Colorado Man Infected With Deadliest, Rarest Form Of Plague

Tyler Durden's picture

Don't Panic. But..."The message we're trying to get out is that the plague bacteria is present here in Colorado, and to take necessary precautions to avoid getting infected," is the warning from health officials as a Colorado man is infected with the rarest and most fatal form of the pneumomic plague, an airborne version that can be spread through coughing and sneezing. As Bloomberg reports, it is the first case of pneumonic plague seen in the state since 2004, and rather stunningly, he appears to have contracted the illness from his dog. "We don’t think it’s out in our air," House said. "We think it’s in our dead animal populations."

As Bloomberg reports, a Colorado man is infected with the rarest and most fatal form of plague, an airborne version that can be spread through coughing and sneezing.

The state is working “to investigate the source of exposure and to identify those who may have been exposed through close contact with the individual,” the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said in its statement. “Any individuals exposed will be recommended for antibiotic treatment.”

...

“We don’t think it’s out in our air,” House said. “We think it’s in our dead animal populations and dead rodent populations.”

“The reaction is leaning toward people who are tired of the protection of prairie dogs on some level,” said Jim Siedlecki, director of public information of Adams County. “Most people look at them as cute little dogs on the side of the road, but in rural Adams County they are looked at as a rodent who damages crops and is potentially plague-ridden.”

...

Untreated plague is fatal, and antibiotics have to be given within 24 hours of the first symptoms to reduce the chance of death. Symptoms of the disease include fever, headache and chest pain, along with a pneumonia that develops rapidly causing shortness of breath, chest pain and bloody mucus, according to the CDC.

There is no vaccine available for plague in the U.S.

Colorado officials recommend that residents keep pets away from wildlife, especially dead rodents. The plague can spread from animals after a large die-off of prairie dogs, when fleas with the bacteria seek new hosts, according to the state.

“The message we’re trying to get out is that the plague bacteria is present here in Colorado, and to take necessary precautions to avoid getting infected,”

So, in summary, West Africa has the worst breakout of ebola virus in history (which is not under control) and now the US has this 'deadliest, rarest form of the plague' - good times, people.

Statistically unusual things do not happen, usually.

That is, it's not by chance!

Hm, people there decided they are capable of deciding what they put in their bodies, hm, strike fucking one. Bloomberg Scumfuck tries to disarm people there, it didn't work, strike fucking two.

What do they have in store for Colorado next? Maybe a derailed train with nuclear...ah, whatever.

"There is no vaccine available for plague in the U.S."

OR ANYWHERE.

You don't give a vaccine for a BACTERIAL infection.

Oh, the head hurts from such ignorance.

Miffed? Miffed? Did you just have a coronary?

It had to be around Boulder.  Used to live there and was turned into the police by a neighbor for eliminating my fair share of the vile creatures.  Liberal nuts.

I've spent some time in and around CO. There were signs in the parks advising the public to beware of plague. As far as I know, the only thing new is that, in this case, Bubonic plague has morphed into Pneumonic plague. Pneumonic plague is much worse because it is spread from person-to-person. Bubonic plague is not spread from person-to-person (regardless of what you've been told).

An obvious locaiton for testing lab-made pneumonic, no? Blame outbreak on happenstance?

The next big thing to look for may well be some nasty influenza strains.

Mother nature is going to fix this overpopulation of the world problem...very soon.

What with Pneumonic and Bubonic plague, multiple antibiotic resistant bacteria, AIDS, drug-resistant TB, etc.

Along with the GMOs, depleted soil all around the world, tons of additives, preservatives, pesticides and herbicides in our food.

Vaccinations that no longer work (mumps vaccine is now about 65% effective). Large rises in the incidence of STDs and Herpes.

Weird new species cross-over diseases such as equine encephatitis.

Then there's all the mental-health problems, mainly caused, I'm sure, by poor nutrition and food toxins, leading to a rise in suicides, drug-abuse, violent criminal activity etc.

What to do about all this? Look after yourself; do not rely solely on mainstream medicine. Don't have vaccinations for every little thing. Live a healthy lifestyle. Eat healthy home-grown organic food.

Think for yourself!

Mother nature? TPTB perhaps a fixing to decimate world population. Decent nutrition is harder to come by every day eg I bought some bananas for local wildlife from a big super market -they ignored them, got some from my usual local grocery guy and the bananas were demolished by the wildlife...hmmm.

I had the plague once. Meh, a little plague never hurt anybody. It's good for ya, helps build up your immunity to future plagues. Damn kids these days can't take a little plague. When I was a lad I walked uphill both ways to school and contracted plagues during both walks. Two different kinds of plague.

So fuck you kids, grow a pair.

When you was a lad your folks were not taught how to be parents by Oprah TV.

Notice how the UK is giving criminal sentence to parents who take their kids on holiday during school term? Or threats that no vaccination means no attendance at a nursery or school? Or that TV is todays babysitter?

Parents gotta grow a pair! Tough but essential.

The Yorkshire plague and the Lancashire plague?

Had 'em both.  Nothing compared to the Manchester plague.

Took a day off work it was so bad.

Sorry to see such a beautiful state populated with rugged freedom loving individuals go to hell in a handbasket so quickly thanks to the flood of liberal immigrants from Kalifornia and other states. I'm afraid that besides becoming ever so more unattractive to businesses (especially gun manufacturers), the gift of this administration of MERS, Tuberculosis and Chukungunya and other illegal alien immigrant borne diseases will become more and more prevalent in the state. Leave Colorado while you still have the financial resources to be mobile and you have good health to move to more reasonable states.

I wonder if Dr "Pandemic-Flu-Reserection" will be sending the world his goodies soon.

I have always thought the "Georgia Guide Stones" to be the legacy of a murder-obsessed rich eccentric, who left them after his own death as an epitaph for the world.

But I am coming to doubt whether it was after his or "their" deaths.

Are some among the elites possessed of that special kind of crazy we call genocidal mania - i.e. they want the human race to perish?
