Russia Today Responds To Wahl Public Departure: Just A "Self-Promotional Stunt"
Having expressed her perspective of Russia Today's "whitewashed" coverage of Putin's invasion of Russia, Liz Wahl resigned live on air yesterday. This came on the heels of her colleague Abby Martin's recent comments voicing here disagreements with Russian policies on the same state-funded network. Russia Today has responded... "When a journalist disagrees with the editorial position of his or her organization, the usual course of action is to address those grievances with the editor...But when someone makes a big public show of a personal decision, it is nothing more than a self-promotional stunt."

Ms. Wahl's resignation comes on the heels of her colleague Abby Martin's recent comments in which she voiced her disagreement with certain policies of the Russian government and asserted her editorial independence.

The difference is, Ms. Martin spoke in the context of her own talk show, to the viewers who have been tuning in for years to hear her opinions on current events – the opinions that most media did not care about until two days ago. For years, Ms. Martin has been speaking out against US military intervention, only to be ignored by the mainstream news outlets – but with that one comment, branded as an act of defiance, she became an overnight sensation. It is a tempting example to follow.
When a journalist disagrees with the editorial position of his or her organization, the usual course of action is to address those grievances with the editor, and, if they cannot be resolved, to quit like a professional. But when someone makes a big public show of a personal decision, it is nothing more than a self-promotional stunt.

Ethics and journalistic integrity in the MSM doesn't exist. I don't give a rats ass nor will I waste a minute on what the MSM (FOX, MSNBC, NBC, CNN, CBS, BBC, ITV, SKY, even PBS) has to say about any given subject as they all have a corporate/government agenda.

I stopped watching RT after they got rid of Lauren Lyster. Brains, Beauty, and the Truth all rolled into one package. I still like crosstalk when I happen to see it is on, but he seems to not be on as much either. The rest of their crap is a cesspool of socialist/communist propaganda, IMO. It is as impossible to watch without puking as CNN, FOX, MSNBC, ABC, CBS etc....
Well, for somebody who lived the first 13 years of life under the criminal regime of Ceausescu in Romania (approved by Russia), I can easily understand her stand. You cannot play objectivity and political correctness with a regime that is proud of the soviet inheritance - and you cannot say that CCCR was bad, but Russia is different. For the people living in neighbourhood of Russia it is said that the russian army comes, but forgets to leave and the russian state takes, but forgets to give back. The only language that is known to Russia is force.
US and the western countries may be bad themselves, but Russia is no good either and the US bad doesn't give the right to Russia to be bad too. From the chilling observations of the last 25 years, Russia openly supports illegal enclaves in a lot of nighbouring countries and they never give up without a fight territories that they conquered - no mather how wrong they are. So, Russia was a bad empire before CCCR, was a bad empire until 1990 and continues to be a very bad empire to our days.
And the main difference between Russia and the West is that while people live en-masse Russia for the West, there is no such movement back. Such large number of people may see something and bet with their lives on it, isn't it?
Why did you bother with this? There are better ways to inform the public.
