Ladies And Gentlemen: Presenting The Federal Open Meteorologist Committee

Tyler Durden's picture

One just can't make this up:

  • YELLEN SAYS WEATHER HAS WEAKENED ECONOMY IN FIRST QUARTER
  • YELLEN SAYS MOST ON FOMC SEE WEATHER WEAKNESS DISSIPATING

Luckily, the Fed is far better at forecasting the weather than it is at micromanaging central planning of a $17 trillion economy.

Heavy spraying over my location, starting Sunday morning. Still going on, as of Wednesday evening. Look for another blast of cold weather in the middle of the U.S., and more snow in the east. My particular global location is historically a 'turning point' of the jetstream, and high and low pressure regions normally duel for predominance. Not so much, since the spraying started. The jetstream is dramatically altered in course now, and has been seen dipping down below the Gulf, and even reversing it's course over the Conus, this winter. They like to drop nano-barium and nano-aluminium as low as 10,000 ft. AGL, and then use one of the multiple antenna arrays to focus their energies at them, causing them to heat up and rise in to the stratosphere and higher. The subsequent low pressure zones draw air in from whatever source available (in winter, that would be the arctic), and high winds going the wrong way (along with the NEW phenomenon known as 'polar vortex') is artificially created. In the meantime, the people get sprayed with nano-aluminium, which mimics iron when taken in to the bloodstream (and is absorbed through the lungs, and even the skin). Iron, of course is what carries oxygen to the brain, and a lack of a proper amount of oxygen to the brain (for example; the whole body suffers as well) leads to several issues, including attention span reductions (A.D.D.) and what they like to call 'alzheimer's disease'.

As an insider, Yellen should know at least SOME of this stuff, so she isn't entirely incorrect in stating that the so-called 'weather' we are having is hurting the economy. When PHD's have to work at McDonalds (and can't get your order straight), this should be a sign...

And now that it's Spring next up it will be pollen and allergies that will be responsible for putting a drag on the economy.

And when Summer rolls around Global Warming will have a huge negative effect on world economies.

And next fall look out for those hurricanes in the northern hemisphere.  Just one of them could wipe out a big percentage of GDP.

Fed Forecast:  The evening will yield to diminishing sunlight, raising a 60% possibility of darkness for the metro area.  Those of you out in our rural viewing areas should expect to see some darkness move in from the east at 18 to 20 mph.

Tomorrow's forecast looks for early periods of increasing sunlight, leading to an 80% chance of full sunlight by mid-day.

Precipitation is expected to be wet.

The near-shore marine forecast calls for ongoing water with periods of waves.  Boaters should remain alert for aqueous solutions in and around their craft.

That's your Fed Forecast.  Now let's send it over to Barry with Sports....

"they never really were interested in protecting the purchasing power of the dollar, but actually to destroy it."

Why would they care about purchasing when they can make up all the money they want?

Further, the real balance sheet, trade balance, is the only true measure, in which case devaluing the USD helps exports (or have you not realized that the entire world is in a race to the bottom in this regard?).

The notion that they're intent on total destruction is a bit silly since their positions of power require the very existence of the USD: and no, I do NOT believe that they really think there's going to be any global currency (and now it should be clear that the notion of a "reserve" currency is fading): the reason I don't believe can be clearly seen in the recent actions in the Ukraine (as if the already collapsing EU wasn't clear enough).

Weather, SHMETHER!

Yellin is ignoring the big pink Elephant in the room! DEMOGRAPHICS
A certain age group of Consumers on 3 continents has stopped buying 'stuff'.
People beyond age 50 don't buy bigger houses or new cars or whatever other stuff is available.

Why else are malls empty?

The effectiveness of monetary policy was last discredited in the 1970s. The persistent attempts to revive growth with easy money led to stagflation.

Who remembers the 1970's? It was a time of Stagflation.
The 'Bob Hope" generation entered their 'spend less-save more' life stage. OUR Parents!
It should be clear that the baby-boom is now in the same life-stage.

Yeah, it's usually people who can't convince their friends and or family that things ARE going to crash, that and or they are still trying to play the markets and are "losing" (poor sports).

I'm only here to get the point across to people that any "solution" they seek cannot be based on growth (perpetual growth on a finite planet isn't possible), that and to get a sense to know when it's time to face the "bright flash."

As I've been saying (and people don't want to talk about it), THE BIG LIE has been that of perpetuating economic systems that are predicated on the premise of perpetual growth on a finite planet.  If people can believe that then how can they be pissed at lesser lies?

The North Atlantic jet stream correlates with Solar output over a millennium

A new paper (Moffa-Sánchez et al) reports that they looked at layers of dead plankton in ocean mud (otherwise known as foraminifera in marine sediments) and have reconstructed the temperature and salinity of a couple of spots in the North Atlantic between 818AD – 1780 with data on ?18O and the Mg/Ca ratios. One immediate thought, an aside, is that if this technique works, there is no shortage of ocean mud, surely, and perhaps we could drill and analyze more mud for solar correlations in other places. (I hear foraminifera live in the Southern Hemisphere too). Perhaps no one is looking for the connection with the sun?

Moffa-Sánchez et al find the big climate shifts (the 100-year variations) correlate with total solar irradiance (TSI). See especially that orange line black line track in the d graph below. I stress, correlations don’t mean causation and the mechanism is mere speculation. But I find the graph intruiging. There are a lot of turning points, and in pure “curve fitting” type of analysis, this is a better curve fit than the one with CO2. (Find me a turning point that matches with carbon dioxide!) I suspect we’ll be referring back to this paper, and I hanker for more TSI comparisons with other sites and regions.
