Red Line Crossing: Ukraine Effectively Gifts Crimea To Russia, Says "Will Not Intervene Militarily"
It May be time for Obama to explain to Putin the whole thing about "costs" and "red lines" one more time, maybe over a two hour phone call this time so the former KGB spy finally gets it, because while Russia has been seemingly confused for the past two weeks, Moscow just successfully annexed Crimea, without spilling a drop of blood. Which is what Ukraine essentially just confirmed after its acting president, who attained his position after a violent coup and remains unrecognized by Russia, told AFP in an exclusive interview saying Ukraine will not attempt a military move to prevent the southern Crimean peninsula's breakaway in order not to expose its eastern border.
"We cannot launch a military operation in Crimea, as we would expose the eastern border and Ukraine would not be protected," Turchynov said, as Crimea prepares to vote in a referendum Sunday on becoming part of Russia.
Crimea's upcoming referendum is a "sham" whose results will be fixed in Moscow, Turchynov told AFP.
"What they call the referendum will not happen in Crimea but in the offices of the Kremlin," Turchynov said ahead of Sunday's vote and hours after the pro-Russian authorities in Crimea voted for full independence from Ukraine.
So with Crimea down, as Putin prepares for his strategic endgoal - splitting the country in two and annexing the East in an identical fashion - the US strikes back:

- HOUSE VOTES 402-7 FOR NON-BINDING RESOLUTION ON UKRAINE

Russia is willing and able to fight to expand their national borders, Ukraine is not willing or able to defend their national integrity. Ukraine borders are not a vital interest to western nations. Passive response of Ukraine government reinforces Vlads belief that Ukraine is not a real country - Ukrainians are just Russians with a funny accent and a bad attitude and he continues to recover the Russian borderlands. Is Ukrainian independence worth WWIII to anybody?

NATO many years back at the height of it's power and glory declared war on Serbia in order to sperate Kosovo from Serbia and make it an independent state, with majority Muslim population. NATO air forces launched countless thousands of bombing raids on the Serbian Army in Kosovo and Serbia. Results amounted to a few hundred dead Serb Soldiers, and around a dozen armored vechicles destroyed. Serbs shot down a stealth fighter worth about a billion doallars with ancient old Soviet Missile system. Unable to defeat the Serb Army from the air, NATO switch to Serb civilian targets and enjoyed many spectacular victories. Commuter trains, hospitals,pedestrian bridges, apartment blocks, radio station, water treatment plants, NATO force Serbia into surrender. Kosovo was sperated from Serbia and handed over to Al-Qaeda, drug runners, sex slave trafficers and other pro western elements. Thousands of Serb civilians died.
At war's end, intelligence agents counted the Serb forces withdrawing back to Serbia and found all the NATO bombing had caused on a very minor loss rate. This due to Serbian forces using the Russian Army Handbook on evasion and concealment tactics.
So, now Russia is going to help a majority Russia district, Crimea, seperate from Ukraine. Well, bring on the NATO bombing raids! Russia is desperate for live fire exercises with the newly deployed S-400 and TOR M2 anti aircraft missiles systems. Rumor on the street is that these two systems are the best in the world at what they do. The earlier S-300 was so feared by the Israeli Air Force that they considered S-300 sales to Iran to be grounds for war against Iran. That sale was not made, and no war occured.

To take that a step further - The Pentagon backed off on Syria probably for a few reasons.
1. The Russians told the Pentagon they were not gonna back down. This message was probably sent to US military becaus ethe Russians know Obama and Kerry are idiots.
2. The Pentagon would have lost a few navy ships. Missile frigates. But maybe less #2 and more #3
3. They might not have shot at the ships but they would have shot down any Tomahawk, F-18 or drone. The Pentagon does not worry about soldiers or sailors being killed. They worry about US weapons systems being shown as junk.
Rolling and beating up on small countries is one thing. Taking on Russia is another matter. Back to the weapons sales. The US is losing export sales for jets and other weapons systems.
Brazil cancelled a fighter order due to spying. They ought the Swedish Gripen as did Switzerland.
Egypt is lost. The allies are really angry about that pile of shit F-35 and they may cancel all their orders. Canada was even thinking of bring back their own Avro fighter which would be better than the awful F-35. A Canadian pilot who ran their whole F-18 fleet in the Can Air Force said the F-35 is terrible. He said good luck if you are patrolling northern Canada and lose the single engine on the F-35. The $200 to 300 million pile of junk is lost. The Canadian pilot might also freeze to death waiting to be rescued.

I saw him in the bobsled. Didn't Russia win the gold medal in one of the bobsled events? I checked and Russia won gold in 2 man and 4 man. This is pretty impressive because the Europeans usually dominate and the technology of the sled is really important. The USA got bronze and BMW had helped design the sled.
