Two Ukraine Helicopters Shot Down: Watch As Gunship Engages Eastern Militia In Intense Fighting

Tyler Durden's picture

Earlier today, we read reports out of Russian Itar-Tass stating that east Ukraine militia had shot down a Ukraine gunship and a Su-25 fighter jet, as well as four APC. We were waiting for an official confirmation from Ukraine as the level of propaganda on both sides is somewhat tricky to filter. We got at least partial proof moments ago from Ukraine's military spokesman Seleznyov, who said via Bloomberg:

  • UKRAINE SAYS 2 SOLDIERS DEAD, 42 WOUNDED TODAY IN EASTERN OP
  • UKRAINIAN SEPARATISTS SHOOT DOWN 2 HELICOPTERS: SELEZNYOV

Here is what else Itar-Tass reported from a conflict which suddenly all Western media has forgotten:

People’s militia in the city of Sloviansk, east Ukraine’s Donetsk Region, have downed a fighter plane Su-25 and a Ukrainian helicopter gunship as well as four armored personnel carriers (APC), Sloviansk People’s Mayor Vyacheslav Ponomarev told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

Ukraine's military has amassed armored vehicles and self-propelled mortars and howitzers near the town of Sloviansk, Stella Khorosheva, spokeswoman for the Sloviansk people's mayor, told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

The military equipment numbering 100 units includes Grad salvo systems, Khorosheva said.

An An-30 plane has been sighted over Sloviansk, making periodic flyovers. According to Khorosheva, clashes began at around 6.00 am local time on Tuesday.

"A report said that Ukrainian troops had broken through in the area of the village of Semyonovka," she said, adding that Ukraine's National Guard was using tanks.

"It looks like they've brought here all their army and (military) equipment," she said.

Earlier, a people's militia representative told ITAR-TASS that Ukrainian military aircraft had delivered several missile strikes at Semyonovka and that the village of Cherevkovka had come under missile and machine-gun fire as well.

"There have been no casualty reports yet, because everybody is holding the line or is in shelter," the militia representative said.

It is unclear if the downed Ukrainian Su-25 is the same one as the one caught on tape launching bombs at Ukraine civilians in the town of Lugansk.

And while we don't have a clip which captures the latest downing of the two Ukraine helicopters (or the fighter jet) here is a YouTube video from earlier today showing two Ukraine helicopters engaged in heavy fighting with forces on the ground near the city of Slavyansk. 1:58 into the clip it becomes visible when the helicopter pilot engages his gun at ground targets.

Unguided missiles according to the OSCE.

.

Confirmed: Ukrainian air force fired over 150 missiles at Lugansk, bombed admin HQ

'The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) also confirmed on Tuesday that the deadly explosion at the city’s administrative building was indeed an airstrike. Kiev has so far denied the responsibility for the incident, saying its forces “do not target” civilian areas.

The OSCE Ukrainian mission’s daily report stated that “on June 2, around 15:00 local time missiles hit the building of the regional government administration. According to the observers’ data, the strike was carried out with non-guided missiles launched from an aircraft.”'

No update on that 'news'? Just more reliable news from russia today and TASS - the telegrapg agency of Soviet Union (soyuz)?

Did you even bother to read the first line, or is reading too hard? It's convenient that you skipped the first half of the sentence you chose to highlight:

"While one should take locally sourced news on the volatile situation in Ukraine, reported by media that is ideologically close to the source, with a grain of salt,"

Sure, I read this part. Therefore I would expect a correction after this 'news' turns out to be false. And I would expect from reasonable people to do some conclusions about russian media as a source of information.

Until now it happened so with russian sources that the more sensational the news are - the more fake they are. At least visit sometimes stopfake.org and inforesist.org which are also available in English.

Maybe we should wait for it to be proven false before criticizing the post. If it does turn out to be false then I too would hope to see a retraction. All sources of 'news' should be observed with a jaded eye. As far as the current post I would point out this comment by Zero Hedge:

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. There is no even ordinary evidence for that 'news'. You have only RIA's report (it also owns Russia Today, btw) . And very few websites copypasted that news, including ZH, which have lost its credibility at least in regards to russian aggression on Ukraine.

Funny how I keep seeing vague claims of "Russian aggression" against the Ukraine, but it's all very general, as if one is just supposed to accept it based on faith or something. I wonder why all those 'american' news media, like CNN, WSJ, BBC, and NYT, with all their credibility, don't have anything more specific than those discredited photos they ran with a few weeks ago.

Please don't ask me to prove that Santa doesn't exist. I can't. It's your right to believe in Santa or in Russia Today.

Based on russia's news credibility (see stopfake.org for instance), a grain of salt will not not be enough. It's fatally rotten. Why use it 95% of time on everything, related to Ukraine?

Besides, the news in russian language (for local consumption) are much worse. They actually succeeded to turn 90-95% of russian residents into zombies. It's quite a phenomena.

That stopfake.org is "interesting", for a variety of reasons. A whois query of the domain stopfake.org indicates that it was created on 2 March 2014, and all registrant, administrative, and technical contact information is handled by Whois privacy protection service, which is a department of the domain's registrar.

This in and of itself is not really suspicious, as many domains, especially potentially controversial ones, are registered in a similar manner. It is when you look at the domain's registrar that it begins to get interesting. The registrar is Internet Invest, Ltd. dba Imena.ua, which is based in Kiev. Of course, Kiev has become infamous recently as the Banderastani capital of the Yatzi Junta.

A little more digging reveals that stopfake.org was created by students in Kyiv-Mohyla Academy's Digital Future of Journalism Program. The Digital Future of Journalism Program was "conceived, initiated, and sponsored by the Rinat Akhmetov Development of Ukraine Foundation".

The name Rinat Akhmetov sounded familiar. It turns out he is Ukraine's richest man, is a steel and mining oligarch, and, in what came as a complete surprise to me, is reputed to have ties to organized crime. He has also run the Donbass region like a feudal lord.

But hey, the whole purpose of the Maidan putsch was to throw out the oligarchs and clean up corruption. I have faith that Rinat Akhmetov would never try to influence the Digital Future of Journalism Program or do anything to compromise its integrity.

By supporting putin as an opposition to Obama, you try to cure a common cold with cholera. US has nothing to do with Ukrainian revolution. It's 100% anti-criminal, anti-corruption, and anti-communistic revolution. This is why putin is so angry.

Are you Ukrainian, then?

I'll speak only for myself, but I suspect most others would agree with me.  Outside of some idiots still stuck in the false dichotomy of our US domestic partisan electoral charades, nobody "supports" Putin.  We oppose a pattern of US behavior which runs contrary to the stated goals and values of the US, and harms the US more than it helps.  It does, however, advance the agenda of a global elite which couldn't care less about an American or a Ukrainian and values us only to the extent that we can be tapped for debt, or blood.

As for your statement "US has nothing to do with Ukrainian revolution," well, our US Department of State would beg to differ with you.  We've read the whole Nuland/Pyatt transcript, not just the "F*&# the E.U." part.  We read the parts about US sponsorship of "Yats," and the talk of how to whitewash the Banderists, and how to keep Klitschko on the sidelines.  We heard about Nuland handing out cookies to people who proudly claim to be neo-Nazis and even use Nazi symbols openly.  We heard what the Estonian Foreign Minister said about who hired the snipers at Maidan.  We've heard, from other than the Kremlin, what happened in the Trade Union building in Odessa.  We've seen what the Pravy Sektor types say in their own words, to those whom they think support them.  We know all about our little Blackwater/Xe/Greystone emissaries of good will.  And we also know about the anti-criminal anti-corruption credentials of your Gas Princess with the nifty little braid.

And if you haven't figured it out already; we're not going to give you any money.  You're going to give us money.  All your money.  Money you haven't even earned yet.  We already got your Gold.  And we're going to put you on the Greek plan; you get to watch your salary plummet, your taxes double or triple, and all the money will go to the international banks to pay Yanukovych's debts, as well as "Yats's", and whatever the finance costs are for the new debt the IMF will set up for you.  And we really want to force Putin to cut off the flow of natural gas to and through your country, because we care more about irritating him than we do about you freezing to death in the dark.  Any money coming from the US will be paid back in multiples, if not in blood.  There's nothing "Easy" about US money.

Yes, there are some fools in the US who think they support Putin because he's not Obama.  We usually don't let them make decisions, though.

These Soviets??

a snippet from Wikipedia:

Born 1891 in Vienna to Jewish parents, Bernays was a double nephew of psychoanalysis pioneer Sigmund Freud. His mother was Sigmund's sister Anna and his father was Ely Bernays, brother of Freud's wife Martha Bernays. In 1892 his family moved to New York City, where he attended DeWitt Clinton High School. In 1912 he graduated from Cornell University with a degree in agriculture, but chose journalism as his first career. He married Doris E. Fleischman in 1922. Doris Elsa Fleischman Bernays (July 18, 1891 – July 10, 1980), was an American public relations executive and feminist activist. Fleischman was a member of the Lucy Stone League, a group which encouraged women to keep their names after marriage. She was the first married woman to be issued a United States passport in her maiden name, Doris Fleischman, in 1925.Bernays, working for the administration of Woodrow Wilson during World War I with the Committee on Public Information, was influential in promoting the idea that America's war efforts were primarily aimed at “bringing democracy to all of Europe". Following the war, he was invited by Woodrow Wilson to attend the Paris Peace Conference in 1919.

Dr. E. J. Dillon, whose book, "The Inside Story of the Peace Conference" (Harper's)…..

“This, then, is a sidelight on what has been called the "Kosher Conference," a name given to the Peace Conference by Frenchmen who were astounded to see thousands of Jews from all parts of the world appear in Paris as the chosen counsellors of the rulers of the nations. Jews were so conspicuous in the American mission as to excite comment everywhere.

The formula into which this policy was thrown by the members of the Conference, whose countries it affected, and who regarded it as fatal to the peace of Eastern Europe, was this: 'Henceforth the world will be governed by the Anglo-Saxon peoples, who, in turn, are swayed by their Jewish elements.'"

Who Advocated World War l? The leading figures were people in the Creel Commission. In fact, the main one, Edward Bernays, comes right out of the Creel Commission known as the Committee on Public Information.

The Committee on Public Information (CPI), also known as the Creel Committee, organized publicity on behalf of U.S. objectives during World War I.

In 1917, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson tapped muckraking journalist George Creel to head the CPI. At the time, a strong current of public opinion in the United States opposed Wilson's plan to enter the war in Europe, and in fact Wilson had run for re-election in 1916 on the slogan, "He kept us out of war."

In a 1920 memoir, titled How We Advertised America, Creel wrote that the "war was not fought in France alone":

It was the fight for the minds of men, for the "conquest of their convictions," and the battle-line ran through every home in every country.

It was in this recognition of Public Opinion as a major force that the Great War differed most essentially from all previous conflicts. The trial of strength was not only between massed bodies of armed men, but between opposed ideals, and moral verdicts took on all the value of military decisions. ... In all things, from first to last, without halt or change, it was a plain publicity proposition, a vast enterprise in salesmanship, the world's greatest adventure in advertising. ...

There was no part of the great war machinery that we did not touch, no medium of appeal that we did not employ. The printed word, the spoken word, the motion picture, the telegraph, the cable, the wireless, the poster, the sign-board--all these were used in our campaign to make our own people and all other peoples understand the causes that compelled America to take arms. ... What we had to have was no mere surface unity, but a passionate belief in the justice of America's cause that should weld the people of the United States into one white-hot mass instinct with fraternity, devotion, courage, and deathless determination.

To accomplish these goal, Creel reached out to the entertainment and advertising industries and developing a complex, sophisticated and diverse array of propaganda techniques:

• The CPI trained a nationwide corps of public speakers, called "Four-Minute Men," to go into movie houses or other public functions and deliver brief speeches urging their neighbors to buy Liberty Bonds, donate to the Red Cross or join the armed forces. According to the committee's records, 75,000 Four-Minute Men and women made a total of 7,555,190 speeches in 1917 and 1918.

• Four Minute Speeches

The Four Minute Men were a group of volunteers authorized by the President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson, to give four minute speeches on topics given to them by The Committee on Public Information. The topics dealt with the American war effect in the First World War and were presented during the four minutes between reel changing in movie theaters across the country.

• Creel recruited filmmakers to produce pro-war silent features with titles such as "Pershing's Crusaders" that were shown in theaters around the country, often to the accompaniment of pianos in the movie houses thumping out patriotic songs. Silent movie stars such as Charlie Chaplin addressed crowds of thousands at war bond rallies.

• The CPI published "Red, White and Blue Books," containing essays by prominent academics and historians who argued in support of the Allied cause.

• The CPI's Division of Pictorial Publicity, headed by illustrator Charles Dana Gibson, who in turn gathered a corps of talented colleagues to develop the posters urging people to buy bonds or enlist in the army.[3] The posters often depicted the German enemy as a bloodthirsty savage, "the Hun." The Division of Pictorial Publicity turned out 1,438 different designs for posters, window cards, newspaper advertisements, cartoons, seals and buttons. Its most famous poster, featuring a stern, finger-pointing Uncle Sam saying "I Want You," was drawn by illustrator James Montgomery Flagg.

• The Creel committee also issued more than 6,000 news releases and 200,000 "lantern slide" shows. It used Boy scouts to deliver annotated copies of President Wilson's addresses to American homes. Fortnightly periodicals were sent to 600,000 teachers. Chambers of commerce, churches, fraternal societies and schools were used as channels of distribution for CPI propaganda.

Historian Robert H. Zieger calls the work of the CPI "an outstanding success. A vast army was raised. A polyglot population showed few signs of disloyalty or disaffection. Liberty Loan drives were all oversubscribed, Red Cross contributions and a dozen other war -support causes were successful." But while the Creel committee's efforts to sell the war were successful, its slogans of "the war to end war" and "making the world safe for democracy" were cruel illusions. In reality, the First World War laid the seeds for the rise of fascism, followed by the Second World War and a series of subsequent wars from which peace has yet to emerge.

Stunned by the degree to which the democracy slogan had swayed the public both at home and abroad, he wondered whether this propaganda model could be employed during peacetime. Due to negative implications surrounding the word propaganda because of its use by the Germans in World War I, he promoted the term "Public Relations". According to the BBC interview with Bernays's daughter Anne, Bernays felt that the public's democratic judgment was "not to be relied upon" and he feared that "they [the American public] could very easily vote for the wrong man or want the wrong thing, so that they had to be guided from above". This "guidance" was interpreted by Anne to mean that her father believed in a sort of "enlightened despotism" ideology.

Obama can't handle a war with a bunch of illiterate tribesmen in Afghanistan. Exactly how well will he do fighting against angry Russians, with Putin supplying an unlimited number of IEDs, RPGs, carbombs, and SAMs from sources safe within nuclear armed Russia?

How fucking retarded are you Obama pukes? Shit, you can't even handle a "color revolution" with fucking Libya, let alone poking the Russians. The only thing you will accomplish is getting a bunch of folks killed during the two years it will take to pry that dumbass out of the Whitehouse.

Once again, kicking the can and with the poorest taste of all.

Yet the commenter does not want to admit that Kievan Yatzi Junta Citizenism citizens know and agree with the murder of innocents in Donbass that is going.

The most mattering point: even though Kievan Yatzi Junta Citizenism propaganda is growing cheaper by the day, being more and more a simple test of faith, a demand of submission to the group, resources depletion forces to reduce costs on production of propaganda. Hence the use of Banderatard simpletons like b_thunder to produce it.

At first, they bambuzzled people. But now, as Kievan Yatzi Junta Citizenism citizens failed to renew their propaganda, the only efficient way to force the Banderatards' lies down the throat of others is violence.

Where is your limit hypocrisy? Russian secret agencies (and even simple militia) already use any kind of unrestricted access to phones, emails, etc. This is the main source of income for those agencies. If you know someone who has a business in Russia ask them, or ask why they couldn't open a business in Russia. And more is coming:

- Judging by the new regulations of the FSB, the law enforcement agencies need almost everything that internet companies have – explain journalists. – It is login credentials, all email addresses, list of all contacts with classification (i.e. “friends”, “subscribers”), communication volume, number of messages (both sent and received) and also all changes to an account, including attempts of its deletion. In addition to that, social networks, online forums, bloggers will have to report what pages are the most popular. What paid for services have been used and even from what devises and via what DNS-servers the Internet was accessed.

The only positive points of the regulation is that the users will not be forced to save and share content of communication, posts and comments.

Facebook, Twitter and VKontakte will fall under the regulation,” – reckons the “Rain”

OUR government started this war and most of the wars and battles fought in the last century. We, American citizens, have done nothing to stop our murderous politicians from killing millions of innocents. One estimate put the number of people killed by America, since 1948, at 47,000,000. That's forty seven million people killed in our name. That makes us, you and me, war criminals and we're the only people, in the world, who don't know it..

Eastern Ukraine is going to split. You don’t shoot down helicopters and jet aircraft unless you have the armaments to secede. This US-installed Kiev-coup government is not going to be able to bring these people into line.

The U.S. and Obama are being backed into a corner because they have tried to imply that this is a whole new country with a new president and now the Ukrainians are going to have a democracy and these unhappy people, these eastern protesters, are a kind of terrorist group and it’s just a job for the new government to put them down.

But since they won’t be put down, and now that it is war, Obama’s scenario looks like all the other wars he’s been in –all based on lies--and it’s not going to work his way in Ukraine.

The people in eastern Ukraine have proven they are not going to submit. And when a government starts killing its own people, including civilian women and children, bombing them on the ground, it's losing this thing.

KIev may push it to the point where Russia will intervene. And if that’s what they want, they are wrong. They tried it with Crimea and now Crimea is Russian territory.

Ukraine is not going well for the European bankers.

Exactly, and Americans will not accept a frontal assault on their country.

But to fight force unarmed means you sacrifice your life for nothing. American citizens are arming themselves, not for deer hunting or target practice, but to defend themselves from the government, if need be.  The country that has guns in the hands of its citizens is free; the country that has guns only in the hands of its rulers is not free.

Tom Gresham on his Gun Talk program June 16, 2013, estimates there are 100 million Americans with guns. And “according to the Geneva-based Small Arms Survey – “the leading source of international public information about firearms” – the U.S. has the best-armed civilian population in the world, with an estimated 270 million total guns. That’s an average of 89 firearms for every 100 residents…” – The Blaze, March 19, 2013.

The Bloomberg/Schumer/Feinstein relentless push for gun confiscation is the primary reason there is a massive increase in sales of firearms in the US.

As to what’s happening in America, you might be interested in an article, “Godfather of Gun Control: Who’s Behind the Curtain With Bloomberg?,” published a few months back in The Blaze.

Kathy Jessup, according to TheBlaze Magazine, “investigated [former] NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s pro-gun-control group Mayors Against Illegal Guns and what she found was an intertwined group of left-wing groups and financiers and an organization that’s using government resources to fight for the agenda of an anti-gun politician through a non-profit organization.

“Kathy reveals that Bloomberg has launched a massive campaign to undermine the Second Amendment and rid America of guns. And he’s using shady connections and taxpayer dollars to do it.”

When they talk about killing everybody it kinda makes it clear they're not open to reasining and you have to split or get out.

From saker

The victors of the Maidan coup d'etat, Oleg Tyagnibok (a sitting deputat of Ukraine Rada) and Dmitro Yarush, leaders of Svoboda Party and Right Sector Party respectively, had stated, during a live interview on Channel 5 TV in Kiev on 27 February 2014, that they were going to lead their combined 5500 fighters from Miadan down to Krim and Sevastopol and 'kill every Russian there' combined with 'we will put every Russian in Krim to the knife'. We took them seriously and we knew they were heavily armed with AK 47's and RPGs, clearly seen in videos of the end and aftermath of the coup in Maidan. Those first two days and nights on the barricades we had only clubs for most of us.

Just sent to the NY Times Foreign Desk editor:

"Sharyl Attkisson, an award-winning investigative reporter who resigned from CBS News earlier this year, says the news media are heading down a dangerous path with attempts to “censor or block stories” that don’t align with their preferred agenda.

“There’s a tendency in the news media, on the part of some managers, to censor or block stories that don’t fall in line with the message they want sent to the viewers,” Attkisson said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Signal."

Sounds like your coverage of the Ukraine.

But I'm going to keep putting the truth in your face hoping that at some point you'll come out of the propagandist role, and revert to being journalists.

As you know, you backed NATO intervention in Libya when the military unleashed its fighters and heavy artillery on the civilians. You did the same with Kosovo.

In an amazing demonstration of immoral hypocrisy, you remain silent about this in Ukraine. How does it feel to know your silence is leading to the slaughter of innocent civilians? I'll keep the photos of bloody, dead, unarmed, civilians coming your way. Sooner or later - maybe - your conscience will kick in when you've seen enough innocent children left in a bloody heap.

So here is today's clip - well, at least so far today - to let you face up to the truth. I keep wanting to believe you'll go from being useful idiots, to real, live journalists.

Hope springs eternal . . .

http://en.ria.ru/russia/20131029/184419476/Kissinger-Awarded-Honorary-Russian-Doctorate-in-Diplomacy.html

MOSCOW, October 29, 2013 (RIA Novosti) – The Russian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that its diplomatic academy had bestowed an honorary doctorate upon former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who is currently on a visit to Russia.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov congratulated Kissinger on the new title, and the two men exchanged thoughts about prospects in US-Russian diplomatic ties, the ministry said in a statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who also met with the veteran US diplomat, said Kissinger’s views on global problems were always of particular interest to Russian politicians and diplomats, according to a Kremlin transcript.

(...) “You have many friends in Russia, both among our foreign policy veterans and among other people as well, who always pay great attention to your views on how the global political situation will develop. So giving you an honorary doctorate by the Russian diplomatic academy makes perfect sense,” Putin said.

Kissinger thanked Putin for the meeting and noted that he had been visiting Russia regularly throughout the past 50 years.

Amid much hysteria, the notion has been widely peddled in the United States that President Obama's "new" foreign policy doctrine, announced last week at West Point, rejects neo-cons and neo-liberals and is, essentially, post-imperialist and a demonstration of realpolitik.

Not so fast. Although stepping back from the excesses of the Cheney regime - as in bombing whole nations into "democracy" - the "desire to lead" still crystallizes might is right.

Moreover, "exceptionalism" remains the norm. Now not so blatant, but still implemented via a nasty set of tools, from financial warfare to cyber-war, from National Endowment for Democracy-style promotion of "democracy" to Joint Special Operations Command-driven counter-terrorism, drone war and all shades of shadow wars.

Oddly enough, reading the comments showed me that the State Department Employed trolls were late to this post. They arrived only by page three. Their programs are either slow, bad government contracted software, or they were late getting out of bed. In any case, we see some of these State Department paid propaganda trolls arrived on ZH just about the time Euro Maidan was peaking and the civil war kicking off. So transparent, so obvious. And then even the State Department itself admits it has a program of hired trolls whose job is to react to comments on blogs, to get in an try and control the direction of comments, to get the US Official Line out and try and use posts to sidetrack comments off of the reality based facts and onto to useless side issues and fake debating tactics.

Anyways, just be aware who is who. They are transparent in that they are obviously not ZH regulars.

I am a novice: there are guys here with a Wealth of Knowledge and Insight. We are lucky right now to have our clubhouse.

I don't think the trolls here are paid, you would not pay for trolls with the intellectual limits of the trolls you get on ZH, they  are entitled to their opinion as much as anybody else.

I suspect many of them are just playing devils advocate to see who will bite.

When DEA Agents are posting on Zerohedge they are being paid by the Federal Government. There is an information war being waged for the control of your mind.

Notice that the DEA is the Drug Enforcement Agency and NOT the Drug ERADICATION Agency. They are interested in the Ukraine. But why?

In the time-honored ZH spirit of under-informed but often accurate worst-case speculation, I'm going to guess the DEA is interested in Ukraine for the same reasons it was so important to create an instantly failed state of Kosovo.  A completely corrupt, ineffectual state utterly dependent on US dark money and mercenaries is a great trans-shipment point for the international heroin trade.  Afghan heroin production is at all-time highs (pun intended) and that shit don't ship itself.  Russia is being flooded with heroin, and cheap.  I'll posit that all manner of organized crime, state-sponsored and otherwise, is looking at Ukraine's strategic location and bleak future prognosis and considering just how best to set up shop.  One man's dumpster fire is another man's heat source.

"From 1991 (and really even before that) to 1999 Russia was an imperial colony run by a collection of mostly Jewish oligarchs who hated Russia and who literally stole everything they could.  From 1999 to 2012 Putin and his "Eurasian Sovereignists" had to share power with Medvedev's "Atlantic Integrationists" (for the meaning of these terms see here and here) but since 2012 the former have pretty much seized full control of the Russian state.  Hence the apparent change in course since 2012 and the West's hysterical reaction of outrage, impotent furstration and barely contained hatred for the men whom they see as the number one enemy of the NWO on the planet and in that assessment they are actually absolutely correct, if late.

Yes, today Russia has fundamentally turned away from the NWO and purged most, if not all, of the pro-NWO elite in Moscow.  The future of Russia is in Asia and in the great Russian North and there is nothing the AngloZionist Empire can do about that."

This was taken from a pro Russian Blog that follows the Ukraine crisis." The Saker.", is how he is known.

Three weeks later when Cayce was asked,“What should be the attitude of so called capitalist nations toward Russia?” his reply was likely unexpected.

On Russia’s religious development will come the greater hope of the world. Then that one, or group, that is the closer in its relationships, may fare the better in the gradual changes and final settlement of conditions as to the rule of the world. (3976-10)
Six months later, additional informa- tion was presented which helped to clarify this earlier prediction.
Out of Russia, you see, there may come that which may be the basis of a more world wide religious thought or trend... (3976-12)
When Hugh Lynn Cayce asked about the Russian situation in June 1938, he was told:
A new understanding has and will come to a troubled people. Here, because of the yoke of oppression, because of the self indulgences, has arisen another extreme. Only when there is freedom of speech, the right to worship according to the dictates of the conscience—until these come about, still turmoils will be within. (3976-19)
As with China, the final World Affairs reading given in 1944 emphasized Russia’s vital role in the future of the earth but in “friendship” with America.
In Russia there comes the hope of the world, not as that sometimes termed of the Communistic, of the bolshevistic; no. but freedom, freedom! That each man will live for his fellow man! The principle has been born. It will take years for it to be crystallized, but out of Russia comes again the hope of the world. Guided by what? That friendship with the nation that hath even set on its present monetary unit “In God We Trust.” (3976-29)
(in the present) is the leading nation in at- tempting to give an understanding of the principles of “Thou shalt love thy neigh- bor as thyself,” it stands above all others in its financial, in its social positions in the world; yet it has faltered, and—as of old—when troubles arise, when fearful conditions beset thee, the same answer as was of old, “know ye that sin lieth at thy door!”
When there are, then, the greater num- ber that would see that the ideal is again made the standard, then may conditions be expected to improve. This not as men count improvement, in dollars and cents, but in contentment and understanding— and one is the fruit of the other! (3976-8)
When Gertrude Cayce asked for in- formation on national and international affairs in June 1938, the reply was likely unsettling.
It is also understood, comprehended by some, that a new order of conditions is to arise; that there must be many a purging in high places as well as low; that there must be the greater consideration of each individual, each soul being his brother’s keeper. There will then come about those circumstances in the political, the economic and the whole relationships where there will be a leveling...it behooves all of those who have an ideal...to be practicing, apply- ing same...in their relationships as one to another. For unless these are up and doing, then there must indeed be a new order in their relationships and their activities.
All too often has this message been forgotten in the pulpits and in the or- ganizations, not only in the national

I nominate KnuKles.

OK, maybe Freddie or Bastiat.

I would do it, but I have to go on TDY.

Tylers could put up a little box at the top near the ads that has a daily sumary.

Go ZH! Rage against the Machine!!

I have traveled to the Ukraine about 6 times since 2004 and from the people there that I have known, they all have some ancestors that died in various wars, purges, and politically controlled famines historically there. Really, everyone. There is an eagerness in some Ukrainians, to relive the bravery of ancestors that contributes to the conflict now. I may be lecturing in Kiev this September, my assistant was there about 2 months ago and she speaks both Ukrainian and Russian. Interesting stories from her.

This is insanity at work.

Some people wish to form their own government, some wish to join the Russian Federation and some want to keep Ukraine intact.  That is how I see it anyway.  Then we have other countries getting involved and stirring this pot to a boil.

Now Ukrainians are killing each other.

For what?  Revenge, power or because they themselves don't really know and are following someone's dictates without thinking of the consequences?  In the USA they had a massive civil war, killed a hell of a lot of people.  Never mind the injuries, property losses and so on.

Is this what some divine entity wishes for us, or is this the animal in us coming full circle?

As long as they leave me alone, my neighbor can do what he wants.  Maybe that is the problem, we can't respect each other or won't.

Just doesn't make sense, the killing fields I mean.
