we ever see.

My latest theory after all I have seen and all the frustrations from both the economy and politics is that things will always more or less move forward. This does not mean that they will not take two steps forward and one step back or that the path will always be smooth and straight.
