Donetsk Riots Break Out In "Scenes Of Absolute Brutality"

Tyler Durden's picture

It seems the US and EU sanctions escalation has done nothing to calm the tensions between Ukrainians and pro-Russian forces in Donetsk, where according to report ultranationalists from Kiev are involved in a skirmish with local riot police. As the following clip suggests... "rocks and missiles are being thrown from both sides - there are injuries and scenes of absolute brutality as both sides clash."

Minutes before the violence erupted...

and then as violence erupted...

It got serious..

You honestly think that having some nuclear submarine sunked near American coast will bring down the dollar hegemony?

Are you that stupid?

You really think that if Russia uses nukes on USSA, Russia won't be made into a giant glass taiga?

What you don't seem to understand is that most people felt Nazis were on both sides of this conflict.  The Ukrainians are showing the world that their Nazis do not hold sway to the same extent as the Pro-Russian Nazis do.  Going forward, the Pro-Russians had better smarten up or they will end up looking like a bunch of knuckle draggers who couldn't negotiate their way out of a wet paper bag.

The Pro-Russian Nazis are giving a bad name to Nazis in general.

“The neo-Nazis have always been Russian....errr  I mean, We've always been at war with Eastasia....”

The mainstream U.S. news media is flooding the American people with one-sided propaganda on Ukraine, rewriting the narrative to leave out the key role of neo-Nazis and insisting on a “group think” that exceeds even the misguided consensus on Iraq’s WMD.

After the Feb. 22 coup in Ukraine – spearheaded by neo-Nazi militias – European and U.S. diplomats pushed for a quick formation of a new government out of fear that otherwise these far-right ultra-nationalists would be left in total control, one of those diplomats told me.

The comment again underscores the inconvenient truth of what happened in Ukraine: neo-Nazis were at the forefront of the Kiev coup that ousted elected President Viktor Yanukovych, a reality that the U.S. government and news media have been relentlessly trying to cover up....

More broadly, the U.S. news media’s hiding of Ukraine’s neo-Nazis has become a near obsession, indeed, done in greater uniformity across the mainstream press and even much of the blogosphere than the misguided consensus on Iraq’s WMD in 2002-03 that led to the disastrous Iraq War.

The big brains at the CFR and NED are looking at the Balken and Yugoslav wars as the template to conflate this freak show. Meanwhile the establishment organ-grinders at RT and the NYT beat the drum slowly.

To all the FSB-RT and Euro-Combine operators that love to troll, slag and project their cause on these pages, what is the point again?

To sell debt to finance strife and more surveillance?

Huddled over your keyboards so some unnameable oligarch can gold plate their toilet?

This ridiculous exercise is completely avoidable and the fact that it keeps escalating means both "sides" want it - meaning both sides are the same side.

Don't let "the Rich" divide "the Poor" using the age old excuses of ethnicity and religious intolerance.

You have to look at the machinations inside this country of 40 million as the same template used in Cypress to confiscate wealth the prior year. Success means it will be done again - maybe on your doorstep next time.

Good luck to everybody.

VIEW from Ukraine

Mayor of Kharkov Kernes was shot by his own people

April 28, 2014, the Empire

According to a portal "Empire" source, based on information received from Ukraine law enforcement agencies and intelligence analysis of events following before and after the assassination attempt on Kernes,  this attempt had several objectives.

First, under a pretext of the assassination attempt on the mayor of Kharkov, the Kiev Junta intends to introduce its more strict control in Kharkov region without officially declaring a state of emergency. Lately, the Kiev Junta started to lose control in Kharkov region. Therefore, in order to stabilize the situation in Kiev Junta interests, it was necessary to find a solution using a special situation. Kharkov mayor Kernes was selected as a victim due to his conflict with some senior officials in Kiev. He was not killed but simply taken out of the big game. At the same time, pro-Russian supporters of Ukraine federalization will be accused of the attempted murder as an example of their terrorist activities.

Secondary, the removal of Kharkov mayor Kernes from big politics will start a division of spheres of influence in Kharkov  with too many shady players. It also was a hit against oligarch Kolomoyskoy interests in Kharkov since Kernes was actually looking for his business interests in the area. Thus, all footprints of this assassination attempt lead to the Kiev Junta.

Portal " Empire" reminds us that today, approximately around noon, Kharkov mayor Gennady Kernes was shot and a seriously  wounded. He was promptly operated. At this moment, his life is not in danger.

What is your definition of a "Russian Ukrainian"?

How would compare to a "Ukrainian Russian"

What about the poles Lvov and other west of Kyiv where most of trouble comes from that are bused into the east

The Russian Ukrainians are Russians who live in the Ukraine.  The Russian Ukrainian sees themselves as Russian first and only.  They have no allegiance to the betterment of the Ukraine, as a Nation.  The Russian Ukrainian asks what has the Ukraine done for them lately.

Typically the Russian Ukrainian came to the Ukraine after the original Ukrainians were starved out and deported to Siberia.  The Russian Ukrainians hold positions of power in the poser economy of Eastern Ukraine.  The Russian Ukrainian does not want the Ukraine to compete on the world stage as their industries are not world class.  Many Russian Ukrainians would lose their positions of influence if Ukraine were to join the EU and adopt democratic governance models.

These are people familes lived in Ukraine centuries..long before Stalin was born...They speak Russian in home and more in business...

There is no problem between most Ukraine citizens and Russians..They are brothers, family...

It is outsiders spreading the shitte...and not Russia...Russia tried to help

You are ignorant of what all this is about.

Canucklehead's picture

You don't break up a family because you can't get your way.  If Ukraine and the Russians were family, what is with the Pro-Russian Ukrainian separatist agitation?

Yanukovich (the Russian Stooge) was running the Ukraine into the ground, and no one cared.  Once the money ran out, I'm sure the oligarchs told him to get money from Europe.  (I realize the Russian Stooge took over from the Ukrainian Stooge who allowed his/her country to be plundered.)  The Ukrainians sat back and acted like the Greeks (similar orthodoxy).

Europe wanted the Ukraine to clean up its act.  The citizenry finally decided that was the way to go.  Yanukovich went to Putin and asked if he can better this deal.  Putin said no, and told Yanukovich that the Ukrainians weren't joining Europe.  Yanukovich did as he was told.

All hell started to break loose.

Do you have any problems with this narrative?  Can you fill in some blanks?

Yup. The area was always referred to as "Kievan Rus" until the Germans decided to use the area in 1917 to cause problems for the Russians (sound familiar?). They dubbed the area "Ukraine" which means "borderlands." The concept as a separate nation is fairly modern.

Solar Eclipse April 28, 2014 11:04 p.m. Pacific Time (April 29, 6:04 a.m. UT) 14 degrees Aries Bharani Nakshatra Monday’s Solar Eclipse is a particularly aggravating one, due to the fact that it  occurs directly opposite Saturn and also receives a challenging aspect from  retrograde Mars. The eclipse takes place in Bharani Nakshatra, which is connected with Yama the God of Death. It further agitates the ongoing political unrest in  different parts of the world, which has been brought on by the Saturn Rahu  conjunction of 2013/14. Eclipses generally give their results for about 3 to 6 months after they occur. In some cases, they can also give results for a month or two before they take place.

S & P lowered the ratings of "Gazprom", "Rosneft" and Railways

The agency explained that the rating actions reflect the revision of Russia's sovereign rating associated with the tension in relations with Ukraine

Moscow. April 28. INTERFAX.RU - International rating agency Standard & Poor's on Monday downgraded the long-term credit ratings of five Russian companies - Railways, "Gazprom", "Rosneft", "Transneft" and FGC from "BBB" to "BBB-", said in a press release S & P. The outlook for all ratings - "negative."

Revised ratings of "Federal Passenger Company" - a subsidiary of Russian Railways. FPC ratings lowered from "BBB" to "BBB-".

The agency noted that the rating actions reflect the revision of the sovereign ratings of the Russian Federation, which took place last Friday. Then S & P downgraded the long-term rating of Russia on liabilities in foreign currency from "BBB" to "BBB-" - the last step of investment grade. Forecast long-term ratings of Russia - "negative."

In the S & P while explained that they expect further outflow of both foreign and domestic capital of the Russian economy. This, analysts say the rating agency, promotes geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

On Monday, the U.S. imposed new sanctions against Russia - they touched several companies and individual citizens. In the new list includes the president of the state oil company "Rosneft" Igor Sechin, the CEO of the state corporation "Russian Technologies" Chemezov, deputy head of the Kremlin administration, Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, presidential envoy to Russia in the Crimea Oleg Belavenets, chairman of the Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Alexei guns and head of the Federal Security Service Eugene Moores. The sanctions also affected 17 Russian companies. All of them are controlled either by Gennady Timchenko or Arkady and Boris Rotenberg or the bank "Russia". In the list of companies with several banks including Ivestkapitalbank, Sobinbank and SMP Bank. All persons involved in the list can not enter the territory of the United States, and the assets that they have in this country, are frozen.

In response to the sanctions imposed by the president of "Rosneft" Igor Sechin said that considers the actions of the U.S. administration as "highly appreciated the efficiency of our work," and noted that cooperation with U.S. partners will continue. According to him, in Washington noticed "a proactive company to reduce the risks associated with the one-sided orientation of hydrocarbon exports to certain regional markets."

The fate of Ukraine must be decided by Ukrainians and the Ukrainian people as a whole, and not by the separatist minorities with face covered only speak the Russian language ..

In Ukraine is only the Ukrainians who must jointly decide their destiny and not in parts who prefer to speak Russian. Historical errors, many countries have done and are now not heal this with separatists and anti-democratic means ..!

This all has a reason to be very simple : If only the Ukrainian population decide their fate , it is very likely ; russia lost Ukraine forever. But they prefer only some Ukrainians, not all decide.

Ukrainians have to decide for them only, without Russia or the West , but mediated by these two unless democracy to Russia has different rules , it is very likely ..

Probably the population voting and access to information services freely, show what they really want . No wonder that in crimeira the first goal of citizen pro- Russia and Russia was occupying independent radio and information services , happened now in eastern Ukraine cities. the typical model to colonize a country or occupy: Cover Their eyes to see only what interests the colonizing country that wants to occupy part of another or implement a puppet government.

Everyone stay aware : if minorities here in Ukraine , decide their destiny in this anti democratic and separatist way to get what they want , you will see this happening all over the world . Russia is contributing much to it .. That is what you want in your country.. ? ! ..

If they are not minorities does not have to be afraid vote free and jointly.

Honestly thought that Russia had grown a bit since the Cold War .

You talk as though nothing has changed since this low level conflict started.  This has been going on for weeks and people are making their minds up about who is right and who is wrong.

Putin started strong, and was right to do so.  I suspect his original strategy was to grab the Crimea and then let the national elections run their course.  The power mad Russian Ukrainians decided they needed to step in front of Putin so they could guarantee a seat at the table.  These Russian Ukrainians wanted to steal their share of booty, caused by the upheavel they are creating.

Time has rolled on and the Nazis on the Ukrainian side cannot motivate their side the way the Nazis on the Russian Ukrainian side can.  The people of the world have tuned in Monday morning to find the Nazis of the Russian Ukrainians are behaving like the German Nazis of World War II fame, while the Nazis of the Ukrainian side either have lost their way, or are trying to be like a Bush Nazi.  Either way, the Ukrainian Nazis cannot seem to get any traction. People are starting to call those Ukrainian Nazis the same names they called George Bush.  The Russian Ukrainian Nazis are killing people, or attempting to kill people.

All in all, the Ukrainian Nazis appear to be Neo-Nazis, while the Russian Ukrainian Nazis present themselves as old school Nazis, similar to those from the 1930s and 1940s.

Oh for fucks sake, just put down those stupid smart phone cameras and stop taping every bloody second of the violence from every fucking angle.

Drop that smart phone for a rock, a bottle or a grenade launcher and get on with it already!

We don't need to see the carnage or who did wat to whom. Don't care that Boris has a booboo on his arm or leg.

Just results matter!

Odd that you should mention SMART PHONES.

As an American now living in Ukraine, I was surprised that ALMOST EVERYONE here appears to have a Smart Phone - except me!  People occasionally ask me why I, as an American, have a "regular" old mobile phone instead of a Smart Phone. My reply is simply that I don't need one.

Look like Kiev has gotten their troops to the East finally. The role of the Army is not to take down the Pro Russian movement in the East, it is to break down the road blocks and hold open the roads for the bus loads of Right Sector to reach these cities. Never forget, all the Right Sector are still collecting their EU/USA paychecks, 40-50 Euro a day, a fantastic sum for a days pay in Ukraine.

Civil wars are very often very ugly wars, as no one hates like neighbors do.

We have seen the pattern, the USA is on a nation busting spree. Iraq is torn apart in blood, Afghanistan is torn apart in blood, Syria is torn apart in blood, Libya is torn apart in blood, now Ukraine is torn apart in blood. The USA took the lead on all these nations. Yet, if you follow US media, we have been spreading freedom and prosperity everywhere we go. The US is now the world's biggest liar by far, Oh, perhaps North Korea gives 'em a run for their money.

This was the plan, Nuland and her husband are not Americans, we all know they are Israeli agents, yet they run American foreign policy, as we, the workers, pay the taxes to fund their adventures. Americans seem too stupid to react to this subversion, it seems junk food, TV and drugs have taken the fight out of Americans. We are passive witness now, nothing more. NSA and Police State cops have a death grip on anyone who takes it to the street, so it might as well be over.

if you are anywhere near Chicago during the last stage of collapse you are way too late to worry about the first four stages.  American civilization being what it is has collapsed gradually over the last 30 plus years.  When the Mexican illegals decide to annex California, New Mexico, Arizona and Chicago because they can without too much of a fight we will have a real pickle on our hands.  The fact that our government is just trying to tax to death the last working folk who support all those who don't pay taxes for apparently any reason allowed now days just adds expediency in giving our country away from the inside out.  I don't recognize what we allow for decent public behavior any more.  People shoot or try to kill with a vehicle because you cut them off on the tollway.  Imagine if people really couldn't find food in a store in America's innner cities?  HELL TO PAY.  Don't think for one second there couldn't be martial law declared nationwide within 3 days of EBT cards stopping working.  If you need to get out of dodge and miss that happening it will be too late.  Don't think cops or soldiers will fire on you?  You really want to roll  those dice?   Cops strangle homeless people who are unarmed.  Come on.  America?  Glad I knew you.  For all without a good education,,, that is a past tense word there,  so sad.

THREE Days to imposition of Martial Law?

You're being rather optimistic there are you not? It only took s few HOURS of LOCAL EBT service provision interruption to result in some pretty memorable scenes (along the lines of "I'm helping myself, 'cause I CAN!")

The timeline might be more along the lines of 24 - 36 hours 'till Martial Law, three days until "All Hell Breaks Loose" in the more densely populated centres, with running turf battles between groups of very well-armed, and very highly - motivated, "former citizens".

The most important thing to take from this is the quick transition from a peaceful, civilized society to near total chaos. The US is three days away from this same thing happening, once a trigger event occurs. You can debate what the trigger point will be, but you can be sure that when it happens the stores will be closed (or looted), the store workers will not be leaving their homes to go to work, and the delivery trucks that re-supply those stores will not be running.

Seeing as "The Breakdown of Civilisation is but nine missed meals away", reality is going to be pretty brutal.

Remember it's not a case of "three days of temporary disruption", but three days at the start of a completely new experience for everyone (and a very unpleasant experience at that!). Vandalism / wanton destruction / looting of key infrastructure will certainly impede any attempts to restore a semblance of "normality", even if said normality has a closer resemblance toa full-on, no-holds-barred totalitarian rule, that what used to pass for "civilised society"
