Cliven Bundy Responds To Racism Accusations
In response to the verbal attacks pitched at him over thelast few days, Cliven Bundy has held a brief press conference to explain his perspective on 'slavery' and allegations of racism. Much as the world seems 'happy' to live a life of debt serfdom, Bundy notably remarked that he wonders if any of us are better off now "as slaves to charity and government subsided homes."

While the whole racism thing is just character assasination, I do find one thing silly in all of this. The fact that the Merican flag is being so proudly flown through all of this shows there is a bit of a disconnect in Bundy's battle against the Federal Government while honoring the flag which represents it. I wish the anti-federalists would have won years back...

My guess is that he feels the need to speak out on all things gov fucked up now that he's in the midst of his "15 minutes of fame."
It's one of the problems that arises when one fails to differentiate between overwhelming local support in light of a "national problem." He likely feels proud that he's a local leader now, but this message will never play well outside of his own realm, as his complete message will never be delivered (especially if he has trouble articulating it without inappropriate sound bytes that can be taken out of context by the MSM).

Grazing cattle on federal land with a monthly charge of $1.50 per head for grazing rights, yep you read it right, $1.50 a month. What do you get for your buck and a half? For a start you get federally funded and pumped water for your cattle, you also get the federal government planting out more feed for your cattle, you get security because the federal government pays people to exterminate predators that prey on your livestock. On top of that you receive drought assistance and compensation if your livestock succumbs to drought, floods and acts of nature. You have next to free feed, a protective eye over your livestock and next to free maintenance of your feeding range.
Now you’d think that any sane person on so much welfare with profits guaranteed by the big bad federal government irrespective of good years or bad, would feel honor bound and grateful to pay a paltry $1.50 per month which beggars the question of just how many head of cattle Cliven graze on Federal land to run up a bill of over $1 million and just how much more welfare he feels he is entitled too. I really like a lot of what Zerohedge puts out. The economic insight and critique of the financial system is very interesting and unique. But I have to say unfortunately a lot of the political articles and conspiracy theory garbage you also post makes me somewhat conflicted about this site. The federal government is supposed to work for us. It's not a corporation for financial profit and do we ever know it doesn't save for a few. "Economics" was originally called "political economy" and was something that nations evolved, either knowingly or unknowingly, implementing one particular "philosophy" or another, as reflects their national leadership and governance and it's evolution. It is really hard to complain about politics and economics cuz they are joined at the hip. It is all about how the wealth and resources are allocated across their societies and how level the playing field is.
