The Dow Is Up - It Must Be A Tuesday
At the start of 2013, we went 20 weeks in a row without a drop in the Dow on a Tuesday. While that trend broke, the chart below shows that Tuesdays are still a banner day for the bulls (with only 4 down Tuesdays this year)... If it's Tuesday, it must be dead-cat bounce day...
Not wanting to shake the seasonal confidence but... Bonds and JPY carry are at the lows of the day...

This is really not such a new idea. In 1999 Larry Williams came out with a book called Long Term Secrets to Short Term Trading, and mentioned his Day-of-the-Week indicator on page 99. (I'm looking at the book now)
The drivers behind this phenomenon are not that mysterious either. There are certain DOTWs that have market moving news announcements. Now throw in the Fed's schedule, and you can see how you can derive a small but significant statistical advantage.
Because of its enormous popularity, Soylent Green is in short supply. Remember, Tuesday is Soylent Green Day.

I'm not sure why I even pay attention to this stuff anymore, it's all theatre at this point.
That would be nice to believe and many do, but even though I really was not heavily into the markets in 08, my business still took it up the ass (and still is), so maybe all of this is just a little more than "theater". Once you have been swept away by a tsunami wave, you never quite look at the water breaking on the shore line the same again.
