US Probes Terrorist Concerns Over 'Missing' Malaysian Airlines Jet
The dismal news overnight that a Malaysian Airlines jet, carrying over 200 passengers and crew, had "gone missing" appears to have become considerably more troublesome. News this morning of pools of oil off the Vietnam coast - suggestive of a crash - are dreadful but, as NBC News reports, perhaps more crucially, U.S. officials told NBC News on Saturday they are investigating terrorism concerns after two people listed as passengers on the missing Malaysia Airlines jet turned out not to be on the plane and had reported their passports stolen (while in Thailand).
The lastest on the "missing" plane (via The Telegraph),
Vietnam air force planes spot two oil slicks suspected to be from missing Malaysian Boeing 777 jet.
The fate of flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing remains unclear more than 12 hours after air traffic controllers lost touch with the plane.
However, Vietnamese authorities said they had spotted a 14-mile long oil slick 120 miles off the coast of Cape Ca Mau - the most southerly point of Vietnam's mainland.
A Vietnamese government statement said the slicks were spotted late on Saturday off the southern tip of Vietnam and were each between six and nine miles long.
But there are growing concerns that this was a terrorist attack... (via NBC News,)
Luigi Maraldi, 37, was the only Italian on a passenger manifest released by the airline after the jet disappeared over the South China Sea.
But his father, Walter Maraldi, told NBC News from Cesena, Italy: “Luigi called us early this morning to reassure us he was fine, but we didn’t know about the accident. Thank God he heard about it before us.”
Luigi Maraldi was on vacation in Thailand, the father said. He said that Luigi Maraldi’s passport was stolen one year ago.
The foreign ministry of Austria confirmed to NBC News that police had made contact with a citizen who was also on the passenger list, and who reported his passport stolen two years ago while traveling in Asia.
And Reuters confirms that both passports were stolen in Thailand (where there is considerable social unrest occurring currently),
"[The Austrian] embassy got the information that there was an Austrian on board. That was the passenger list from Malaysia Airlines. Our system came back with a note that this is a stolen passport," he said.
Police found the man at his home. The passport was stolen two years ago while he was travelling in Thailand, the spokesman said.
The foreign ministry in Rome said no Italian was on the plane either, despite the inclusion of Maraldi's name on the list.
Newspaper Corriere Della Sera reported that his passport was stolen in Thailand last August. The police could not confirm press reports that it had been registered as lost or stolen there, as they said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was responsible for thefts abroad.

Why do you assume the NSA was not among the likely suspects? Do you know who the NSA really works for?
dup
No, who does the NSA work for?
Too soon, too tacky, I know, but the headline sort of begs for this mild editing. Very Homeland security and all.
Edit: Can you hide a plane up there?
"US Probes Terrorist, Concerns Over 'Missing' Malaysian Airlines Jet"
US must have evidence that someone that understands what Liberty is, questions all they are told, and knows the Constitution and Declaration of Independence was on board.
Or put another way: "Did the CIA walk another guy with a load in his underwear around security because dual-citizen Chertoff has another scanner scam to force on the American people?!"
IMO it exploded. In the future all passengers should have their picture on file before boarding. The govt might have no idea who were the two people with the stolen passports.
Need I say more...

How was Luigi traveling without a stolen passport?
Maybe he never left Thailand.
He wasn't on the plane. Whoever stole his passport (or an associate) was on the plane. Most likely a suicide bomber based on information so far.
Luigi prolly went to the Italian consulate in Bangkok and got a replacement passport.
OT. I was in Bangkok once, hanging out with a cool German guy I met there. Went to German consulate so he could get something processed, don't remember what. Anyhoo, you shoulda seen the long line of German guys there with their Thai brides to be that I guess they were arranging to take back to Deutschland with them....
Well lets skip the foreplay and say the airliner entered Russian Airspace and was subsequently shot down by Migs..
Remember civilian radars don't normally display skin paint, they show the transponder response (on each sweep, and sweeps can be slow on long range radars). When the power to the transponder quits the transponder quits and the "ghosted" target is not updated on the scope.
Wreckage will blow with wind on the water, the fuel (jet A not oil) will drift witht the current. There will be wreckage, but, it might be harder to spot (not that hard and there will soon be sections identified).
The cabin pressure will have been stable for quite sometime, so, it probably wasn't a pressure fuse type device.
Not familiar with the routes in that area, but, it is not at all uncommon to not be in voice communication (on some routes) electronic datalink with ATC and SELCAL watch on UHF.
Can't talk about this crew, but, if my jet were going down my hands would be on the controls not the mic button till the yoke went through my chest.
Good post but it's even scarier than a bomb. Total loss of power. That seems impossible. I have this to say to my Euro relatives expecting me to visit. "I'm not going!"
but it's even scarier than a bomb. Total loss of power.
Not really. Most big jets have multiple "busses". Things like coffee pots and transponders are on the main AC busses. It is not uncommon at all for the main busses to trip off. Normally they are restored quickly by automatic systems or by the crew if they fail. Things like the #1 VHF are ver close to the battery (a switched battery or essential DC bus), things like flight data recorders will be at a highter bus (a transfer bus perhaps).
No, jets lose power on buses routinely, and the problems are normally easily resolved. Losing power does not concern me greatly. You do have to have an aerodynamic shape (all the major parts) and the ability to move the controls (cable, wire, hydraulic line, etc.) and hopefully, a little power.
Estrella, you sound knowledgable. OT question for you: I have read that the plane that was successfully landed on the Hudson actually had partial/limited power in both engines. Would ol' Sully have had any chance of successful landing with zero power?
Would ol' Sully have had any chance of successful landing with zero power?
Flight controls are the issue. Most older Boeings have some, very limited and I mean VERY limited cable capability (the MD-80s are still completely cable). Newer jets always use hydraulic flight controls which means there has to be a pump to get the hydrulic pressure up. The engine driven pumps are the most powerful, then the AC electric pumps (anemic by comparisson), and then (on some jets) a RAM air turbine.
Lose hydraulics, lose the jet. (Been there, done that, got that T-Shirt. Yellow Sea in my case.)
So to answer your question, the engines turning could have kept the engine driven pumps producing hydraulics for Capt. Scully.
This has nothing to do with the 777 that is missing. They would have had ample time to handle a simple hydraulic failure and/or get on the radio about it.
Estella,
Would like more details on your Yellow Sea "adventure."
Thanks,
K. Chris C.
K. Chris C.,
Everyone's got a story or two. Nothing special about mine.
This is the business of the US Federal government...how?
Oh, right, an earthquake in Outer Fuckistan might have been the work of trrists, so the meme keeps going. Whee! Isn't it great to be George Bush/George Soros/Brack Bounel/Lord Hyman Lee Roth, et cetera!
Their energy weapons technology was used, that's why it's their business.
"Never let a good crisis go to waste" (Churchill)
Smilin bob,
Actually that was Rahm. Anyways Smilin' Bob disappeared off Martinique in a...wait for it..."boating accident." I kid you not.
What business is it of ours? I asked myself the same question, here is what came to mind?
Let's get some voting going or alternative theories!
This is the business of the US Federal government...how?
Boeing is an American Corporation. When a Boeing jet falters ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD the NTSB sends their Air Crash Investigators to the site to determine the cause of the crash.
Finding the cause provides for improved safety for Boeing Aircraft on both Foreign and Domestic Flights. I am certain that the USA has Trade Agreements with any Nation that imports Boeing Aircraft which provides for this.
I understand your position that the USA sticks its nose into business which does not concern them. I am MORE THAN AGREEABLE with your position.
However this is a place as to where to make a good exception in my opinion.
Why was Luigi supposed to betraveling without a stolen passport?
The US...what the hell is that anyhow? People refer to that nebulous term as if they were referring to God. Must be some kind of unconscious psychological cluster of neural bundles that get stimulated when the mid hears such terms. Sort of like gorvernment. God government US mother F'n THEM. they are investigating it so set your neurons to rest.
Perhaps Luigi was issued a new Passport.
Stolen passport? Or sold to extend and enhance a visit to the worldwide ghetto?
Direct energy weapons - propaganda or reality?

This disaster could have been a callus demonstration of power among the oligarchs? If it is, disclosure is the best defense against such power. The bottom of the ocean is a great way to hide evidence. Don't be intimidated by filth.
Alright was the US Navy in the area conducting missile drills on drones again.
Stolen Passports with Chinese Visas? How does that happen?
Beeh to Beijing from USA and know what you are saying, very involved process, but maybe they had no intention of ever presenting their stolen passports to Chinese immigration.
Don't know about Malaysian Air but Air China checked my visa's thoroughly before I boarded the plane from LAX.
The airline gets fined and has to pay for the return trip if they let someone board without a passport or visa. So I'd imagine they do at least a cursory check.
Not sure what PRC customs does to people attempting to enter with forged visas. I'd imagine it can't be very pleasant.
"Stolen Passports with Chinese Visas? How does that happen?"
WB7,
How about those that apply Chinese visa on arrival at Beijing airport?
Where does it say one can get a landing visa in Beijing?
Good point. So the stolen passports didn't show up at Malaysian customs nor at the Chinese consulate wherever the visas were obtained. Will be interesting to see if this aspect to the story is followed up, especially if the cause of the crash was something else. Certainly a major security error was exposed.
Chinese visas don't look particularly difficult to forge -- particularly since they never went through customs with them, and only had to convince airline employees to let them on the plane.
Could have been a transit visa. You don't need to go through the whole Chinese visa pathway to get a transit visa. Also, If they were planning a one way trip, the visa could have been forged well enough to get through Malaysian security.
Ultimately, they got through on a stolen passport regardless, sounds like the check was not full of rigor.
They had tickets to Europe from Beijing so no Chinese visa was required. Probably a flaw in the security system. They bought the tickets together so they may have intended to live in Euro-weenie land. They may have had nothing to do with the crash. But they are still suspect.
No plane expert here, but the airliner was climbing through 35,000 ft when it disappeared. If something catastrophic happened to the tail, wouldn't that sever all electronics as well as tear the aircraft apart?
Maybe a tourist guy in a Harley T-Shirt will come on CNN to explain the two passports he found washed up in Rayong which match the mooslim bogeymen fingered for this crime.
Guess this means the PRC has finally sold its US bonds...
Keep selling!
Of course the U.S/people are crying terrorism. This clearly sounds like an act of terrorism because hey, nobody ever steals passports.
If this plane has crashed then yeah, great job by the terrorists to not take credit. Funny that all these evil alleged terrorists never seem to want to take credit for their actions from Sept 11 2001 on when I was pretty sure taking credit was one of the points of terrorism. Couldn't be that most of the alleged "terrorism" that goes on is complete BS. Nah.
Queue release of a "confession" video
But what if this was a failed attack? What if the point was to take over the flight and then, similar to 9/11, hit something important in Bangkok? Why take credit for a failure?
Al Qaeda doesn't generally take credit for their attacks. Neither did the Bali Bombing crew.
" I was pretty sure taking credit was one of the points of terrorism."
You shouldn't have been, since it's not. The point of terrorism is to change behavior of the target by instilling fear in them. You only get claims of responsibility when it's unclear what the desired change in behavior is.
And several small groups did in fact attempt to take responsiblity for 9/11 at the time, but none of them could credibly have pulled it off.
What's funny is if you report a credit card stolen, it can't be used again.
any high level officials were on board that plane ?
It could be an assasination
So one passport stolen in August, and reported stolen then, and another stolen and reported stole two years ago, and both were used successfully yesterday? Obviously, NSA needs more powers, money, secret court authorizations, computers, gateway access, de-encryption codes, people, and policemen, guns, tanks, missiles, bombs, mortar, poison, WMD and ....... ?OK, Now Sarc off!
If it was an act of terrorism, it was probably directed at the PRC, not the US. Everyone forgets they have a lot of Muslims pissed at them too.
are you jewish tulpa?
just askin?
google image israel white phosphorus you will see lots of muslim burnt babies you can get your rocks off without the nsa giving a shit.
Not sure what anything in your comment has to do with what I said, but OK.
Tony sees Jewish people everywhere. It's like a 6th sense.
I think maybe more likely against the Thai government (which also has problems with a muslim minority). There's a report the plane turned towards Thailand just before contact was lost. Also Thailand was only about an hour away over open ocean vs. several hours to China.
You're a one trick pony BL! Evil Muslims and "their" attacks using planes on 9/11. All that's been very much discredited but you continue to spit out government soundbytes. Give it a rest!
Who said anything about "evil" muslims? You're barking up the wrong tree.
There are violent people in every religion and nation.
But if you want to claim that the people who hijacked planes on 9/11 were not Mohammed Atta and his band of merry thugs, then you should probably present all of that 'discrediting' evidence, otherwise you just discredit yourself.
Yeah right,. Don't waste my time... anyone with an IQ over room temperature that studies all the information available as a jury would in a trial will know it was not 19 men with boxcutters that fooled the whole US military and defence systems and were responsible for 9/11. At best they were patsies set up for the purpose of making fools like you believe everything your government tells you. If you're too lazy and are missing logic and commonsense to find out for youself then don't ask me to do it for you.
So in other words, you have no evidence to present. Typical.
The reason I brought up TWA 800 is because that's an example where there is REAL evidence that the government story is false. There are dozens of witnesses on the ground, who from many different angles, saw one or two missiles impact the aircraft. There was also residue of high explosives found on wreckage fragments, and radar evidence that shows pieces of the aircraft being blown away at speeds that can't be accounted for by a fuel explosion, but that are consistent with the detonation of high explosives. There's also the problem that there is no ignition source in the center fuel tank of a 747 that could have detonated the fuel/air mixture in the way that was claimed.
The "Loose Change" folks have NOTHING of similar substance. I've watched that stuff and looked at the truther web sites, and all that's there is unfounded conjecture backed up by the claims of people who have a poor understanding of physics.
So your refusal to present real evidence to back up your theory is very telling - you can't because you don't have any.
Were I a little more suspicious, I'd wonder if people like you, PhilofOz, aren't actually government trolls who post nonsense like this to try to make people who question the official story look like lunatics, because you claim wild conspiracies where no evidence for them exists.
I once remember having a "discussion" with what I consider a troll about conspiracy theroists. I argued that of all those out there, I believed that at least 10% of them were valid. One was 9/11 and how building 7 came down that afternoon. Just using that alone, how impossible it can be that a 47 story building just dropped to the ground several hours after being hit by debris from the other collapses equal to about a little Cessna crashing into it and a few spot fires from that? If this was a stand alone event and nothing else happened that day, then people would have demanded a thorough enquiry. Look at what the 9/11 Commission had to say on building 7... Sweet F all! This half-wit claimed that all conspiracy theories were bullshit. I accept with little doubt at all 10%, and I'd have suspicions on maybe another 20%, he insists 0%. Who is in fantasy land?
People like you that are far more than likely the paid trolls (more likely Israeli than US government), pick on the most outrageous crap on 9/11 such as the hologram bullshit (introduced by other paid trolls to start with) as if reason to dismiss everything of suspicion on 9/11. You know better than over 2000 Architects and Engineers do you re Building 7? I call YOU out. LIAR!!!
Ohhh, name calling. That's helpful. Those weren't "spot fires" in WTC building 7. Major support beams were clearly deformed before the collapse.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2056088/Footage-kills-conspiracy...
Any more questions?
If someone within the US was orchestrating 9/11 in order to bring down building 7, then why not just have the patsies crash a plane into... building 7?
Or, if that proved too difficult, then why not just get another group of patsies to drive several truck bombs up next to it and take it out that way?
The building 7 stuff isn't supported by evidence - there's no reason to suspect that demolition charges were planted in the building, but more importantly it's a dumb theory when you look at it logically, because there were much easier ways to take that building out and make it look like part of the overall attack if that's what someone wanted to do.
Clearly I haven't said that 0% of conspiracy theories are bogus. In fact, I've pointed out several times that TWA 800 is one instance where it's the government story that smells like BS and the "conspiracy" view is the one most backed up by objective evidence.
But the problem is that when you go off half-cocked like most of the 9/11 truthers do, jumping to conclusions that aren't supported by much, if any, evidence, and make no sense at all logically, it makes you look like you're intentionally trying to appear foolish.
I am teaching everyone I know how to construct this BOMB. It is directly due to STATISTS like you. This includes children.

YES NO
Not sure what you're referring to, but the wikipedia page was up almost instantly when first reports came through. I google searched MH370 and found various news feeds with stories, 20 or 30 mins old and a fully functional wiki page with links and all. Could be that wiki is that fast and the contributors are on it like stink on a monkey, but it sure seemed weird to find it and then see it. Reminded me of all the stuff I read about facebook pages and wiki pages related to Sandy Hook.
My tin foil conspiracy theory of the moment?
Someone was defecting to China a la Edward Snowden with a "stolen" passport.

Yeah. Then they definitely could have brought a BOMB ONBOARD. All MATERIALS FOR THIS BOMB WAS PURCHASED AFTER THE TSA SECURITY POINT and BEFORE BOARDING THE AIRPLANE.

when unfortunate jet crashed into ocean ..
What if the plane vanished into another dimension or was abducted by aliens? The slick could be from any tanker cleaning their tanks on the sea. Doesn't need much fluids to spread far and wide. No debris of any kind but just a slick surely is a mystery. Weather wasn't eventful or we would have heard about that by now.
If there has been contact with aliens, our government knows about it. They're keeping us in the dark and would rather invent a story with 2 passport holders who weren't on the plane and so on.
So much is going on, the Twilight Zone seems more real than Obama being a legitimate President.
Just sayin'
Those oil slicks certainly represent a good chance they came from the aircraft. Still surprising that zero debris was seen anywhere in the vicinity of the slicks. If the wreckage isn't found today (it's dawn over there), maybe this plane has been stolen. Obviously far-fetched, but since the plane was on course until communication stopped, the search area is at least somewhat contained.
We need a lot of dollars come home (flight to safety) to fill the hole left by Ben's tapering so our bubbles can grow even bigger and later these 'fat' dollars can be confisticated by tbtf banks.
If the plane exploded in mid-air there would be a lot of debris in the sea, I think more of suicide of one of the pilots similar to the AirAsia flight a couple of years ago, or a malfuntion / misreading of cockpitinstruments. ( Air France's doomed flight ).. Another remote possibility is a missile from a ship on a trainings mission which went wrong.
Missile would cause same effect as a bomb. Explosion in mid air and wide debris field. The time line is still confusing. At first it was reported they "lost" contact 2:40 minutes into the flight. Somewhere was reported they already lost communication about an hour after take off. Also, when the story first broke it was coordinated across every major news outlet within minutes apart. That last part is somewhat striking but not totally unusual.
At this point, my tinfoil hat seems super tight.
A micro-nuke like the one that was used in Bali probably wouldn't leave much identifiable debris.
I think the plane could well of been brought down by a bomb despite any apparent lack of debris.
It seems to have disappeared from radar rather suddenly. Someone mentioned earlier the aircraft
had been in an accident of some type which may have damaged it's airframe in some way, does
anyone have information on this particular planes history ?
Air india 182 disappeared from radar at around 31,000 ft. Seem to remember it taking awhile to locate debris afterwards.

Semiconductor firm’s top management onboard missing MAS flight
About 20 top management staff from semiconductor company Freescale Semiconductor were among 38 Malaysians onboard MAS flight MH370 which went missing over Vietnam-controlled airspace early today.
The team comprising senior managers and managers were on their way to China to undergo a month-long course in Beijing.
It is learnt that they were part of a group of 29, nine of whom were supposed to leave for China today.

Freescale are one of the worlds first and leading semiconductor manufacturers. Specialising in industrial semiconductors and controllers, including those with military applications. Not only do they provide hardware to companies like Raetheon amongst others, but also have a history of partnership as part of DARPA/defence funded research. Freescale were bought out (in 2006) by a consortium that includes the Carlyle group (Bush sr. et al) and Blackstone.
thought i say this even if no one see it....REST IN PEACE to all on the plane

Well to the very best of my knowledge that I have........ when an airplane crashes into the water it leaves a huge debris field....so something is NOT adding up here.....Why so long to get a Report, that just does not make any sense at all,.....False Flag but WHY?????
It's obvious the plane disappeared, maybe disintegrated completely or simply vanished.
Sometimes planes crash independent of terrorism. Actually, almost all plane crashs can be the result of pilot error, equipment failure, controller error or "bad weather." Bad weather includes clear air turbulence, a possible cause of this crash.
Weather can be excluded. Air traffic control would have heard from pilots before they get into weather bad enough to potentially bring the plane down. If weather was potentially so bad, we would have heard it mentioned by now.
That photo is of a trichodesmium bloom,
Very common around the world in tropical waters.
Not a kerosene spill.
Cool. I wasn't familiar with it but you would think experts at the media or whoever releases pics and stories can fact check their sources and data before putting a theory out.
Anyway, to me that notion is secondary. Bottom line is as of now, 2 days later there is not a single evidence of what might have happened to the plane. Vanished literally into "thin air" is all we have for now. Makes the Ukraine story lame by comparison. Heck, the world has gone so weird the two stories may even be related.
I continue to expect a debris field discovery, but if this begins to drag out all bets are off.
There was a odd incident in Iceland on march 6th, some people saw a light trail that looked like a jet had crashed into a mountain called Hlidarfjall in the north east.
Search and rescue went to the supposed crash site and searched the area but found nothing.
No little green men were found either ;) http://www.visir.is/bjorgunarsveitir-leitudu-i-hlidarfjalli-eftir-ad-tor...
There was a plane crash in that same mountain in august in a area called Glerardalur (it means Glass river valley)http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=0c6_1389025127
2 pilots and a medic were on board, the pilot and medic were killed but the co pilot suffered only minor injuries.
I saw this happen, i was at the roots of a mountain called Súlur (it means pillars) on the east side of Glerá river, so i saw the plane come down the valley, flying low over the river, take a sharp turn and then crash and explode.
It looked to me like a major mechanical problem or a really dangerous stunt.
Incredible luck that the co pilot escaped from this in one piece.
I wonder if the triple-seven in question had been upgraded with Boeing's patented(secretly) "Uninterruptible Autopilot System", which allows control of the aircraft from the ground. Probably.
