Israel Launches Ground Operation In Gaza: Special Forces Raid Alleged Rocket Compound

Tyler Durden's picture

After conducting countless sorties and bombing raids aimed at Hamas operatives in Gaza during the fifth day of Operation Protective Edge, but resulting in well over a hundred innocent civilian deaths in the past week, Israel, realizing it is not generating any brownie points with the international "humanitarian" media, finally did what it had threatened to do over the last few days - launch a ground assault.

Moments ago, the Israel military reported that Israeli ground troops had entered northern Gaza to take out a number of missile launch sites.

According to ABC, the move comes after weeks of growing tensions and nearly a week of escalating missile strikes from both sides.

The mission was launched early Sunday local time comes after the UN Security Council urged the two sides to reach a cease fire, and the Israeli government said it hit northern Gaza "with great force" to prevent more Hamas rocket attacks.

During the incursion there was an exchange of fire with militants that left four Israeli soldiers lightly wounded, according to the IDF.

The IDF troops returned to Israel after the mission, and no soldiers were left in Gaza, the Israeli military said.

Of course, this is merely the first incursion into Gaza with many more to follow, in what appears is catalyst to escalate the conflict further, with the only question being just how will either side - as demanded by the UN - de-escalate, and more importantly, if the US will finally step in or whether it will continue to demonstrate the kind of peculiar aloofness that has allowed everyone from China to Russia to France and now, to Germany, to indicate that the former hegemon is increasingly living in a multipolar world, in which the US is taken far less seriously. If and when said attitude results in an adverse dollar impact, that will be the time for the residents at the Marriner Eccles building to quietly depart the US for non-extradition countries.

The Zionist parasitic/slaver incursion into Palestine is a bit of a problem. It's a minor problem in America as well. That disease looks like it can be fatal.

You do realize that one side has actually tried the "obvious solution", right? Hint: It's the side that's almost inexplicably accepted constant rocket attacks on its civilians for literally YEARS without major retaliation, only now responding beacuse how long can a nation reasonably be expected to continue to let its citizens be bombarded with rockets on a daily basis?

The obvious answer of course for both sides is to stop shooting (no shit Sherlock), but Hamas and their Gaza brethren have proven year after year that the only way both sides will stop shooting is when Hamas is destroyed. The moment Israel puts down its weapons, Israel and its population will be wiped off the face of the Earth in a heartbeat. The moment the Arabs stop their indiscriminate citizen-targeting rocket attacks, violence will cease to exist and no more innocent civilians will die.

What we have is people with justifiable grievances who are manipulated to violence by people with ulterior motives.......all over the world. This is but the begining, but we should be considerate of taking sides to be sure which, if any, are in our best interest. I suspect none.

As far as I can tell after watching this shit for decades this is indeed one big game of chess... Netanyahu is in my mind trying to provoke the hardliners in Iran for a response, thereby wrecking any of Rouhani's attempts to bring them out of the stoneage and a reapproachment with the US.

I beleive Rouhani is potentially this Century's Gorbachev,if he can survive, and Netnyahu knows it, if he can deliver a Nuclear deal with the West/US then  Israel will come under overwheming presuure for a proper settlement with the Palestinians...this is Israel trying everyting it can to make sure this deal doesn't happen and Rouhani is toppled. Israel wants a nuclear stike against Iran period. IMHO

Netayahu has got a hotline to Hamas that he calls daily to tell them to send more rockets and , naturally, they oblige.

That makes sense.

I never thought of that.

It is amazing how passionate some people are on this site. You openly bash each others views as if yours is the right one and theirs is wrong. Isn't that the essence of what the whole war is really about anyway. It has been raging for about 4000 years so good luck in putting it out any time soon. It is too bad that they can't find a way to use productive resources to better all their existences. I don't really know who's fault it is and I don't really care. If they cut through everything superficial, they are geneticallly very similar races from the same area. It is their stupid belief system that erects the walls. Instead of living thogether they find a way to do the opposite. However that being the case, if someone tries to blow up my home I am going to do my very best to hit them so hard and so heavy (sort of like they did in Syria a few years back) that they never think of doing it again. Attack me and see what happens? Hug me and also see what happens. It is that simple folks. Syria thought a lot about harboring terrorists after that bombing effort that turned much of it to rubble. I'd do no different. I wouldn't necessarilly start it because I think that war is a waste but I tell you I'd sure as hell finish it. Just a thought.

So if somebody is continually firing bullets into your house and nobody dies, I suppose you should just sit back and take it, because there really is no problem, according to your moronic thinking.

just by a person or gang attack my house, i would accuse and attack full city and open hell fire? o yea what if the Hamas hiding in egypt, syria, iran etc, thus they will never be "cought ", so the solution is to wipe palastine of the map, the mission which is 80% completed.

Can we interpret your comment to mean you wish the death rate were 100:100? You'd like to see 99 Israelis killed off. Who knows maybe the missile launching terrorists will get a lucky hit. Would that make you happier?

i would be happy if the 100 are not woman and childrens and innocent people but murdurers which is NOT THE CASE. the isreal casualties been ALWAYS too minumum compare to their counter attack to palastine. its a pure revenge against mostly the wrong target. if hamas are evil, then isreal army are devils.

Let them all fuck each other over and we stand back to reenter for the cleanup...oh wait, that's what China does. Having a civilization of 4500 years give you perspective.

Father Abraham is the culprit behind all of the animosity between the Jews and the Arabs. Long before there was a Muslim religion, there were still problems between the Arabs and the Jews. Abraham couldn't father a child with his wife and Hagar, the Egyptian slave of Sarah's, was kind enough to bear a child of Abraham's, with Sarah's blessing, of course. It's been hell ever since. Leave it to a Jew to create a fubar.

Charles the Hammer Martel marched on down to southern France and sent the Saracens packing back in 732. The Saracens had looted and pillaged until Charles made a grand entrance onto the scene and then the tables turned. A decisive battle that kept Europe Christian and more or less prevented Muslims from expanding further north. Then the Crusades began around 980 CE and a rampage of killing took place.

Then Portugal had problems with Muslim pirates while trading with India and the battle continued.

At another time, in 1981, 243 US Marines were slaughtered by a truck bomber.

Killing is standard operating procedure and business as usual, just like always.

The Jews should nuke Mecca and Medina and let it all hang out. What do they have to lose? Enough of this silly skirmish in Gaza, for Christ's sake.

Do it on a Saturday before sunset. Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.

Let us pray.

Devout Muslims all follow this dictum: "First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people." The problem is that a lot of the Saturday and Sunday people do not believe what the Muslims say (and do) or just want to stick their head in the sand and pretend it doesn't mean anything because it does not comport with their political agenda. They do not believe the PLO Charter or the Hamas Charter or the Hezbollah Charter of any others that delcare their intentions to destroy the "little saten" and then the "big satan". When will the Saturday people and the Sunday people wake up and BELIEVE what these BARBARIANS have been saying and doing for centuries at every opportunity? The Caliphate is coming. It will not be fun.

I am a "Catholic" Italian American with y-DNA haplogroup E-M84 - a group with Northeast Africa or Levant origins, found almost exclusively in either Jewish or Arab populations.  Therefore, I am a Semite.  My genotype notwithstanding, and the holocaust notwithstanding, I believe that any and all groups have a right to defend themselves and the partitions granted to them in 1948 - which have all since been virtually littered with illegal "settlements".

Yes there are some rich Jews that are involved in the occult and have cleverly and deviously taken over the banking system, but there are more than clever jews doing this, some are outright satanists of no particular ethnicity.

Why are there so many jew haters here, JH

Seems like ZH has become JH

The situation isn't complicated.

  1. Israel wants peace. Hamas wants Israel dead.
  2. If Israel layed down its weapons today, there would be no Israel tomorrow.
  3. If Hamas layed down its weapons today, there would be peace tomorrrow.
