The Eastern Ukrainians Are Revolting
It is hardly surprising, given the drastically divided nation, that when Vitali Klitschko's pro-European political party ventured to Kerch - a city of the eastern edge of Ukraine in the Crimea region - things did not go entirely according to plan... This is the region that Russia has stated it is willing to go to war over and is deep in the pro-Russia territory... headlines galore are coming out of Ukraine but all that matters now is the Russian response...
Especially after Tymoshenko's earlier comments:
- *TYMOSHENKO URGES PROTESTERS TO STAY IN INDEPENDENCE SQUARE
- *UKRAINIANS OBLIGED TO BRING YANUKOVYCH BACK TO KIEV: TYMOSHENKO
- *TYMOSHENKO: UKRAINE MAY BRING CHANGES IN OTHER EX-SOVIET STATES
- *TYMOSHENKO: UKRAINE WILL HELP OTHER COUNTRIES UNDER `DICTATORS'
A EuroMaidan meeting does not go quite as planned in the east/west of Ukraine...
As is clear from this map - the nation is desparately divided (Kerch is on the eastern corner of the Crimea peninsula at the bottom on the map)...
As Russia warned before...
"If Ukraine breaks apart, it will trigger a war,” the official said. “They will lose Crimea first [because] we will go in and protect [it], just as we did in Georgia.” In August 2008, Russian troops invaded Georgia after the Georgian military launched a surprise attack on the separatist region of South Ossetia in an effort to establish its dominance over the republic.
...
The brief conflict with Georgia pitted Russia indirectly against the US and Nato, which had earlier tried to put Georgia on a path to Nato membership. The Kremlin regards the Georgian conflict as the biggest stand-off between Russia and the west since the end of the Cold War and it has fed determination in Moscow to push back against what it believes to be western attempts to contain Russia.
...
The warning of a similar scenario comes because Ukraine’s civil conflict has fanned tension in Crimea. On the peninsula, located on the northern coast of the Black Sea where Russia’s Black Sea Fleet is stationed, ethnic Russians make up almost 60 per cent of the population, with Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars accounting for the rest.
...
Volodymyr Konstantinov, speaker of Crimea’s parliament, said on Thursday that the region might try to secede from Ukraine if the country split. “It is possible, if the country breaks apart,” he told the Russian news agency Interfax. “And everything is moving towards that.” Russian media also quoted him as saying Crimeans might turn to Russia for protection.
Some humor might help...
But it's pretty clear who they blame...

That was impressive V! Good on Ya.
We have one more waiting, I wish we were playing Russians!
Stack On
We are one very short step away from dictatorship if you look at the recent history of the the party in power using gestapo-like tactics to harass people with through the IRS, FBI, EPA, NSA, FCC and any other acronym that comes to mind. A president who bypasses Congress with executive orders like a King with a fiefdom and its subjects. And then on the other side are the Republican enablers like John McCain who wants to go into every turd world nation like Libya and Syria to impose US supremacy, Lindsay Graham 'I don't think bloggers should be protected or considered journalists', Mitch McConnel who doesn't believe we've been Taxed Enough Already and believes raising the debt ceiling every six months will save America from collapse, Mike Rogers and Peter King who believe the FISA courts are doing a great job approving every general warrant for Eric (Fast and Furious) Holder. This country and its people need to look inside our government for change instead of out into the Baltics and the Middle East. We have one very fucked up situation on our own hands. IMO
Preach it, brother.
I think Putin has shown a great deal of restraint. Imagine how we would react if Russia destabilized Mexico or Canada, and at the end of the day lined cruise missiles along the Canadian or Mexican border aimed at US cities. I wonder what the Russian people think Putin should do to protect Russia. Has anyones asked them?
I agree. Obama is like that skinny wus who wants to get in a fight and his buddies have to restrain him cause he wants to beat the shit out of a 250# gang banger. Think Syria. Obama thinks he is a hard-ass and since he can kill kids with impunity.
PS. I think I see a drone out my window.
Putin loves this and will add to Mother Russia trough Obama's ignorance.
Run that one by El Tuco, I think he is from Mexico.
I don't think you have to worry about Canada. Canada does have to worry about America.
But don't worry , We will send you all the Water you want.....remember Filter it first , it will be easy after all ,
Shit flows Down Hill.
You (Hold/Manipulate) too much control on Our economy to consider you a FREIND, and I don't Trust you.
The Shit you are in is your own making,........Let Your Balls Drop and Deal with with it.
Then please stop spooning us, other countries are starting to talk...

yeah vote for yourself and your absent neighbour
Like all "revolutions," ignore the fun and games now and watch for the hungriest, organizedest, fundedest, violentest group to win= Russia.
We'll all be standing on the sidelines waiting for Freedom to win the game while the Russians make the touchdown for the win.
