Cliven Bundy Responds To Racism Accusations

Tyler Durden's picture

In response to the verbal attacks pitched at him over thelast few days, Cliven Bundy has held a brief press conference to explain his perspective on 'slavery' and allegations of racism. Much as the world seems 'happy' to live a life of debt serfdom, Bundy notably remarked that he wonders if any of us are better off now "as slaves to charity and government subsided homes."

Jim Jones was a Democrat favorite.

Really, at the extreme, exampled core status/democrat values. Enslaved, false economied the products of urban education, made and thought of himself as god, that without him, his non racial ( thought I'd throw that in) that everone was better off dead.

Again, upto the murders at JONEStown, Jim Jones was a Democrat HERO. ( but definitely not a racist, so in the words of Carl Spackler, he had that going for him, which was nice)

IIRC in Machiavelli's "Il Principe" this already had been explained: a very effective way to break resistance of a group is to give the goup subsidies. That way the opposition is reduced and in the long and medium run they are made dependent on the subsidy.

This mechanism was practiced very effectively in the EUSSR to make the farmers shut up against the liberalisation and industrialization of the agrar markets and opening them to speculation like in USrael. Since the small european farmers feared the agrar industry from abroad, they were granted more direct subsidies (while prior the prices and the market was protected from dumping).

These subsidies are that high, that they even became supporters of the EU ("without the EU we would need to compete with GMO dirt and the huge farms in the USA"). Now they are totally dependent on the subsidies in the next years the EUSSR will establish a free trade agreement with USrael and liberalize the agrar market anyway, but with farmers more dependent on direct subsidies than ever before.

MSM plays the race card and the racist libtards, RINOs, and faint-of-heart "conservatives" eat it all up.  Bundy could have chosen better words and been more elegant in his rant, but he is a cattle rancher and I appreciate his no bull-shit approach.  Political correctness be damned.  MSM should be discussing the meaning of what he said, not how he said it.  Ignorant Americans are doomed.  I see no hope for them.

Funny how an anti-fed anit-gov protest turns into this.  MSM got its orders from above for sure.

I did not see the shotgun to his head when we got the first installment of "Deep Thoughts by Cliven Bundy."

Place blame where it belongs. On him. He is a big boy.  Let him figure out how he deals with this.

But to place the blame on the MSM for taping one of his sermons is idiotic.

Please nobody link his "actual, unedited speech" because I watched it.

The short version merely left out "The Mexicans."

So are to ask the average person who sees his words that we must meditate on what he said in a very deep way?

I am prejudiced, so what? Everyone is.

Doesn't mean I can't see a facepalm moment when I see one.

"Theyses all in jail causen they didn't teach'm to pick cotton."

Yet everyone runs around looking to find a way to support him and telling those of us who HAVE watched what he said, and the context, that we must not be getting it.

Sorry, not up to me if he is a hapless communicator.

If that is the most eloquent analogy you got, you might wanna run that by the steers one more time before unleasing it on TV.

Dude fuck this fuckin guy Bundy. He was the victim of a government overreach. His situation, while unfortunate for him, was serving a purpose that could have done a lot of good when it comes to shining the light on the power tactics of the feds. Then he comes out unsolicited with this fucking nonsense that has nothing to do with his situation and shits all over himself and a lot of people that were backing him up. Pontificating as to whether blacks were better off picking cotton or on a subsidy is something we can all do on our own time.

You know man, I wish he would have stuck to the circumstancs he was dealing with. If he had come out after making those remarks and not taken them back, but expressed regret for changing the subject and asked that people forget he said them, as they are not pertinent to his situation, I probably could have understood. But at this point he has pushed past that and I think he now is helping the people who were originally against him and making a lot of people who sympathized with him look bad.

And he did a great disservice to the cause of fighting government encroachment and unilaterally changing contracts by opening his "deep thoughts" lecture series.

Anyone who know me or any of what I have written here knows I am not a small minded individual.

If he wants to enlighten people, start a podcast or blog.

But if he wants to win over people to his cause of fighting the federal government you might not want to go about it like this.

O'bomb-a, Sharpton, Wright, Jackson, and so on are all overt racists (gawd, I hate that word), who make hateful, divisive statements as a matter of course. The difference is that the media is on their side, as the media is bought and paid for by statists. Anyone who isn't down with statism/fascism/whateveryouwannacallit is going to be villified by any possible means. I hate to admit it, but Bundy just fucked all of us, probably inadvertently, but that's what just happened here. Remember, the majority of Americans are fucking stupid, lazy, and incompetent. Need proof? Just look at who 'represent' us in DC.

The dumb motherfuckers in this country just want to be spoonfed, and Bundy just handed the MSM spoonhandlers two big jars of babyfood. The federal government is totally in the wrong, and always has been on just about every subject. But Bundy has paved the way for his own dehumanization, and by extension the dehumanization of everyone who isn't a worshipper at the altar of the State and Jackboot.

Bundy is a simple fellow and I think he has a flawed view of 19th Century slavery, but I certainly want to hear what he has to say about his own circumstances in the 21st Century. I'm all for discussing history, but our biggest problem as a nation is that we refuse to examine where we stand before the state and the corporation. Bundy is willing to take a stand and discuss these fundementals, so I want to hear what he has to say.

au contraire. I think his view is a lot more accurate than the general retard consensus. The whole "white men running round whipping black men" 24/7 is bull '12 years a slave' crap is a lie. Go read 'south side view of slavery' - http://www.authorama.com/full/pdf/A-Southside-View-of-Slavery--Nehemiah-... watch this episode of 'finding your roots' in which Wanda Sykes finds out her black ancesters owned slaves. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1gOtwe3THM

The best way to see it is a cross between military/ economic conscription and our benefits system (but with work). It's a lot wierder than that, but you have to actual read about it to get a grasp. Of course bad things happened, but bad things also happened everywhere. The only real guard is human decency.

I think if the north had not have interfered, then it would have pettered out by itself in a couple of more decades as owners would donate their land to the slaves in their wills, or would set them free.

Sadly true.

Not sure why you were down voted. This is not a value judgement but rather a simple observation of fact.

Clive is not a politician. He is not organized, polished or articulate. He knows what he thinks and believes but cannot properly explain it - it is not his forte'. He is probably honest but is not concerned with pomp, niceities or political correctness. This will be his undoing because the unfortunate truth is the people he needs on his side are at least in part concerned with these things and by being unconcerned he is distancing himself from them. Supporters will fade away, so will the story and Mr. Bundy will likely be arrested. This is my predicition - for lack of a crystal ball I could be wrong. We'll see.

I can tell you this - this has become a very public battle and the outcome will be determined largely by image. This is how these things are truly controlled - through public opinion. And that opinion is being shaped before our eyes simply by allowing Clive to lead and speak and be recorded. Have been following it on Drudge personally - if you watch the positngs you can see perfectly how the story has evolved and what the message truly is. One can only hope that in his short moment in the sun he did enough damage to Mr. Reid's et al reputation that he/they will have to retreat as well. Then everyone can go to their own corners for a much needed time out.

In short - be careful to whom you hitch your wagon. The perfect metaphor for this whole mess on both sides I think.

Interesting times eh?

Yeah, when I read the original lines he said I cringed.

I loosely followed the story.  Have been following the BLM stuff for a year or so as it pertains to mining (gold miner) and wanted him to succeed.  The Feds have been encroaching on use of public lands for a long time. Here in NC it is turtles on the OBX, or plover nests, etc.  I watch the people lose these fights because the government goes after a small enough subsample of the population to win. Mining example:  California dredging ban had a lot of fisherman supporting it due to it would benefit them. But what will happen is after the miners are gone the fisherman are next.  Divide and conquer.

I think here many people feel obliged to defend his comments simply because they came out and supported HIM originally, and not his argument.

So we get these entertaining flame wars.  :)

Pods,

I agree whole heartedly with your second last sentence.

The other thing I noticed too was that the coverage of his "explanation" is being fed through RT.

There is quite the flame war going on between the American oligarchy and RT - as it has been labeled Putin's propoganda machine. As I say to my kids - not all attention is good attention.

Now whether this is true or not is to be debated I guess (RT as Putins baby). Most media these days is controlled by someone with an agenda - I see know reason why RT should be any different. But you're bright enough you can see where I'm going with this. A picture is being built here - even if it at times it is subtle if you can look down the road a little you can kind of see where it might end up.

The government's ability to project power and escalate violence is almost limitless. Their only constraint is public perception.

The media propaganda machine was running nonstop during the month long Waco siege. The government didn't back down from an armed conflict then, even though there were ample opportunities for a peaceful resolution. Why would they now? Successful resistance sets a dangerous (to them) precedent. That can't be allowed.

I wish Bundy the best of luck, and I really hope you are right, and I'm wrong.

What's even funnier, right or wrong, is that if he owes the Feds $1MM, well, they paid almost that to have the cattle rounded up, plus the helos, the agents, the surveillance etc. etc., which I've read may be $2 - 3 MM more.

So to collect $1MM, the Feds will spend $4MM and quite possbly murder some peeps in the process.

First in fairness since NYT edited his words to do a hit piece where is the unedited version of this RT piece for full context purposes. Secondly in response to the grazing issue

And not undercut the original poster but of course his comment is so buried it is impossible to find in this thread right now.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-24/harry-reid-issues-statement-hat...

It is not about racisssm or the character of Mr Bundy period.

Their comment since it is worded very well.

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 states that the Federal Government CANNOT own land, except for post offices and such. The Supreme Court backed this up in the landmark case in 1844, Pollard v. Hagan where, when a territory becomes a state, ALL LAND becomes state land.

As soon as new states were formed out of the territory, "the power of the United States over these lands as property was to cease," wrote the court. Thus the provision requiring the people of Alabama to release all title to public lands to the United States, the court said "..would have been void and inoperative, because the United States have no constitutional capacity to exercise municipal jurisdiction, sovereignty, or eminent domain, within the limits of a state, or elsewhere, except in cases in which it is expressly granted..." by the Constitution, such as the District of Columbia, land purchased by the federal government from a state with its consent, and land of a territory before it is divided into states.

Of the latter, said the court, "as soon as these purposes could be accomplished, the power of the United States over these lands was to cease."

In Nevada, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo states that the Fed's will HONOR the sovereignty of the original 13 states and, as soon as possible, take the territory ceded by Mexico and form soverign states.

The United States government pledged that the territory given up by Mexico "shall be formed into free, sovereign, and independent states and incorporated into the Union of the United States as soon as possible, and the citizens thereof shall be accorded the enjoyment of all the rights, advantages and immunities as citizens of the original states."

You see, the Federal Government has been lying, cheating and stealing forever, breached the trust when Nevada became a state, broke the original contract know as the Constitution, and went against the Supreme Court.

So, fraud vitiates ALL CONTRACTS and renders them VOID from inception, and makes anything which follows null and void. There is no statute of limitations of fraud. The Feds have NO legitimate claim to any land in Nevada and have no authority to send snipers to collect on a bill which Cliven does NOT owe under contract, and has NO jurisdiction to rule in a Federal Court against a state citizen.

Come on now, the Federal Court decides that Bundy's cattle can be confiscated? Anyone else see a conflict of interest when a Federal court rules for the Feds in a case? That's like the fox guarding the hen house.

This whole thing stinks to high heaven, and Harry Reid is right in the middle of the dung pile, and were not talking about COW DUNG HERE.

And speaking of cow dung, desert tortoises, especially endangered ones feed on that shit it is like an all you can eat buffet for them in a food sparse environment.

Reason 1 for wanting Bundy out of there.

http://www.naturalnews.com/044670_BLM_lies_fracking_leases_Bundy_ranch.html

This document from the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology(1) shows significant exploratory drilling being conducted in precisely the same area where the Bundy family has been running cattle since the 1870's. The "Gold Butte" area is indicated on the lower right corner of the document (see below), and it clearly shows numerous exploratory drilling operations have been conducted there.

What's also clear is that oil has been found in nearby areas and possibly even within the Gold Butte area itself.

...

Here's the map showing the oil exploration conducted on the land where Bundy runs his cattle (all the red crosshairs are oil and gas exploration drilling operations):

(see website for map)

...

The Bureau of Land Management has just cashed in with $1.27 million in oil and gas leases in Nevada. This was just reported two weeks ago in ShaleReporter.com, which states:

U.S. Bureau of Land Management geologist Lorenzo Trimble tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal the Elko County oil and gas leases sold Tuesday for $1.27 million to six different companies. The auction took place in Reno. The leases are near where Houston-based Noble Energy Inc. wants to drill for oil and natural gas on 40,000 acres of public and private land near the town of Wells. The Review-Journal reports the project would be the first in Nevada to use hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, to extract oil and gas from shale deposits.

The way this works, of course, is that BLM runs land theft operations by claiming they are "managing" the land and thereby kicking everyone else off it. They then invoke a reptile, an owl, a bird, a snake or some other animal which they claim to be "saving," even while they are stealing and destroying hundreds of cattle belonging to a private rancher trying to make an honest living in a nation where productive Americans are increasingly branded "enemies of the state."

Once control of the land is established via court order or by bringing armed men with automatic weapons, BLM then turns around and leases the land to fracking companies who proceed to exploit the land using hydraulic fracturing techniques that inject toxic chemicals into groundwater supplies (and have been linked to earthquakes). The money collected by the BLM is then used to increase BLM salaries and bonuses.

In essence, the BLM is a criminal mafia racket, and Cliven Bundy just happened to be in the way of their next target, the Gold Butte area of Nevada. That is why they brought hundreds of heavily armed men to a "save the tortoise" operation.

...

And it is not just gas and oil interests that is reason #2

Fri, 04/25/2014 - 12:45 | 4695813 Dewey Cheatum Howe
Dewey Cheatum Howe's picture

Reason #2

http://www.infowars.com/breaking-sen-harry-reid-behind-blm-land-grab-of-...

The Bureau of Land Management, whose director was Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) former senior adviser, has purged documents from its web site stating that the agency wants Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s cattle off of the land his family has worked for over 140 years in order to make way for solar panel power stations.

...

Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.”

“Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle,” the document states.

...

Off-site mitigation “consists of compensating for resource impacts by replacing or providing substitute resources or habitat at a different location,” according to a BLM Frequently Asked Questions page on “Regional Mitigation Strategies and Landscape Assessment.” In other words, even if a solar farm is never built on the land Bundy has rights to, the BLM still wants him off of the land in order to use it as “compensation” for public land that will be used for solar farms in other areas.

Another BLM report entitled “Regional Mitigation Strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone” (BLM Technical Note 444) reveals that Bundy’s land in question is within the “Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone and surrounding area” which is part of a broad U.S. Department of Energy program for “Solar Energy Development in Six Southwestern States” on land “managed” by BLM.

“[Reid] and his oldest son, Rory, are both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert,” he wrote. “Reid has been one of the project’s most prominent advocates, helping recruit the company during a 2011 trip to China and applying his political muscle on behalf of the project in Nevada.”

“His son, a lawyer with a prominent Las Vegas firm that is representing ENN, helped it locate a 9,000-acre (3,600-hectare) desert site that it is buying well below appraised value from Clark County, where Rory Reid formerly chaired the county commission.”

...

“Reid is accused of using the new BLM chief as a puppet to control Nevada land (already over 84% of which is owned by the federal government) and pay back special interests,” she added. “BLM has proven that they’ve a situational concern for the desert tortoise as they’ve had no problem waiving their rules concerning wind or solar power development. Clearly these developments have vastly affected a tortoise habitat more than a century-old, quasi-homesteading grazing area.”

...

And as we can see the Federal Goverment doesn't legally own that land to begin with.....

Also as a reminder.

http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2014/04/09/nevadan-named-blm-chief/

A natural resource manager who grew up in Elko has been named director of the Bureau of Land Management.

The U.S. Senate voted 71-28 on Tuesday to confirm the appointment of Neil Kornze to the post.

Kornze was raised in Elko and is a former senior adviser to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. He joined the BLM in 2011 and has been leading the agency as principal deputy director for the past year.

The BLM oversees more than 245 million acres of public lands nationwide, including about 48 million acres inNevada.

Participation in being a vote slave does not have any race or gender requirments.  They are happy to have anyone trade their vote for a gov't check.

But it has everything to do with his situation; he's a dinosaur, his views are antiquated and absurd, and that subtracts weight from his arguments because it shows that the man making them as being out of touch with our current reality. You see where that goes right? That's politics, that's how we have come to understand people over the years, that's how all manner of campaigns, large and small are judged; the people fighting them, the arguments they make, their past, their potentials, intelligence, friends, opinions, ideals etc etc. This is not just an argument over a farm, it's about a way of life, and that ties into everything there is.

Also, banging on about his freedoms and then being so flippant and insulting about the freedoms(and dignity) of others, paints him as a self interested hypocrite. He would champion the freedom and dignity of his fucking cows before that of other humans.
