Things In The Middle East Are About To Get Much Worse
There are major clashes occurring currently in The West Bank tonight as claims of 10s of thousands and Palestinians clash with Israeli soldiers. Sadly, as the photos below reveal taken moments ago show, things appear set to get very much worse.
Israeli security forces have shot dead three Palestinians during a massive protest in the West Bank, according to medical officials.
The three people were among an estimated 10,000 people who are clashing with soldiers and border police at a checkpoint in Qalandiya, between Jerusalem and Ramallah.
The protest came hours after 15 people were killed and more than 200 injured when a UN school in the city of Beit Hanoun was hit by an artillery shell.
At least 90 people were injured in the checkpoint clashes, with some reports that live fire was being used.
An Israeli army spokeswoman told the AFP news agency soldiers were using "riot disposal means" to control the protest.
She said: "There are thousands of rioters there. They are rolling burning tyres and throwing Molotov cocktails and fireworks at soldiers and border police.
"The soldiers are responding with riot disposal means."

That's not entirely true. The northern states wanted them to count for nothing for the purposes of representation, but they wanted them to count as full persons for the purposes of taxation. The southern states wanted the exact opposite. Hence the 3/5 compromise.

Before we continue any discussion, it seems we first have to agre on syntax and grammar. Are Christians now considered a race or ethnic group, too?
Because by my math, I would see it this way:
In 1947, when the UN exercised an authority it did not possess and "partitioned" the land of the people who lived there from time immemorial, there were several million Arabs and then hundreds of thousands of Europeans of the Jewish religion with empty looks on their face showed up all of a sudden expecting a homeland promised to them, actually rather forced onto them. The ones who wanted to go home were told they had no choice.
This is real simple.
Let's say events lead up to California being partitioned by the United Nations because a huge influx of...oh, let's make it: Chinese refugees fleeing some horror demand political recognition and separation so they can have their own homeland. Of course people have sympathy for them because of their plight and at least on the surface it seems like a reasonable demand, until you start getting into the details. And let's say the native population--the Californians--all get scooted out of the plum parts like the SF Bay Area through the Santa Barbara area to the coastal Los Angeles region and south to San Diego. So the Chinese get Hollywood, Beverly Hills, San Francisco, etc. while the Californians are left with nostly underdeveloped or rurals areas.
Immediately hostilities break out as the Californians--naturally, as they've had no say in the matter--oppose the Chinese arbitrarily declaring the Californians' homeland a Sino nation. The Chinese, with foreign assistance, engage in a campaign of genocide to route out the indigenous Californians and force them into the shitty Central Valley and rural parts farther east and north while capturing key water resources and other strategic features. The neighboring Nevadans, wanting to stop the spread of the Chinese expansion, oppose them from the East and secure most of the central valley and subsquently occupy the area, and with the help of their Mexican neighbors the Californians manage to keep San Diego, though they eventually become boxed in like an open air prison and eventually used as a living human weapons testing laboratory and gun range.
An uneasy truce is in effect until the Chinese, drunk on the political power that is constantly hosed into them, instigate a skirmish twenty years later and then take the Central Valley from the Nevadans and occupy it for themselves and also manage to occupy San Diego. A decade later they begin colonizing the land, violating the international laws promulgated by the very organization--the United Nations--that gave them statehood in the first place. Those damn Chinese, they want to play by the rules when it suits them and ignore them when they don't.
Over time San Diego is relinquished back to the Californians because the cost of maintaining Chinese colonies in Oceanside and Chula Vista proves too much to bear for the majority of Chinafornians. See, the Chinese start slowly assimilating California culture, renaming the things that used to be distinctly California and adopting California customs and calling them their own, even claiming the Chinese have always made fajitas and fortune cookies since ancient times.
But in the occupied Central Valley, the Chinese build increasingly large "settlements" in Californian territory, taking nicely built 2000s era homes for themselves and forcing the Californians to live in squalor in isolated enclaves. They build swimming pools and have nicely manicured lawns in a place where there are scarce water resources because of a historic drought, while they leave very little water for the Californians and literally spew their untreated raw sewage into Californian fields with careless disregard and, actually, intentional malice, all of course with impunity.
They justify all this through some historically distant claim on the land, and they point to Chinatowns in San Franciso and Los Angeles as historical evidence.

I like you Chumbawamba, but I think you’re wrong here. Before they were known as "Jews" they were known as Hebrews or Israelites. They have been in the land (off and on) for centuries before the diaspora. From a pure "who's been there the longest" argument, the Jews win that hands down.
Furthermore, the West Bank was captured by Israel in 1967 in a war it didn't start but sure as heck finished. As captured territory, Israel had every right to keep the West Bank and assimilate it into its sovereign territory. That’s what usually happens in other places. The US did it to the Indians. Somebody later thought it would be a good idea to allow the Palestinians to govern their own territories. Rather than choose to live peaceably with Israel, the Palestinians thanked Israel by allowing thousands of rockets to be fired at populated civilian areas within Israel. Israeli schools were targeted. Innocent children were killed.
The problem is that the Palestinian culture is vehemently anti-Israel. They teach their children from birth to hate Jews. They don't want to "COEXIST" as the bumper sticker says. They, like the mullahs in Iran, want to annihilate Israel.
For those who hate Israel, no amount of proof will change their mind that Israel is the "bad guy" in this current conflict.
