The Final Moments Of Flight MH-17: The Russian Side Of The Story
Yesterday, we laid out extensively what the official Ukrainian case was when it came to "proof" that Russian separatists had launched the Buk missile which allegedly took down flight MH-17; we also highlighted several glaring inconsistencies and questions that still remained open after the "incriminatory" YouTube clip release. So far, any international response has been muted to this hastily prepared evidence of Russian involvement, although the day is still young.
So what about the Russian side? Below we present the key arguments made by Russia to suggest that not it, but Ukraine, was responsible for taking down the Malaysian Boeing.
As reported earlier by RIA, the Russian Defense Ministry says it had intercepted the activity of a Ukrainian radar system on the day the Malaysian plane went down in eastern Ukraine, the ministry’s press service said Friday.
"Throughout the day on July 17, Russian means of radar surveillance intercepted the operation of the Buk-M1 battery’s Kupol radar station located in the region of the populated area of Styla [30 kilometers south of Donetsk]," the press service said in a statement.
“The technical capabilities of the Buk-M1 allow the exchange of data on air targets between batteries of one battalion. Thus, the launch of rockets could have also occurred from any of the batteries deployed in the populated area of Avdeevka [8 kilometers north of Donetsk] or from Gruzsko-Zoryanskoe [25 kilometers east of Donetsk],” the ministry said.
Then we go to Itar-Tass which reported that civil flights in the air space of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions cannot be performed as the relevant communications infrastructure was destroyed there, a source from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.
“Kiev operates all air traffic control services and it is unclear how this plane (the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 that crashed in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border Thursday night. — ITAR-TASS) could appear in the area,” he said.
“During the combat actions in Donetsk’s airport the communication tower, a part of the united air control service was blown up,” he said adding that “planes cannot fly there.”
On July 8, Ukraine’s State Aviation Service banned all flights over the Donetsk and Luhansk regions aiming to provide “adequate safety and security for all flights of civil aircraft in favor of state aviation.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council took a decision to close the airspace over the area of the so-called anti-terror operation to commercial flights three days ago, Rosaviatsia reported.
This goes back to our post from last night in which we wondered just why and how did it happen that flight MH-17 diverted from its usual trajectory to fly over what was effectively restricted airspace. This also is the topic of a follow up piece by Bloomberg released overnight in which it was noted that "Malaysian Air Flight Took Route Avoided by Qantas, Asiana:"
Qantas hasn’t used the route for a few months, said Andrew McGinnes, a spokesman for the Australian carrier, while Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific said it has been detouring for “quite some time.” Korean Air Lines Co. and Asiana Airlines Inc. said in statements they have been avoiding the area since March 3.
One hopes that all lingering questions about the flight path, and where the instructions to change it came from, will be answered when the contents of the flight black box are released.
And finally, as RT reported, the national governor of the Donetsk region, Pavel Gubarev, admitted that while the separatists indeed are in possession of one BUK missile unit, it is not operational, and even if it was, it would be unable to reach a height of over 30,000 feet without central radar guidance which the Donetsk region does not have, once again suggesting that a Surface to Air Missile, if indeed one was used, came from the Ukraine side. Surely it will be very easy for international monitors to validate this report.
We will ignore circulating reports of two Ukraine jets that may have followed the Boeing as there is, at least for now, zero direct or circumstantial evidence validating this story aside from one Twitter account which has since been deleted.
In brief the plot thickens, and all that matters now is whose propaganda, read media outlets, will be more persuasive although in reality even that is moot: in the echo chambers of ideology, most people already have their mind made up as to "who" the shooter was.

Agreed. I saw a Singapore Airlines flight, also out of Amsterdam bound for Singapore, had left about 30 minutes earlier. They certainly would have had similar weather concerns. In looking at the flight tracks on Flightaware, I did notice that the Singapore Airlines flight was quite a bit south of the Malaysian plane. So, unless the Malaysian pilot decided on his own to fly north, someone at ATC vectored him into the northern route. And, if someone did that, why just the Malaysian plane and not the Sing plane? Too many questions and, given Russian control of the black boxes, no certainty that the results of any "investigation" will be based on facts.
Presumably the black box that Kiev has already said it will keep secret will have recordings of all conversations with air traffic control to show the decision process and directions given. I haven't seen the map - do you have a link? Still don't see why they didn't divert south rather than north, where the whole world knows a shooting war is occurring..
If the explanation ends up being "diverted north to avoid weather and, oh well, those things can happen flying over a war zone", then Obama doesn't get to blame Russia and the whole false flag is ineffective.

3rd July 1988 Iran Air Flight 655 a scheduled civil flight, on time on FL and on route, squawking as a civilian aircraft was shot down over the Persian Gulf by the USS Vincennes, an Aegis Class guided missile cruiser. All 290 souls aboard lost, including 66 children. George HW Bush said "I will never apologise for the United States, I don't care what the facts are......i'm not an apologise-for-America kind of guy".
USS Vincennes has access to full atc schedules for the gulf, they had all of the technology to identify the flight yet they reckoned that the flight was an F-14 in a decending attacking attitude, when in fact the Iran Air flight was climbing. Admiral William Crowe admitted that the Vincennes was in Iranian territorial waters when it fired its missiles.
All members of the USS Vincennes crew were awarded Combat Action Ribbons. The air warfare coordinator received the Navy Commendation Medal and the Captain, Rogers, was awarded the Legion of Merit for "exceptional meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service as commanding officer... from Apr 1987 to May 1989" The citation was given for his service as commander of the Vincennes.
I grieve for the innocent victims of this great tragedy, as any civilised person would also have grieved for the innocent passengers of the Iran Air flight, but it is sickening to listen to the crocodile tears of the ZUSA and it's EUSSA lap dogs condemn Russia and the NovoRossiyans in connection with this tragedy. I don't know any more than anyone else who fired the missile which brought this plane down. But I'm sure that if it was the rebel forces in Ukraine, it was not an intended target. They would have absolutely nothing to gain from doing so. If that is what happened, no doubt, as was ascribed to the USS Vincennes downing of Iran Air 655, it was due to the fog of war.
Since UKR Fighter Planes were escorting the MH17 in an unconventional Fligth Path over the Region, there's a good chance this may have been a Reconnaissence Mission and/or a smaller chance that (since there are no reported SAM Trails) a SetUp/Escort/Shootdown by one of the Pilots.

In the Dutch media there are pictures of rebels looting the crash site, rebels blocking inspectors to search the area and Russians who's silence is deafening.
Don't get me wrong, I regularly visit Russia and I really like going there. Russians as a people are very warm (even in Siberia at -40 degrees Celcius) and very welcoming, but it's looking more and more as if the Russian government and Russian-backed rebels in eastern Ukraine are trying to cover up a monumental fuck up.

I know, it is hard to be in a place where an opinion you don't like is printed. Better you control content, then this RT extension will not make you unhappy. I find the now-missing Tweeter acct. of the Spanish air contollor way more interesting than the Missing Black Boxes. Plus the time stamping of CREATION on the YouTube video. That I find interesting. I also find interesting the fact (that I cannot confirm yet) that Putin's flight and the Malaysia flight were in the same area around Warsaw roughly within 1/2 hour or so of each other.
But this air controllor and report that within 7 minutes of the "downing' of the flight...the tower in Kiev was overtaken by Ukranian official personnel. And the story gets going from there.
But the creation time stamp on the video really bugs me. That is something no amount of CNN'ing can get my head around.
I am not sufficiently clued in with tech to figure how you spoof a twitter thing (Spanish guy)...then it gets taken down really quickly. And where is this fellow? I mean this truly. If this fellow and tweets are for real then where is this guy? If it was for real it appears that he was trying very hard to communicate the reality of what he was seeing to the world.
When the US propaganda services lie more, it's just a matter of whose "news" seems to hve a greater truth quotient. Which mainstream US news outlet actully has reviewed 9-11 evidence in a good faith effort to find out what really happenned? That's right, not one. Do I give RT more credibility points than CNN? Yes, I do.
