US Warns Russia Over "Provocative" Actions In Ukraine
As today's actions by Russia have raised concerns and stirred flight-to-safety flows in the markets, The White House has decided to add its $0.02 worth:
- *OBAMA AIDE EARNEST URGES 'OUTSIDE ACTORS' TO RESPECT UKRAINE TERRITORY
- *EARNEST SAYS RUSSIA SHOULD AVOID `PROVOCATIVE' ACTIONS
- *U.S. WARNS RUSSIA TO RESPECT UKRAINE SOVEREIGNTY
Or else...? On the bright side, he did not say anything about crossed lines of color.
The White House is urging "outside actors" to respect Ukraine's sovereignty, as neighboring Russia prepares for massive military exercises.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the U.S. is aware of Russia's plans to launch the military maneuvers. While Russian officials said the exercises were unrelated to the tensions in Ukraine, these exercise will take place near the shared border between the countries.
Without specifically mentioning Russia, Earnest also called on others in the region to end "provocative rhetoric and actions."
Russia has questioned the legitimacy of Ukraine's acting government, which took charge after pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych fled after signing an agreement aimed at ending his country's three-month political crisis.

The united states has killed well over a million people in the past decade, and along with the "only democracy in th eMiddle East" has made a custom of completely disregarding the sovereignty of other countries, UN resolutions, international law, treaty obligations, and the very idea of diplomacy. It has engaged in false flags, supported, armed and trained what are unequivocally terrorist groups, and treated the basic human rights, let alone Constitutional ones {in the US, anyway} with utter contempt.

Anyone who believes that the Crimea, where 77% speak Russian and just over 60% are ethnic Russian, is going to come under rule of the revolutionary government in Kiev is totally insane. We all know by now that Crimea was never a part of Ukraine, it was a free gift by a Soviet Ukrainian leader to his republic in the 1950's. That little slight of hand does not make Crimea Ukrainian. I would like to hear anyone's arguement for why Crimea must remain administered by Kiev. Putin and Russia know just what game is being played, NATO's naval base of Savastopol, NATO missile bases with in a few hundred miles of Moscow. Come on, who, other than neocon windbags, think Russia will not go to total war in order to defend itself in this case? Here, neocons and neoliberals, imagine this. Russia will deploy about 250,000 troops to secure the Crimea, if the west and revolutionary government in Kiev attempt to occupy Crimea.
The East and South, the coast all the way to Odessa are also considered by Russia to be as vital as the USA considers Canada. Should Putin annex Canada, would the USA declare war? Yes, of course they would. Some bigger mind than mine, please tell me why you think Russia should allow NATO to annex Crimea and the East and South of Ukraine, populated by majority Russian, or pro Russian people? Please, should Putin obey Obama. Or the USA, whose troops occupy half of the earth. Do you think Putin will not fight? Wake up and accept that the west has taken West Ukraine and be happy, you will never set foot on Crimea or East and South Ukraine, unless you are prepared to go to battle field nuclear weapons.

UKRAINE SOVEREIGNTY
It's fairly clear to see the IMF and EU want to break into Ukraine.
But Ukraine is already full of duel Russian citizenships and a large number of Ukrainian's that want to be considered Russian.
So I would say Putin holds the trump card here, we will just have to see how he plays his hand.
Something to consider: Belarus. Opposes the Putsch in Kiev. Has an integrated and very effective air defense system with Russia. Has over 1,000 tanks. Servicemembers are about half Russian in ethnicity. Belarussians hate Ukrainians, given what Ukrainians did to them in the past, especially Fascist Ukrainians who the EU/US used to take power by force in Kiev. And a solid marjority of Ukrainians do not support the neo-Nazis who are already trampling on peoples' rights.
Look at a map. Russia and Belarus could probably take over the parts of Ukraine worth having in the space of a week or two.
Nothing NATO or US can do about it.

Russia needs to do much more than just "question" the legitimacy of the new Ukrainian regime. It must reject it until the rule of law is restored: NO recognition under the present circumstances, and the safety, security and interests of its people in the Ukraine shall be fully assured -- with force, if need be.
Of course it didn't help that the (present/former) President lost his head, chickened out and flew the coup. The dumb cluck played right into the hand of the Coup d' Etat organizers (in DC) and players.
