White House Admits CIA Director Brennan Was "Secretly" In Kiev
Late last night we asked if, as the Russian media had reported and only the Russian media, CIA director John Brennan had secretly visited Kiev over the weekend: "Brennan landed in Ukraine on Saturday under an assumed name and held a "series of secret meetings" with the country's "power bloc" Interfax reported, citing an unidentified official in the Ukrainian parliament. The person who said this to Interfax in a phone talk added that John Brennan came to Ukraine not under his real name. According to some yet unconfirmed information, the decision to suppress protesters in Slavyansk, a city in Ukraine's east, with force was advised to Ukraine's authorities by Brennan."
One can further admit the meeting was "secret" - if only in initial intent - not only because of Brennan's assumed fake name (why the secrecy?) but because until Russian Interfax- of all places - had reported about what is certainly a key meeting in a nation in which disinformation and counterpropganda is not only rife but the last thread the current Kiev regime is hanging by - Brennan's meeting was completely unmentioned by the US press.
Until today, when moments ago White House speaker Jay Carner confirmed that indeed the CIA director was in Kiev last weekend.
"We don't normally comment on the CIA director's travel but given the extraordinary circumstances in this case and the false claims being leveled by the Russians at the CIA we can confirm that the director was in Kiev as part of a trip to Europe," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters.
According to media reports, Russia has urged Washington to explain what Brennan was doing in Ukraine.
"Senior level visits of intelligence officials are a standard means of fostering mutually beneficial security cooperation including U.S.-Russian intelligence collaboration going back to the beginnings of the post-Cold War era," Carney said.
"U.S. and Russian intelligence officials have met over the years. To imply that U.S. officials meeting with their counterparts is anything other than in the same spirit is absurd," he said
You know what's absurd? Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. Or YouTube clips "proving" an Assad chemical weapons attack... which was organized and executed by NATO member Turkey with the blessing of rht US. Or the same CIA director showing up in a Kiev hotel under a fake name. Or for Interfax to have more credibility than US media outlets.
You know what isn't absurd? Speculation that just like the CIA organized the overthrow of the Yanukovich regime, which has been confirmed courtesy of the Russian secret services leaking Victoria Nuland's very inconveient recording, so the recent escalation in east Ukraine is indeed the work of the CIA.
You know what won't be abusrd? If and when the Russians release another recording, this time of Brennan, proving that all the latest "Russian" propaganda is once again in fact, fact.

“We’ve just had a consistent drumbeat going since the beginning of last year,” Erik Milito, API’s director of industry operations, told Bloomberg. “We just kept doing it, and this became a more heightened debate during the whole Ukraine situation.”
Milito said the message from API, whose members include the likes of Chevron and Exxon Mobil, was not lost upon Democrat and Republican members of Congress.
“It’s a common thing when there’s a crisis for companies to see opportunity, and they will use advocacy to pursue their interests,” said James Thurber, director of the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies at American University in Washington.
“This begs the obvious question: Is the United States purposefully provoking crises, like the one presently ripping Ukraine apart by the seams, in order to advance itself not only militarily in the region (after all, EU membership de facto implies NATO membership as well), but to quell the inordinate appetite of American corporations?"
Or, as Nevada’s U.S Senator John McCain put it in Kiev, I am here for your sovereign right:
“’Ukraine will make Europe better, and Europe will make Ukraine better,’ McCain told a confused crowd in Kiev. ‘We are here to support your just cause, the sovereign right of Ukraine to determine its own destiny freely and independently. And the destiny you seek lies in Europe.’”

well, it was after the fact and the story was out there anyways so maybe they felt the best play was to acknowledge and tag it as "standard operating procedure".
which is of course complete bullshit otherwise the visit probably would have been announced much like McCain's, or Kerry's or Biden's for that matter and I don't think he would have traveled under a fake name if this was indeed above board. as to the point and purpose of his visit one can only guess but it wouldn't surprise me if it had a lot to do with Kiev's announcement of a full on military crackdown in the east and the subsequent call for a joint military operation with the UN.
it makes sense considering that first Kiev can't launch a solo operation without incurring the wrath of Moscow and risking a full scale intervention. second I'm not sure how much of the Ukrainian military Kiev trusts to fight against it's own people so the need for foreign mercenaries is self evident, even better if those mercenaries come under the UN flag. that makes the whole sordid operation appear to have some international legitimacy even though we all now the UN "peacekeepers" would be nothing more than NATO gaining a foothold right on Russia's front door, which has been the goal right from the start.
and with the endless propaganda billing Russia as the aggressors and Putin as an aspiring Hitler I don't see the red army getting an invite to the UN peacekeeping party thus finally putting Russia into so tight a corner that they will have only two choices open to them, bow to NATO and the west or throw the first punch. Washington can finally have the war they have been so aggressively pursuing, all the better if they can claim the false "he hit me first" moral high ground.

NATO has already succeeded in getting a foothold on Russia's front door in the Ukraine. The only fight now is where exactly the border is drawn.

As a young Finn myself, I can agree that many people here see trough the smoke and mirrors, but unfortunately the current regime is full of US puppets. The biggest "party" now in most elections are the non-voters - people just struggle to find viable options but de honts elections system screws all smaller parties. Still we have 6-7 big parties with real support so I quess its not that bad as in USA. Finnish media has been quite pro USA and it reflects in the opinions of some of the finns, I hope people here would realize that we are de facto energy province of Russia and we need to maintain good relations with them.
