Meanwhile, On The Main Square In Sevastopol: Live Webcast

Tyler Durden's picture

... The Russians are staking out their claim, after those ships which we wrote about yesterday and docked overnight at the main Crimean port, have unloaded their cargo.

Then, there's this from the Guardian:

Sevastopol installs pro-Russian mayor as separatism fears grow

Moscow shows its influence in Crimean city amid fears the whole peninsula could seek deeper ties with Russia

Authorities in the southern Ukrainian city of Sevastopol have installed a pro-Russian mayor as fears grow that the Kremlin may be stoking separatist sentiment in the region.

Sevastopol's city council handed power to Aleksei Chaliy, a Russian citizen, during an extraordinary session on Monday evening while more than a thousand protesters gathered around city hall chanting "Russia, Russia, Russia," and "A Russian mayor for a Russian city."

Fears are spreading that separatists in Sevastopol, and the Crimean region of which it is a part, could use the power vacuum in Ukraine to seize greater autonomy and deepen ties with Russia.

It was not immediately clear whether local security forces would back Chaliy, but earlier in the day Sevastopol police chief Alexander Goncharov said that his officers would refuse to carry out "criminal orders" issued by Kiev.

At least four checkpoints manned by armed police were in place on major roads into the city to stop the arrival of extremists, according to local media reports.

Ukraine's interim president, Olexander Turchynov, warned on Tuesday that the country faced a "serious threat" from separatism.

And elsewhere, the following poster can be found:

Ukraine's far-right is gaining support and confidence through its role in the street protests, with the Svoboda party assuming a leading role in the movement and paramilitary groups leading the street fighting.

In December US senator John McCain travelled to Ukraine to offer his support to the opposition, appearing on stage with leaders of the three opposition parties leading the protests - including the far-right Svoboda party.

Svoboda is currently Ukraine's fourth biggest party and holds 36 seats in parliament. It is also part of the Alliance of European National Movements, along with the BNP and Hungary's Jobbik.

Grampa McCain is a doddering fool who stuck around too long. He doesn't know what the hell he is doing (like he ever did?). He and 99% of the other pols are a national embarrassment and should just go away...

The unreported news is that the far-right movement has shanghai'ed the movement and caused the Washington-backed plotters to immediately execute an about-face and recant in front of the crowd.

I am talking within minutes here...

Be careful what you wish for.  Our Leaders and the people who keep them in office are "off the reservation" and worst still will probably endorse a confrontation if that "leadership" manages to successfully create another catalyzing event here at home for making a war in that part of the World possible.

Let's hope the vast majority of the flag officers in the U.S. Armed Forces show their better judgement the way the Soviets did 23 years ago when they fell!

Hint: Outside of the JCS which we already know are bought and paid for, it's truly alarming how incompetent and gullible many of them below General and Admiral are.

The jews are frustrated because they can't eat ham.  It is easy to eat ham.  Go to a place where ham is cured and smoked and buy one for to eat.  It is ok for a jew and even a Muslim to eat ham, it is not going to kill them.

The great thing about these "revolutions" is that they provide entertainment for the masses of the west for years. The bad thing is that once the media loses interest you have to dig for information before the next "big" happening. You know, how in Libya the government barely controls anything and is forced to constantly fight to assert its authority. Or how in Egypt the people voted an islamist into power, then decided he wasn't the right guy after all and now have a military dictatorship. This Ukraine shizzle is just getting started, fo shizzle.

If they really were to "stake their claim", they'd secure a fuck of a lot more than Sevastopol.

For starters, they'd secure the whole peninsula and go from there.  After all, an "illegitimate government" is a Clear & Present danger to the Russian security interests, and must be dealt with swiftly and decisively.

But maybe that's exactly what the US/Fed wants:  a pretext for a regional war, and thus a pretext fro MOAR QE:  King Dollar, bitchez!

Oh - one more thing. Where the wall was originally is no longer suitable for a stable strucuture so we have to build it in a more place which has a more stable foundation. Unfortunately its a bit further inland than it used to be.

We thought you would not mind. If you have some issues with it, you can complain to our commander - he is in the lead tank with the really big gun...

Of course, this new government in Kiev has nothing to do with the law and holds power contrary to the Constitution.
Of course, these criminals in Kiev came to power not through democratic means.
But the EU and NATO allowed them to break the law and act contrary to the Constitution. You - stupid natives should know and understand the following: If the EU and NATO approve any violation of law and any offense, then this law violations and crimes was not! LOL

"Neither did the Russian Revolution from Nikolay's point of view".

You probably forgot exactly who made ??the Russian revolution. His name was Lenin.

Lenin was the personification and the brainchild of Western ideals of freedom and democracy. Lenin was a good student of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels - both of them Europeans.
Who helped Lenin to overthrow the king? It is Berlin, Zurich and London.
Lenin escaped from persecution of Tsarist police in the diplomatic car of the train to Berlin.

So, Why the West does not like Lenin, via whose hands, West made in the Russian bloody coup and killed the Russian Tsar, along with all his entire family?

And what is the difference between Yushchenko, Saakashvili, Tymoshenko and Lenin?

EU has vowed 20-30 billion Euros in free bailout to Ukraine. Have any of you been on the foreign media sites and newspapers, to see the average people's reaction to this news? Remember the EU and IMF are on a major austerity program all across Europe. Cutting health care, child care, pensions, demanding pay cuts, cutting jobs, reducing city services and dropping support for higher education. It is slash and burn across many EU states, and the unemployement is vast and growing.

Now, I spent a couple hours looking for public reactions, like comments sections in European newspapers, and TV interviews of people in the streets. It is ALL negative. The people of Europe, and I feel correct in saying this, are madder than hell over their leades saying thay have right now 20-30 billion Euros to give Ukraine. No, I have not seen any positive reactions from the UK, Spain, Greece, or others. The only positive slant for Ukraine hand outs comes from government officials.

Imagine the UK, Cameron just came out and said he has the check book open for Ukraine, at the same time he told UK citizens to cut back on food and fuel and learn to work for less.

Europe, the people, when they see huge amounts of their taxes head for Ukraine, the political fall out will not be good for those holding power. Especially Cameron in UK.

Not sure Johnny. In the UK case, it will have to be guilts issued and then bought by BoE, don't you think?  I heard no talk of where the money comes from, the various EU entities in Brussels will have to hash out who contributes what. I assume, like you, that fiat will be printed. If Urkaine doesn't get cash right now, no pensions or state salaries will be paid, the considerable army will go without pay and all state enterprises will be BK. Russia was funding Ukraine with free hand outs, those have been halted officially as of a couple days ago. Ukraininas in the west are going to wake up by next week when nobodies checks arrive. EU must give emergency money within days. EU really is a political arm of NATO, and NATO is the driving force behind the western support for this revolution. Read the more reliable press, Ukraine in fighting is already underway, the old government that was kicked out at the ballot box before this recent government, THEY are in fact trying to take back state power. Imagine, these people were so corrupt, they lost to this last government in a free fair and open election.

Some people think this story is over, the west has won Ukraine and NATO can move it's missiles and tanks east tomorrow. Not true, Ukraine is in total economic collaspe, without the Russian bailout money, and tax revenue from the now, self governing East and South.

I imagine Putin will continue to heavily fund the pro Russia East and South, all pensions and stste paychecks will be paid, and army in those districts will be paid, state enterprises will continue to operate, all on Russian bailout money. Putin will not give Kiev anything, the west must now fund them, 100%. For at least 1 decade at the least. Total cost, my guess 300-500 billion Euro.

Sevastopol must have a at least a few batteries of Iskander, S-400, TOR M2, Sunburn, and other less famous, but no less deadly Russian Missile systems. This is not Iraq, or the Taliban, armed with 1950's AK-47's and RPG's left over from the early cold war. Big difference between an Iskander and an arab with an AK.

Last modern weapons system an American or NATO forces ever saw was the long outdated Serbian AA missiles which downed the stealth plane. Before that Vietnam, the air war over the north, was the last modern AA missile the USA has seen in combat. I assure you, an S-300 or S-400 can shoot down planes, cruise missiles, smart bombs etc. And the TOR M2 with it's new missiles can protect the longer range mobil Iskander, Sunburn and S-400 batteries.

Ukraine's revolutionary government would be insane to attack it's east and south. Civil war would result. Obama, the neocon warmonger is about to get us all fucked up, but profits for militarty contractors will be huge. And that is all that counts, is it not. Jack, they aren't going hot over this.  Word is Putin has assured Zero that if he wants to pick a fight over Crimea, he'll get one.

I'd expect some fuckery of course - sanctions, maybe weapons to the new government and some bluster about territorial integrity, but clearly after Kosovo, these arguments wont impress.

I think they keep Ivan on his toes there though, and then up the pressure on Assad while Russia is occupied closer to home.  In fact, it's conceivable there's a Eastern Ukraine/Crimea for Syria "trade"

As I noted, my guess is we are days or a couple/few weeks at most away from secondary protests in the west. The US will of course not support these 'terrosits' and 'right wing extremists'...  they were good enough for round 1, but the plan was to exclude them after they served their purpose.  Now, although maybe only 10-15% of the protesters - all of the secondary protesters who will not want Ukraine being sold at discount prices to European oligarchs will be smeared as 'neo-nazi'.  The Russians can certainly meddle in the western portion...

So far, Putin has been quite restrained, and I'm pretty confident the US/NATO have no plans to get into it with Russia over Crimea.

And that's what the NATO contingent "hopes" will happen nervously wringing hands all the way.

I'm not certain of anything anymore Freddie but I do believe Russia has a bigger bag of tricks than anyone truly is aware of at the State Department, CIA and NSA.

Their weapons are better than good and can hold there own against the West's very well.  To add insult to injury the Russians are basking in the same type of glory for disgruntled American "agent collection" the same way the U.S. enjoyed it during the latter stages of the Cold War when the Soviet Union was falling apart. Actually I'll redouble that comment.  Americans are much easier to buy out not only because this Nation both individually and collectively is getting poorer, but "the mission" for any of the compartment(s) they work under has become total folly, a professional liability and a joke with every lie created, rule violated and war that has followed. No loyalty exists anymore and Russian intelligence is having a field day with that one.  If you think Ed Snowden is the only defector then think again.

Not fun when the shoe is on the other foot now is it!

Funny you mention that old chap.  Do you remember those scumbags like Aldrich Ames, Robert Hanssen, the Walkers, Pollard and a few others.  plus Valerie Palme and her dumbass husband Joe Wilson.

They were all cheap sellouts.  Ames and Palme/Wilson had cheezy Jaguars - weird that I remember that.  Ames had a 4 door and the Palme/Wilson scum had the sports car convertible Xk. My neighbor had an XK and the dealership never could get the front end fixed.  It shook above 55 mph.

Anyway, greedy beltway sellouts.  The middle class in Russia is growing while the middle class in the USA is imploding.  Eventually many of these USA bureaucrats know the gig is up soon.

What is amazing is these beltway govt worker sellouts were selling out when the USA economy was good and Russia/USSR was poor.

Oh and who hacked Nuland's phone call with the F the EU?

Hmmm....was it the Germans? Russians? Brits?  Ukrianians?  Or someone in the USA spy complex?  CIA? NSA? DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency)?

Hey Johnny - over Syria - do you think the Russian military told the Pentagon that they would also get a fight?  The reason I ask is Obama was ready to roll on a Friday until Gen. Martin Dempsey showed up on a Saturday morning at the White House to tell O to get real.

The public also lit up the phones in Congress over Syria with a big Nyet.

The Russians had at least 8 ships between the US Navy and Syria plus I am pretty sure a large Chinese missile cruiser was also lurking.

And that's a big huge piece of the puzzle.  I marched in that protest in Washington last September and you didn't even need to join it to know the House and Senate switches were lit up like a Xmas Tree.

Biggest group to say "Nyet"?

The ones in uniform.  My understanding is that CNN and FOX were besides themselves trying to spin against the damage control with the pictures of the sailors and marines "covering their faces" with the signs "Not going to fight another war for Al Qaeda"!  Truth be told it didn't start with the Syrian "ratcheting up".  Congress would have let the President authorize it.  The Jewish lobbies were arm twisting the Reps big time and they were on board with it.. So what was the magic button that got everyone to stand down?  It started when the head of the DoD Robert Gates and Secretary of State Clinton admitted that Al Qaeda was witnessed fighting alongside our boyz when Libya was being taken out and Syria was well underway. Make no mistake there is and has been for too long dissention in the ranks and the guys in uniform ain't ready to go toe to toe with the likes of Ivan chafing at the bit -especially now with what we just did in the Ukraine.

Imagine what a morale booster that must be to finally face the fact that the enemy allegedly "killing you" is the same one that is now "fighting alongside you", and best of all the people in the middle that you are wiping out for no good reason got that info down as well?  Our DIA guys knew it back in 2003 when they were invading Afghanistan.  They were flying batches of cargo planes full of mercs they knew were Al Qaeda from other parts of the ME into Afghanistan and taking them out when they were finished -flying them back to "wherever"...

If you've never read 9/11 The War on Truth it talked about it before anyone else would.  That came out in what???? 2004?...

I also think there must be a back channel between the US military and the Russians.  We never really fought and the Russians came to offer aid to the USS Liberty after Admiral McCain and LBJ sold them out and delayed and stopped any US Navy help. This is while American sailors were dying.

My guess is the Russian navy or other top brass told the U.S. top brass - this is a very bad idea to attack Syria.

Hey Jack - I have a theory that MIC aka defense contractors do not want any wars because it will show that much of the American stuff is old shit.    Pierre Sprey who worked on the F-16 and A-10 said the F-35 is total trash and he also said that steal is a "scam."  He said even old Brit WW2 long wave radar can see it and the Russian stuff is a million times better.  The whole stealth thing is based on a book by a Russian.

I would bet the Russians can shoot down any Tomahawks, drones, stealth planes and might have done it in Syria.

Egypt just placed an order for Russian weapons and Egypt is lost to the USA.  A bunch of allies are cutting back orders for the crap F-35.  I think the last thing MIC/Pentagon was is demonstration of how good Russian missiles are and how they can see any stealth.  This may lead to more cancellations of American weapons.

Coups like 1918 are only good for Russia, others cannot - right?

Russians do it to gain freedom, but others who do it are Nazi's?

Just get to the point - Russia is going to do what it wants. Period. The reason Russian-speaking Ukrainians are there is to justify Moscow's sending in the Army "to protect our citizens".

Except those "citizens" are not Russian citizens, they are Ukrainian citizens of Russian ethnicity.

Huh?

Crimea is an autonomous province which does not recognize the new NWO puppet regime in Kiev.  It is entitled to request Russian protection.

Russia can extend citizenship to the people of Crimea of Russian origin {or frankly otherwise} just as Israel grants citizenship to the far more tenuous "descendents" of the ancient Hebrews.

Your logic is internally inconsistent.  Ukraine has a right to be free and so forth [which they already were] but after this coup, the East doesn't recognize Kiev and may well want to split off.  But they don't have a right to self-determination or to decide who to ally with?

Will you say that the NATO has no right to invade Crimea or Eastern provinces which want to separate?

Russia has not touched West Ukraine since the USSR ended. Putin would never march into West Ukraine. Why? Because there is nothing there he wants. It would be nice for Russia if Ukraine stayed united and unconnected to NATO. But the West will want to join NATO, so Putin will seek to join the East and South/Crimea into the Russian Federation. The ball is in the USA court, if they confirm Ukraine doesn't join NATO, then Putin would probably leave well enough alone. Remember, NATO is moving east for 20 years, Russia has done nothing but retreat, those days are over, right now! Or is it your opnion that Russia should make this retreat as well? Many in USA think he should accept defeat and surrender. History shows this not to be in the nature of Russia, even if they lose Moscow, they tend to come back in force and retake what is lost. Poles and French both captured Moscow after winning great military battles west of Moscow, then Russia regrouped and threw them out. Same would have happened if Germany had taken Moscow in winter 1941. History offers lessons and examples.

Those nations are occupied by the USA and were invaded by gunpoint as the winners of war get to do at will. So yes, those filghts are signs of former invasion and current occupation.

Just cut out the dissemblement from the Russian-paid comments from Moscow and get to the point:

Russia wants Crimea as a permanent base and harbour for armed forces and navy, and it will use any excuse to keep Ukraine whole because that's what it wants.

It doesn't matter that the Western half of the country wants something else - Russia gets what Russia wants.

Of course it's not foreign interference when RUSSIA does it, but it is when the EU does it.

More lies from the Russians. Just declare that Ukraine is yours and you are going to say any lie to kill those seeking independence.

I expect nonsense and lies from the Russians, and Russian paid commenters here, and many people in Ukraine to die, Ukraine to be kept whole, by force from Russian troops, and a new puppet government installed in Kiev.

Meanwhile the Europeans will sit and watch and do what they do best:

Nothing.

Russians are willing to risk armed conflict to get what they want, so why does Europe not step it up?

Bunch of aristocratic-wannabe cowards who over-intellectualise any excuse to do nothing.

What, exactly, does Europe have to offer Ukraine? Europe's behaviour here indicates European Values consist of cowardice, weakness, passivity, and an unwillingness to defend their own stated values.

not bad.

There are multiple power centers, multiple alliances, but it seems to me that the best way to head off world war three would be to limit the power of the private central banks issuing the public currency as a loan at interest to continue to do so, and to seize the assets of the European banking dynasties, and to nationalize weapons manufacturers over a certain size.

Multiple forces desire world war, including bankers, the MIC, messianic Zionism, Christian Zionism, and many Muslims.

But international banks are the sine qua non for true global war, and it is the United States and its Banker/MIC/Zionist occupied government that has basically been the tip of the spear for the bankers in trying to take over more and more nations' monetary systems.

I'm not sure if AZ has a recall ability for US Senators...or for that matter, any other state.

With his new flunky Chris Dodd wannabe Senator (haha) Chris Murphy D (douche) - CT.  Special place in hell for these phony bastards.  These fuckers should be at home representing the fools that elected them instead of running globalist agendas.  By the way, two years ago Vermont caught a 100 year flood right up the ass.  Horrendous.  Where were all of Vermont Air Guards helicopters?  IRAQ!

"US Senator John McCain will travel to Ukraine over the weekend,"

As a result of the illegal actions of armed rebels, Ukraine was actually divided into two parts:

- the Constitutional Ukraine

and

- Unconstitutional Ukraine.
Need to call a spade a spade.
Thus, McCain goes to the criminals rebels. That is, McCain goes to the perpetrators of an armed coup and seized power in Ukraine, what was contrary to the Ukraine Constitution.

You all realise Russia has a huge naval base in Sevastopol? With thousands of personnel?

Nothing to see here, move along.

Really - sending ships to a port to take a country is like sending airplanes to land and take a country.

Ukraine leader warns of separatism threat amid fears over Crimea

Henry Meyer at businesweek thinks Putin is humiliated

A Humiliated Putin Plans His Next Move in Ukraine

while AEI's Leon Aron pipes in about his over-reach.

Of course there was the bellicose op-ed from the Zionist Polish sociologist in the Times today.

I know I'm not supposed to notice it, but the amount of Jewish names in the anti-Russia pieces I've been reading is more than a little crazy  [sorry, sorry - if they were half Italian I'd note it and it would be okay, but it's not my fault they're not! Sorry! But I have to wonder about this strange over-representation]

{ahem}

Which of Ukraine's oligarchs are pro-Russia?  I presume at least a few of them need to be pro-independence for the East/Crimea for that to work.

I'll say it again.  "Bat Shit" fucking crazy and so are the the politicians in D.C. who aid and abet it -for more money!

My only hope is that when they push it to the extremes I think they are going too, we give them the front row seat at the synagogue to that last service they deserve.

Wonder how expensive that last ticket will cost the elite tribe members?

Shalom!
