Ukraine Requests Weapons From US, Is Rejected (For Now)
Shortly after Ukraine found out that financial aid from the US will not be forthcoming (thanks to politicial gridlock); it appears they will be disappointed by the US once again:

It would appear that what is good for US-assisted Syrian Al-Qaeda rebels is not good enough for the vastly outmatched and outnumbered Ukrainians.
The UN Security Council does not sound hopeful:

These are the sorts of people that the US will be arming if it provides military aid. As a neutral on-looker, I'm finding it pretty hard to be outraged at Russia's actions. Seems to me that russian-speaking people in Ukraine have a legitimate fear of the West-supported government in Kyiv and a legitimate reason to call for protection.
The MSM keeps going on about "annexation" but this whole situation seems to rhyme remarkably with what happened in Georgia 2008 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Georgian_war ) which did not result in annexation.
