Russia Reignites The Proxy War: Putin Offers "Complete Support" To Iraq Prime Minister Scorned By Obama
Two days ago, before it was formalized that the US tacitly, if not explicitly, now supports the removal of the Iraqi Prime Minister whom it itself had helped elect, we summarized the geopolitical tensions and "national interests" in Iraq, which is shaping up to be a proxy war that makes last year's Syrian escapade pale by comparison, as follows:
The situation in Iraq, already a jumble of domestic sectarian violence, is now pitting virtually all major (and regional) international players against each other as well. There is:
- US which tacitly supports Iran intervention in the region, but may have suddenly cooled in its support of Maliki despite sending naval and troop forces in the country after partially evacuating its embassy
- Saudi Arabia which wants to remain friendly with the US but is antagonistic to the Iraq regime, is potentially aiding the ISIS forces, and clearly refuses to allow Iran entrance in Iraq
- Iran, which has suddenly become America's best friend in the region, which is willing to enter Iraq and protect its holy sites
- Syria, whose president is sitting back amused at last year's failed campaign by the US to remove him from power, and whose army is at a stalemate with the local US-armed and funded rebels
- Qatar, which is supporting the Syrian rebels, but so far has not made its stance clear on Iraq. Like Saudi, it too may be indirectly backing ISIS
- Jordan, which is a close friend the US, and which may have hosted ISIS in a secret base on its territory with the US instructing the jihadist group according to an unconfirmed report
- Turkey, which is on constant alert to Kurdish escalation across the border, the same Kurds which now have far more leverage courtesy of ISIS crushing the Iraq army in the north and handing over Kurds access to oil fields in the north.
- And of course Russia: because while Putin clearly benefits from rising crude prices, it is his Lukoil that is developing (and investing vast amounts of money in) the vast Iraqi West Qurna-2 oil field. It is not clear how he would feel about it falling into ISIS hands.
It was the bolded text that was of biggest interest because as we noted the next day, when discussing the next steps for ISIS, we said that "One wonders how long until the mercenary force finds its latest major backer, because for all the western, US-led intervention, both Russia and China are oddly missing from the scene. We expect that to change soon."
Because clearly one can't have a global proxy war without China, and certainly without Russia.
Well, we said we expected Russia's conspicuous absence to "change soon", and so it did: within just 24 hours. Because apparently all Putin was waiting for was for Obama to pick sides (i.e., not Maliki) before the Russian leader made it clear whom he sides with. US, helpfully obliged yesterday morning when we also reported that "US Slams Its Former Iraq Puppet: "The Maliki Government, Candidly, Has Got To Go"."
So what does Putin - who as a reminder is heavily invested in Iraq' massive West Qurna-2 oil field via Lukoil - do? Why announce his undying support for Maliki, of course, and as AP reported, the former KGB spy offered Iraqi premier Nuri al-Maliki Russia's total backing for the fight against fighters who have swept across the country, as well as his full support for the embattled prime minister.
More:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken by phone to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, expressing Moscow’s support for his action against the militant offensive.
The Kremlin said in a statement that al-Maliki informed Putin on Friday about his government’s steps to combat the “terrorist groups in the north of the country.” It added that the insurgency threatens security of the entire region.
Putin confirmed Russia’s “full support for the Iraqi government’s action to quickly free the territory of the republic from terrorists,” the Kremlin said, adding that Putin and al-Maliki also discussed bilateral cooperation.
Putin’s expression of support for the embattled Iraqi prime minister comes as al-Maliki’s rivals have mounted a campaign to force him out of office, with some angling for support from Western backers and regional heavyweights.
And just like in Syria from 2012 to 2013, the chessboard is once again set, with a regional middle-east conflict, this time in Iraq, merely serving as the proxy staging ground in which the Iraqi PM, once an obedient US puppet but now an enemy of Saudi Arabia and thus the US, "simply has to go" in the words of Dianne Feinstein, has suddenly become the fulcrum issue behind yet another soon to escalate conflict between Russia and the US.
One thing is certain: the more the US (and Saudi Arabia, and Qatar) pushes for Maliki's ouster, the more involved Russia will become with its offers of support and bilateral cooperation. And if the Syrian fiasco (for John Kerry) is any indication, Russia is about to expand its "national interest" sphere of influence by one more country.

Putin to Bathhouse Barry: "check..."
Another foriegn policy victory for the Obama camp.
With all of the events related to energy the last few years, this all seems to be a slow strategic setting up of the major oil producers to pull the plug on the petrodollar. Think about the events:
BP oil rig explosion
Fukashima
Ukraine
Russia/China gas deal
The attempted takedown of Assad in Syria
Libya/Egypt
Keystone Pipeline delayed forcing Canada to sell to China
I'm sure there are other events that don't specifically come to mind but my point is that this all seems to be setting up to something specific and not just a synchronicity of random happenings. Perhaps it's a move toward natural gas on a larger scale. Just a thought.
Curious why no news in the MSM about Fukushima? What do the powers know that we do not?
Read Enenews and skf-blogspot. You'll know everything worth knowing about Fukushima.
No government wants anyone to know the full horror of the end of all life on this planet within 100 years. The North Pacific is just about completely dead, death rates are climbing far beyond normal in Japan and North America, and we're only a little over three years into it. It will continue to pump lethal death for another five billion years, and it's only four NPP's. Soon more will fail, which will also be impossible to contain, and the nuclear dominos start to fall from there.
Hug your loved ones, we are entering the final Dark Ages.
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2013/09/11/fukushima-equals-6000-hiroshima-...
Looks like ISIS has already run into a wall of Shiite without anyone coming to the rescue yet.
Isn't this kind of like stealing someone's date at the prom?
Maybe like that, but, she's not even hot !
Oil is the hottest hot when there isn't so much around anymore.
I think we have two sets of games going on, with each of the two sides trying to outpace and outflank (front-run) the other:
1. The Petro-Dollar Empire and its bullied, bribed or blackmailed 'Friends' are trying to create a regional or world war, to prevent the collapse of the Dollar. And with it, their wealth and lifestyle. Proxies are being used as bait for Crisis, Escalation and War.
2. The Rebels (Russia,China, Iran...) are trying to crash the Dollar, rather than get sucked into War. Proxies are being used as means to buy time.
Both sides are sophisticated enough to know that massive PR must be used to neutralize/freeze the Moderates and the Populace, lest they get sucked into one camp or the other.
p.s. IMO this situation/story does NOT have a Happy Ending, until a full Financial Reset has been reached. Even then, it will take some time afterwards for things to stabilize and re-grow.
And ISIS! Seriously where the fuck did they come from? Brand new toyota trucks, new arms, and ten thousand strong. Who funded them, us, saudis, tehran? This seems like using proxies to achieve what most people would be outraged by and that is to just give up all of our interests and any allies we ever had in that region.
I guess this is what is called flexibilty. Russia can only benefit from this by using Iran and Syrial to help garner control of the regions major oil supply to Europe and the US. The USA cannot keep pace with many players at hand working against them and a president who is willing to let that happen. And he wants that to happen.
They have always been there. Retreaded AQ.
As long as the Saudis can continue funding them, they will have an inexhaustable supply of recruits. The Saudis have to do something with all those unmarried young men, or they will do something unpleasant, like killing the Saudi royals.
I wanna know when the IPO is!

SCF Altai tanker approaches Ashkelon port ReutersIsrael will receive its first delivery of oil from a disputed pipeline in Kurdistan, in a sign of growing relations between the Jewish state and the autonomous Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq.
On Friday the SCF Altai tanker approached the city of Ashkelon in southern Israel, and is scheduled to dock sometime Saturday.
The oil delivery is from the KRG's new independent pipeline which bypasses the central Iraqi government by running directly to the Turkish port of Ceyhan, much to the chagrin of Baghdad's embattled government. The delivery to Israel comes at a crucial time for the KRG, which is looking to protect itself from the deteriorating situation in Iraq by being more independent economically.
The independent export of oil to Israel comes shortly after Kurdish Peshmerga forces - the KRG's independent army - seized the oil-rich town of Kirkuk in northern Iraq, along with swathes of territory near the Turkish border, as Iraqi troops abandoned their posts in response to the advance of Sunni Muslim rebels including the radical Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). KRG officials have already openly entertained the option of redirecting the flow of oil from Kirkuk through the Ceyhan pipeline, particularly after the regular Kirkuk pipeline was sabotaged after Kurdish forces took control of the city.
The United States opposes the KRG's oil pipeline, but Israeli officials told Reuters Jerusalem is keen to build relations with the Kurds, both in order to counter the growing influence of Iran and to generally broaden its options for energy supplies.
Unlike the US and many European countries, Israel does not buy oil from Iraq, and is therefore unruffled by the Iraqi government's staunch opposition to the Ceyhan pipeline.
Who is doing what; and with which; and to whom???
There may be some who see the writing on the wall...uncomfortable with the future petrorubel or petroyuan, don't think the EU will exist in its current form any longer...so why not have a Petrolira or Petroshekel too.
Since Egypt it is clear that the US will throw any and all allies under the bus...for some unclear ideological construct...of malignancy...ISIS.
its like the illegal alien kids just flooding the border. seriously, where did they come from? just out of the fucking blue. unescorted in many cases. and miraculously they have defacto citizenship. oh and they get to bring in their families to. its obvious to those who wish to pay attention, but to those who just hear about the news are clueless and blind. it international community organzing. And ACORN was an international group until they had to change their. But they are still out there.
The problem isn't the free migration of people, but the free dispensing of benefits to them.
We have no business telling other people where they can or can't go, as long as they aren't in our literal backyard or on the driveway.
Not out of the blue.
Obama indicated that he would try to get kids of illegals citizenship, so all the illegals in the US sent money home to get their kids shipped to them.
Putin is consistent: he backs the Shite governments of Syria, Iraq and Iran. Can you spot how Obama is being inconsistent?
His lips move?
What does Saad Maan have to say about this? I need his opinion.
He says, "Cheer up".
He says the Russians are coming....and ISIS is fixing to kiss the donkey in a big way.
As a side note, that Saad Maan fella really needs to grow a proper 'stache if he's going to say in that gig. Call me sentimental,
Oh Man..Putin is gonna get him some Iraq now too? All this after the U.S. taxpayers did all the heavy lifting and bomb dropping and bloodletting along with becoming an even greater enemy AND AFTER BUILDING TENS OF BILLIONS IN INFRASTRUCTURE?? This is priceless...Wait till they start start making agreement to export the Iraqi oil in NON US DOLLARS....See why cannot have nice things? Because you break everything U.S. foreign policy.
Oh, give the British some credit, will ya'?
White Man With British Accent Led Al-Shabaab Attack On Kenyan Town That Killed 60 People…"A white man speaking ‘fluent English’ was in charge of an Somali Islamist group al-Shabaab which gunned down at least 60 people in a Kenyan coastal town on Sunday evening, according to witnesses.
Several residents in Mpeketoni reported that they saw a pale-skinned man who spoke English and Arabic giving orders to the gunmen."

"Thanks for your help, Vlad. We Iraqis now have a friend. We want you to have the new old US Embassy as a gift, a place to stay when you visit."
"Thank you. I was thinking of turning it into a hotel and casino."
"Excellent, effendi."
Hey Putin,
You ready for Israel?
We are ready for you punk!
Let's meet..
Fuck Israel....they're behind most all of this shit.
All of it. The only way they sell their ample gas anytime soon is through Syria.
Israel will not be Jewish by the time any gas transit facilities are built. They're dying out due to DU exposure. Roughly no more children after 2020.
The problem is, the Israelis are not the part of the tribe calling the shots. They're not even part of the 'real' tribe. They don't live in Israel and aren't breathing/eating DU. But they did make a shit tonne of money selling it to the Israelis, knowing full well what would happen.
A small group of 'neo-Jews' hates the real Jews with a passion, and are winning the war.
Expect the Israelis to sell out to Putin if they keep being thrown under the State Department bus. They like being on the winning side.
That should put the millennialists' knickers in a knot.
Fuck with Putin? The defender of what remains of Christianity and Western Civilization? The only leader of a great power who does not bow down to the altar of zionism and kiss the ass of an Israeli Prime Minister?
Please God -let Israel fuck with Putin -please-before I die.
He's just fucking with us now.
Putin, I gota love him!
My money is on ISIS-The USA. It's been shown to have worked before. Just mind the blowback.
Elliptico
Appears you have some kind of shape now.
Yes ISIS is the USA in disguise.Just like Al Queada is a CIA subsidiary. And soon likely to be kicked into some unrecogonizable shape .
By the time Americans wake up from their slumber and find out what their Government is doing in their name - it may be too late
Americans won't wake up ............ fluoride, gmo, vaccines, nano, dental amalgam (enhanced with cone beam xray) pink slime, aspartame etc. well you get the picture.
Maliki's term ended on June 15th. He is only opeating in a care taker capacity until the new Parlament convenes this Tuesday and nominates a new Prime Minister. Maliki's party does not have enough seats to vote Maliki in again as PM. Obama will not use air power to maintain status quo of the existing government. When the new government is elected and in power, the US will step up military support to protect the new Iraqi government.
"...the US will step up military support to protect the new Iraqi government."
Yeah, they may scramble to try to now that they see Putin running off with their prom date.
Iraq already has somebody taking care of the Iraqi government:
"When a senior Iraqi intelligence official traveled to Tehran in the summer of 2007 to meet with the Iranian leadership, he quickly figured out who was in charge of Iran’s policy toward its neighbor to the west.
It was not the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It was Qassim Suleimani, the shadowy commander of Iran’s paramilitary Quds Force, who calmly explained that he was the “sole authority for Iranian actions in Iraq,” according to an account the Iraqi official later provided to American officials in Baghdad."
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/03/world/middleeast/qassim-suleimani-iran...
I don't think it would be a smart idea to fuck with this guy, either.
There must be some horrific situation hidden within Russia's economy that they public is unaware of... Putin desperately wants war... with anyone he can.
+1
You just forgot the /S. I got it. You don't need one.
The horrific not so hidden situation is GoBombem and FrankenFeinstein attempting to throw Milaki under the bus, incite sectarian civil war in Iraq ala Nuland-Ukraine, and gain possession of the Russian West Qurna-2 oilfield interest for their American patrons.
It won't take more than one or two more corrrupt, inept 'policy' mistakes like this to provoke Putin into the war 'our' demented administration imagines will solve their impending financial and political collapse.
I vote for Chinese 'peacekeepers'. Millions of 'em, all through the ME and Africa.
Once they get there they will never leave. Casualties are not a problem when you have a few million men army.
Are you insane? All Putin needs to do is keep saying "nice doggie" to Obama until the US economy implodes. Why stop an enemy from stabbing himself?
All this "Putin wants war" talk is wishfull thinking by the Obamatards. They want war. War was the only thing that saved FDR, and they think it will work for them.
USSA / Russia playing Rope-A-Dope
Guess who the Dope is? (Hint: It ain't Russia)
I was thinking more like Punk'd, but I like your analogy better.
That confirms that ISIL is a US funded ops.
Saudi funded. Obama merely picked the target, and is now embarrassed that the ISIS scorpion stung his ass instead of seriously taking on Assad.
Putin getting some leverage. Now maybe the genocide will stop in Ukraine.
Probably not. Obama will try to get the EU to fund the Ukes, and Putin ain't going to give Obama a free war. Weapons will get smuggled into East Ukraine, and the bloodletting will continue until the US implodes, or the EU decides to stop committing suicide for the US.
it's about 120 days to UKraine implodes first. 120x100~ dead people min.
Right. Has already. One week unilateral cease fire announced by Kiev.
Putin getting some leverage. Now maybe the genocide will stop in Ukraine.
Interesting to mention chessboard in article. Chess game being played by Russia versus Saudi Arabia. US is just pawn.
US is playing checkers
Obama is the pigeon crapping on the board and knocking pieces off.
"This is exciting!"
Yes, real time-world wide-show. Who needs football teams? The finale may be one hell of a fireworks show, perhaps even a mushroom cloud or two.
Oh Vlad,
You're such a scamp.
Poor Obama's gonna look like Uncle Ben by the time Putin's done with him.
Maybe more like Aunt Jemima
Or Rodney Dangerfield
Wrong - Rodney was well like by most Americans.
Not sure why Putin and his regime wouldn't support the Shia following Prince Bandar's threats.
http://consortiumnews.com/2013/12/31/the-russian-saudi-showdown-at-sochi/
They will through Iran
Russia does not need protecting. Its obvious why Putin supports Maliki
And Bandar didn't last too long after that:
'Saudi intelligence chief Bandar bin Sultan removed'http://pressall.wordpress.com/2014/04/15/saudi-intelligence-chief-bandar...
Personally, I wouldn't want to be within 50 feet of the guy - anywhere. He's a 'suicide' waiting to happen. I mean, really, who in their right mind would threaten Putin right to his face? Not me.
Agreed. Methinks Bandar overstepped his brief last August when he visited Putin. I'm surprised his private plane didn't meet with an accident en route back to Riyadh.
The Russians are waiting for a family reunion aboard a Saudi yacht just a few miles off a coast somewhere. He has brought shame and misfortune on the whole family.
They're going to uproot the whole family tree.
The U.S. should put itself on the list of states sponsoring terrorists.
The US needs to send Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bremer and GWB back to Falluja on the backs of some tomahawk missiles riding rodeo style.
Do or die for WMD crusade of 2003 repeat. Remember the original Crusaders came to Mansurah twice and lost their hides both times.
The Neo-cons can sing : we came to Baghdad twice before they lit the final twilight fuse.
Putin can then come and give extreme unction in an Orthodox mass : I buried those who buried Soviet Russia; in the rubble of Baghdad's renaissance singing my Euroasian song.
Falak-fuck off!
That said, Putin says touche' to 0bamao. Now that the Ruskies are going to help out we don't need to send 275 plus 300 no-boots-on the ground to that shithole.
What I want to see is kErrY go to Iraq and get the Iranian Shi'ites and the Isis Sunni's to sing kum-bye-ya!
what dickward? you don't want the original gang of thieves to pay their debt??
fuck you!
+1
For extreme unction.
The World should put the U.S. on the list of states sponsoring terrorists.
Putin has the ultimate hostage --- he can simply shut off gas supplies to Europe and the world would fall to pieces.
Fuck you Deep State.
He is in the process of doing that. Or the Nazis are doing it for him. There will be more pipeline explosions.
Either way, the price of Europe's natgaz is going up.
The Russians are talking to the Saudis now.
Something tells me that the price of Saudi Arabia being allowed to join the BRICS will have something to do with AQ deciding that the Great Satan is the US, and not those pesky Shiites.
They're almost out of oil. I mean, what the hell do they bring to the table, other than family insulting Putin?
What happens when a country wants to switch sides, and no one wants them. SA is about as useless as tits on a halal boar. The US doesn't need them to run AQ. SA is only a conduit, and the world is running out of the need for middlemen. The manufacturers are taking control of final delivery.
If Russia/China take them onboard, it's going to be at a very painful price.
I will not disagree with you 54r on that post. I saw you around sometime last week and liked a post that you made and meant to say hello. So hello and welcome (perhaps back) to our whatever it is that we do.
Before Saudi Arabia is allowed to become a member of BRICS - if it even wants to - it will need to start manufacturing/exporting "something" instead of terrorism. Oil won't be enough because the BRICS already have plenty of that.
It sucks to be American and admire Putin so much, but it's true!
Putin is a foil to the D.C. insanity. America, the idea anyway, is yet liberty, and nothing to do with Bush, Obummer, and all the rest. To cheer on Putin is insanity but that is what we are left with. We are not given a choice in the voting booth. We must watch from afar until it suddenly comes home.
Putin, Putin, hes our man
What obama cant do, Putin can!
America is the only first world country that does not have a civil defense (for the young, this is thousands of well-stocked bunkers for the population to survive a nuclear attack) system. Can you guess why?
The elites have well stocked private bunkers and dont give a shit if the other regular scum live or die?
Because the criminals who really run this country don't give a shit about 99.99% of our people? Including their hired thugs who make up our Congress? That's my first guess.
Well, that's true, but rest assured they have been breathing the same Japanese enriched uranium and plutonium we have. They're not going to last any longer than the rest of us, and their kids will die just as much as ours. They might get cleaner sheets in hospice, but we're all going down together.
I can't believe how many people around me are sick and dying of cancer. All within the last three years. A huge jump over the ones I knew before Fukushima blew.
How soon, we should all wonder, - before the State of Israel begins to see our President as a - non recoverable liability?
Obama bowed to the Saudi king, twice. It was on YouTube. There is some speculation the Saudis paid for his education, indirectly, through someone else.
It doesn't take a lot of money to educate a Communist Muslim. And Columbia didn't cost a thing, because he didn't go.
Harvard? Well, there's a lot of scholarship money for future puppets. No big deal there.
Then why seal his school records the day he became president?
The same reason Hillary had her records sealed well before she even bacame First Lady with Bill.
They are all '60's-'70's campus radical Communists. Read Saul Alinski, Angela Davis - these are their inspirations.
Angela Davis, there's a real winner. How people forget.
He bows too the Japanese imperial family also as well. Well he bows to everyody including Reggie
Obama has manners..maybe we should have sent Bush I to Japan to vomit on their PM again. And W. can go for a stroll hand in hand with the Saudi King. Maybe we should send Monica over to Putin to give our customary diplomatic greeting ...
What would Putin do with Nudelman?
Not so sure. I believe Obama is acting according to script -splintering and putting all of their competition into perptual civil war so that they can never threaten Israel. That's the plan and script that the Israeli Founding fathers (Ben Gurion, herzl, Begin, etc) wrote in the 30's and 40's.
The zionists 9and globalist controllers) do not give a shit about America and Americans - enslaving us after our own civil war, based on their policy of Divide and Conquer -is in the tea leaves for America -sooner than most think. Too bad 99% of Americans do not know real history.

Putin is sodomizing Obama.
Don't insult Putin - that is a sexual fantasy of the homo Obama. He so misses rahm.
I'll tell you, I was a Ron Paul fan, but you know what, Fuck That! It's time for a Ronald Reagan and a can of whoop Ass, Fuck Russia, Fuck China!
Ronald Reagan was not as great as some like to think and the last thing we want is war.
It's utterly ridiculous that Reagan looks like a genius compared to recent 2 presidents.
Get off the whiskey space cadet
Ominous speech by Putin's economic advisor, the same guy highlighted in the ZH article, Putin Advisor Proposes "Anti-Dollar Alliance" To Halt US Aggression Abroad.

Good video.
Putin flat out will not submit. The 0.01% are scrambling like crazy to no avail. What a bunch of buffoons. Hilarious!? Hell, even the numbed-out citizenry of the West are starting to wake up. Things are that fucked-up.
Unlike Obama and the American fools, Putin knows what he is doing. If Iraq becomes a Russian puppet, he will gain control over a huge chunk of the world's oil resources with Iran and Venezuela also on his side and the Saudis totally isolated.
How do you know what America wants? From a pure realpolitik Obama et al are being entirely consistent. They wish to control oil and the dollar. If that means spinning the mid east like a top, so be it, if it means having Russia engaging across multiple engagements, so be it.
I am not endorsing it, or judging the success, but to think there is no strategy here is simply naive.
Personally I am against it all as America is simply a puppet of the Euro elites, and have been since WWI.
Putin is being entirely concsistent with his foreign policy - just as China is. They offer help to legitimate governments without making demands on them. Legitimate governments deal with legitimate governmerts. The internal affiars of those governments are the business of that country, not Russia. The US could do with that lesson.
They operate differently but still unethically, the countries they acquire resources from may not prosper as a nation of people, but the dictators and vested interests sure do based on the deals made which in turn funds their continued dictatorship despite domestic opposition.
Just saying its not that clear cut, many ordinary people in Africa for example are shafted by the powers of the east and west. In so saying the USA, Canada, Australia etc could have managed very well without participating in the destruction of countless nations using the propaganda cry of "democracy" to disguise their true motives.
But when did our nations really have truly independent political systems? How many black swans have been played on us all to con us into the right-to-interfere and invade mentality? There is a lot of old history in this game being played today - e.g. Boar War to Afghanistan and beyond.
If our school texts followed the real money in our history lessons combined with historical gun boat "free-trade" and central banker ownership plus resource rights ownership we'd all see this quite differently, but then that would stop the masses of every nation deciding to participate in many of the wars we've had.
+1
Thats what I see. It's like the USA is Playing too many Bingo Cards.
Have you tried reading any of Dr Coleman's works (he wrote Committee of 300 among other things)?
You might be surprised just how many strings are being pulled from outside the USA that have been using the USA's useful sociopaths as puppets for a very long time. He presents historical and current factual documents from inner sanctum libraries we cannot access. Yes he shows Russia being played quite ruthlessly as well .... His papers cost about $10 but are worth it.

Putin doesn't want another US puppet who may well nationalise Lukoil's current work in Iraq.....and if it keeps energy prices up in the meantime. ..well that is good for them too
Otherwise you would think it to Russias advantage to join with the US with this....unless the bigger picture is about Saudi Arabia the USA and USD
It would have been nice if USA & Russia had been in the same group at the World Cup.
Does Spain's poor showing have anything to do with betting? I am sure somebody has got super rich betting against Spain
- the tournament favourites at the start of the World Cup.

PS Good morning!
You can't say the US isn't even-handed under Obama. It's on every side of every conflict.
Just working its way around to allying with Putin against the Ukraine Nazis when they start savaging the gas supply to Europe.
Not sure Putin has made the right move here, Maliki is useless and has personally been repsonsible for the mess Iraq is in for the last few years, there will be NO peace in Iraq with this man still in power....maybe he should have waited a little longer until Maliki was removed and another Government formed rather than pledge support personally to this liability?

I say let Putin have at it.
Apparently he's forgotten the quagmire the USSR got into when they invaded Afghanistan, eventually retreating with their tale between their legs, defeated in the mountains by goatherders with guns!
I don't care who you are, you'll never pacify the barbaric Islamic nutjobs.
Russians will use white phosporus and napalm. the groundwork has to be done by Shias then.
"Apparently (Putin's) forgotten the quagmire the USSR got into when they invaded Afghanistan"
Well, maybe, but it is fairly clear that the US forgot those lessons and that of Vietnam as well. We've STILL got the Guns-n-Butter policy going, for now.
This was long in the planning. This ain't Putins first rodeo. He planned, watched, planned waited because he is a pro.
Now we have Jews supporting liver eating muslim terrorists and Nazis, could it be more obvious?
Putin laughs, so do we.
"It is not clear how he [Putin] would feel about it [Lukoil] falling into ISIS hands."
Wouldnt feel real good about it. ISIS is an al-CIA-da offshoot. This is a puppet- cleansing war from the United States' perspective.
Edit: Just discovered this: Wikipedia says Russian Lukoil is in 30 countries INCLUDING SAUDI ARABIA.
Putin is just running his mouth. If Iran goes in I expect They will set up the next Iraqi Government. Thank you, BushCo., we finally have the Iranians right where we want them.
I think we should build McDonald’s all over the Middle East (make them like BUFFETS, all you can eat)... Supersize the fuck out of them..Get them fat and lazy.... Also a 24/7 broadcast of "Keeping up with the Kardashians" to throw them off their game.
Sounds like a prudent response by Putin.
He's had plenty of negative experiences from radical Muslims - enough to know they are better dead.
ISIS is like a loose cannon. Frankly there aren't that many of them in Iraq, so wiping them out is certainly within Russia's capabilities.
